  1. Sending warm wishes to those who are freezing! I thought our low of 0 tonight was going to be cold... Wow, Terrorist, sounds like you got what we were predicted to get yesterday! It was a wild couple hours but the winds pushed the snotty weather through quickly. Liz
  2. OK, because I'm a noob--isn't pulling a drive and putting it in another computer frequently used for diagnosing problems? If so, then you lose the license by trying to either fix your idiot box or fix someone else's idiot box? That doesn't seem fair. Liz
  3. Read them to Son--he LOVED the Fried Eggs one (dang 50 hours driving with a parent to get the license rule!) I've only been a passenger with him once since he got his license Liz
  4. Pat, the weather was just crazy here! SIX warnings in W. Michigan at ONCE! Winter Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory, Ice Storm Warning, High Wind Warning, High Wind Advisory and ...get this...Tornado Watch! The weatherman said about the only warning missing was the Heat Advisory! Bozodog had 58 degrees today while I had 30 today, and we're only a couple hours from eachother (GR is pretty much right between us) In a two hour period, we had thunder and lightning, horizontal rain, freezing rain, hail (yes, hail!) and snow! Our radar map looked like a kalideoscope, never saw so many colo
  5. Hicksville works but Kazoo doesn't??? Wow, Googlemaps don't even work up here! LOL Liz

    Oil Leaks

Pete, Actifed is the best thing that works for my allergies! Try Dollar Stores, Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc--I have always been able to find it at those places (well, it's the generic version, same thing) and cheaper to boot! Heeheehee, this thread is going from oil leaks to booger leaks.... Liz
  7. Well, it was WAY off with my house!! Said 1350 sq ft and my house is 1850 sq ft and it said it's worth almost half what we paid for it 25 years ago. Probably due to being in Michigan...the "backwords state" Looked up my sister's house and it showed 2 bathrooms, BUT they were being taxed incorrectly (due to only having one bath!) and they recently got it fixed--neat site for fighting improper taxation! They could have used this site a year ago. Sending that one on the email express. Thanks, Tman! Liz

    Oil Leaks

Well, not sure if it was the gasket or the oil filter, but YES it happened to one of my cars--lots of black smoke, the oil light went on, luckily my Dad borrowed my car at the time and he knew just what to do. He said (through the mechanic) that the filter was installed wonky or something to that effect--the oil filter just fell off!. Luckily, he stopped right away and shut off the engine and nothing was damaged. That was the car that also dropped its gas tank 1 mile after I exited the highway. The mechanic said that if I was on the highway when the gas tank came loose, I'd be a Rice Krispie
  9. Good articles, Pat! Thank you! And comforted that my "Mcrappie" fared well--like you, if I'm used to using something, I don't want to learn to use something new! Thinking Tech makes my head hurt and my eyes glaze over.....Shame that Norton has gone down in quality--I remember it used to be it was considered the very best! BionicBozodog, I LIKE that! Income taxes done (ugh, I do both kids', too, so triple dose and Michigan Income taxes are crazy confusing), FAFSAs done, property taxes paid, took the "nut" to her doctor appt, today's project will be dealing with two sisters that I don't get
  10. Let the experts chime in here, but I personally love SpywareBlaster, don't know anything about SpywareGuard. SpywareBlaster is easy to install (even for a noob like me!) and it puts about 5000 cootie infested sites in your "Restricted Site Box", so if one of the kids tries to go to one of these sites, the computer won't let them. I think SpywareBlaster stopped some aggravating pop-ups we used to get, too (not sure, we installed Spybot and Adaware and Spywareblaster the same day...) DO make sure to drum into Daughter's head to never open a sent link when she's chatting, unless she knows for su
  11. Thank you, Handplane! And Happy Valentines Day right back at'cha, Sweetie! Liz
  12. Happy Valentines Day to All! Even if it is a "hallmark holiday" Hugs and kisses! oxoxoxoxox Liz
  13. Happy Birthday Darrenkook and Subwolf! Have a great day Liz
  14. Happy Birthday Lumpy! Have a wonderful day Liz
  15. LOL, Angie, yep, teenagers.....they "know it all" about these strange techy idiot boxes till they break, and then WHO do they call wailing??? Yep...Mom. We need teenagers like the teenagers here at BT's!! Glad you got it fixed. Do you have Adaware, Spybot and especially SpywareBlaster installed? Spybot and Spywareblaster have saved me from hearing the wailing a LOT! Liz
  16. Now, Screi, to quote Daughter when she's "had it" with her little brother--"I hate you SOOO much!" (Gad, I'd love to see 86) W. Michigan didn't get all the snow, but had an 86 car pile up on the highway, due to a "Lake effect Whiteout"! Oh, my gosh, the photos were scary! Thankfully, the 20 people who were taken to the hospital were "treated and released", no injuries! And even more thankfully, one kid was home and another was in a different part of town. Phew! Liz
  17. Wow! I had to do some looking to make sure they weren't "posed real people", he is amazing! Yup, bizarre poses alright, but so very well done--what a craftsman! Screi, I had to grin when I read your post and looked at your avatar Thanks, JDoors Liz
  18. Ah, the good old days...Now, I DO remember getting the "24 hour stomach flu" growing up, and my kids have never had it (too many years working in a restaurant kitchen--I'm a careful cook) BUT every parent of my kids' friends had "Spanking Rights". I remember the time when Kate was playing with our Pastor's daughter, in the Church while he was working in the office....they got naughty and he spanked them both *gasp* in the Church Sanctuary! Well, that's where they were being naughty....caused quite an uproar, but I thanked him and defended him! Yup, we were mean, mean parents... Hee, hee,
  19. Steve, those guys have pencil sharpeners shaped like airplanes, jeeps, pot bellied stoves, tanks, even a windmill pencil sharpener. Who'da thunk? Liz
  20. Happy Birthday, DD! Have a wonderful day! Liz
  21. *slaps head* Marty, I knew there was a reason I liked you, besides your sweet disposition and wonderful sense of humor (you always make me laugh, thank you!)! My Dad and Son are both "collectors of unusual things"--Dad collects kerosene lamps, unusual pencil sharpeners, model airplanes, and Son collects pencil sharpeners, coins and Burger King Crowns... And your kids at least inherited the love of playing music! They are still using that chunk of the brain. My Mom is a watercolor artist--her daughters ended up being a "pen and paper" artist, a crocheter, an interior decorator, a gardener
  22. Welcome, Angie! We have the nicest members including Admins and Mods around! Look around, enjoy, and hope to hear a lot from you *waves to Macmarauder* Been missing you! Wait, where's Lightning Bolt Guy?? Liz
  23. OK, Robroy, so you snuck back into the Bar after I took you home?!? He didn't lose the kilt on my watch! Still trying to figure out how you got past the snowfencing and bubblewrap. Gee whiz, it's been busy at my house. I don't get it, this is hibernation season! Between the kids (who are ADULTS NOW, they shouldn't be taking up my time, but it never ends, does it? Thank God.), a sister that has been calling me every day and the "nut with a walker" (the old lady I take shopping and that's HER term, not mine) its been chaotic here. Seems all I've been doing is blabbing on the telephone. An
