Heya hitest, glad that worked for ya' did you do the others too...like plf and contrib?...it adds a whole lotta goodies to the install software list.

Hi Mike, my "mark" isn't necessary, it's actually just your pic with a some effects added...tis all yours. Actually I've been using photoshop longer than the gimp and while I do know how to use the gimp (somewhat), I'm much more comfortable using Photoshop...Fontunately Crossover Office allows me to run PS in linux. But to answer your question...The Gimp User Group has alot of cool tutorials to get you started....just takes a little imagination to apply them to your needs.

heya Mike, I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but took a first crack at it...let me know if you need something different.

hey hitest, It's not so much, downloading the updates through cli, but more setting up rpmdrake through cli so it won't look for an update site. I've used http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ to set up all package handling including updates....the problem I think you have is that it wants to find a server on its own when first run...I think this will get you by that but I'm not sure...I had that problem sporatically back in november and also had to change download sites numerous times since then due to lousy speeds but I don't think I've had a problem in months. I've had some good speeds from Wisconsin.

Yep, that'd be the one!

I already sent this in a PM but figured I'll show y'all to see what you think....(ok, maybe I am just showing off but I think it looks pretty cool ) I work better from scratch and would probably have just made his sig look like crap.

I agree...I kinda knew some people would give the responses that they did. spam doesn't affect me, I know how to use email and not put an address I don't want spammed on the www...Of course, like everything else, it took a small learning process to learn that lesson though. In comparison to alot of other crimes out there, I have to say I was surprised by a 9 year sentence...I do not think the punishment fits the crime considering murderers and rapists would get out sooner than he would if he had to serve his full sentence. I would think a 2-3 year sentence (actually served), fines that would d

I kind wondered if you ever got that resolved....Seems odd, I've had no problems with adding things via command line but yeah, there did seem to be a couple bugs when doing it through MCC...I highly doubt this was an issue due to you not being a member. Hell, that issue would probably make me consider not becoming one...lol snagged off the sign up page: Standard Member ($5.50 month/$66 year or 60 € year) Silver Member ($11 month/$132 year or 120 € year) Recommended level! Gold Member ($55 month/$660 year or 600 € year) Platinum Member ($110 month/$1320 year or 1200 € year) I just went

Hey hitest, we're all friends here...you can drop the formality of "5150" from my name...lol Hell, B calls me t0c Yeah, saw that too...If they release it the same way as MDK 10.1 official, I'll beat ya' on this one too... seems that club membership lasts a year and entitles me to download before it goes public. Think I'll be doing my laptop first with the other 2 machines to follow shortly after....Figure doing the install on the laptop is easier than the updates I've been negligent in installing...lol

Where's the petition to create more spyware...maybe we can sway a few more to Linux...No? OK, I'll sign for all you Winderz folks
-
Oh, I see you've opted for the pre-b0rked OS, instead of the "b0rk service pack needed" version...excellent choice, Sir....lol

I found This Link on slashdot.. Opinions?...Do you think the punishment fits the crime?

heh, I was actually on the mandrake...er...mandriva cooker page today, considering grabbing 10.2rc2 for my test/learning machine...decided I was patient enough to wait for it to be released. I didn't know the next one was coming out that soon and I'll probably install it on the test machine but hold off a while on my bad@$$ box.... I've messed around a bit the last few weeks and a couple blunders had me reinstalling the / partition...you never know how much you've done for customization and tweaking til you have to reinstall... not to mention over 1GB of updates for 10.1....I'm not really in t

Sounds like a stupid name, but OK....Since it's my OS of choice, guess I'll have to get used to it.
-
yes they have, now at 2GB....so that makes ummm, 2GB that I don't use..lol...I even put a mailto link intact on a couple of my web pages to see if I'd get spammed...none yet Have you ever misrepresented yourself online with fake pics?...lol

A) How else?....TTV/G4 migrator Q) Do you blog?....hahaha, I'm such a spammer parental advisory: adult language present in blog

B, FYI, I was verbally accosted in your channel by some potty mouth b*s*a*d named tict...errr, ummm...oh, his name was Jeff, that's it...lmao..I appreciate your anticipated prompt action with putting a stop to his behavior...I believe banning him from the channel would do the trick t0c edit: after posting, I realized my sense of humor might not be obvious to all...I assure you, #besttechie is a cool place to hang out....hence, why you'd find me there just about 24/7

hmmmm, I can't relate to that comparison, as I never learned DOS...Since most window managers (kde, gnome, etc. etc. ) act somewhat like Windows you'll be relatively comfortable doing things in a graphical environment just like in Windows but command line is really where the power is at in linux...so to answer the question....No, it won't be like learning DOS, it'll be like learning linux command line...meaning BETTER...lol

thanks for the reply iccaros I'll test out your modprobe recomendation when I have some time...I'd hardly consider these problems so your apology is neither warranted or expected...IMO you're doing a great job and have gotten me (somewhat) interested in similar projects Oh c'mon...now you're just bragging...I've managed to alienate myself from just about everyone by switching to linux gotta love watching peoples eyes glaze over when you start rambling about linux and FOSS with enthusiasm...lol

different issue than dk's I had a problem in Mandrake the other day caused by the ati (gatos) drivers so thought about fixing the XF86conf file by going in with your CD...no joy, as my mandrake install is on a SATA drive which the cd didn't recognize (it sees hda just fine but no sda)...not sure if it's supposed to see a SATA so I'm not sure if this is a bug or not....more like an FYI

Same here iccaros, glad to help out maybe now you can pull the notice off your documentation page about my blunder with your name on the first bootsplash...lol...won't be makin' that mistake again!!!!...ugh, what an embarrassment Edit: Started d/loading it while I was posting before...editing my post from it now. Very well done!!...I'll give it a 4.9 out of 5 the only thing I think it's missing is an IRC client...considering all the apps you've included in this I'm surprised not to see xchat....or maybe it is there and I've yet to find it...lol anyway, good job

I got a little bored and disatisfied with the first wallpapers that I came up with, so here's the latest in the Iccaros-Linux series If you haven't already packed up your distro, I think this one is better than the previous. Click Here for 1024x768
