  1. perfect comeback, Deafgirl! Liz
  2. Heck with country folk, that applies to anyone over 40! Good one, Barb Oh, and to other readers, click the little picture, if it doesn't show up big enough to read, in the lower right corner there is a circle and arrows (comes and goes, move around the mouse), click that, and the picture gets big. Liz
  3. Agreed with Naraku! That forum would be the first place that folks interested in programming would look when they arrive here, anyways! At least that's what Son does (waaaay to far over my pea head!) A "sub forum" in the programming forum would keep those great ideas "front and center", too. Liz
  4. LOL! Yup, cops love smart alecks..... Liz
  5. Hooray! I knew you'd get your hearing back. Now to get used to noises again.... Liz
  6. Happy Birthday, Drew! Have a wonderful day! Liz
  7. How did he cheat? (nope, didn't watch the race....) Liz
  8. So would my Son's girlfriend as she's taking a astronomy course in college--You should also post this in Open Chat In the meantime, I'm keeping an eye on this thread! Liz
  9. LOL! And I park in my driveway.....Sending that one to Daughter the writer, she'll love it! Thanks, Barb. Liz
  10. Because it's a Gateway! Seriously, now Jeff's probably right, but I remember reading somewhere of someone having a similar problem and it ended up being a faulty power button on the tower. Seemed such an odd problem and odd solution I remembered it. Liz
  11. IF you want a "free with rebate" firewall, Mcafee Firewall does that--at least the 2005 version did (haven't installed my 2006 version yet). It must work pretty decently--the past 6 months of Antispyware Scans only showed Viewpoint Manager (which is "up in the air" whether it's good or bad...) and tracking cookies--I surf carefully, but my kids sure don't! Free after Rebate.info--Mcafee Internet Suite on page one, and Mcafee AV and Firewall on page two Kudos to Barb for this site! And because you can decifer the techy gobbly goop better than I can, here's the info on Mcafee Firewall--sounds
  12. Good ones, Potato!...ahem, I do NOT have too many shoes! Liz
  13. Oh, that one is getting sent on the email express! Save Homer! Good one, Keith, thanks Liz
  14. Just don't ever go digging if your ear hurts! Will make things much, much worse *yeeeoooowwwieee* Liz
  15. Kinda isolating if you're not used to it, huh? My allergies will make my ears clog up--I know the feeling! Liz
  16. Sixpac, first of all, congrats for being a Godfather! Little girl or little boy? And your post made me laugh! Ahhhh, "church biddies" (which can be male or female!).....as aggravating as they can be, one can't help but see humor in their behavior. My daughter's boss is Indian and always gets asked where he's from. He answers, "Ann Arbor, Michigan" After all, he was born there! Daughter keeps telling him that he should answer like Saturday Night Live's Coneheads--"from France"--and really make 'em wonder Bet it was a beautiful service with the ladies wearing Sarees (I don't know how
  17. Woah, that is scary! But USUALLY it takes many nasty ear infections before loss of hearing. It's probably due to fluid or swelling inside your ear, blocking the ear drum, or a chunk of wax in the wrong place and probably temporary. Keeping my fingers crossed for you to get better quickly! Liz
  18. LOL, Bubbabob But gosh, Hondaboy, 14 in "Tennesaaaay" is mighty cold! How many cars ended up in ditches? I hate chipping off ice. Guess that is one advantage that Michigan has--we just have to use a push broom to get the snow off the cars. Doesn't ice up very often, but when it does, it's a pain. Pummelling snowballs in Bubbabob's direction, too! Liz
  19. How true, Tman! I remember saying "paying to watch tv? Ridiculous" (saying the same thing now about paying for radio...I guess we'll see...)...and of course, the scoffing Bill Gates got when he predicted a computer in every home...Sending that one on and thanks! Liz
  20. Hope the little guy gets his bike! Good one, DeafGirl, sending that one on the email train Liz

I read Marty's post earlier and didn't have time to reply, and figured our Sweet Marty just copied and pasted a signature, too...a "Bitser" isn't allowed to be bigoted! Dragon was right to edit, but no harm done, dear Marty! But the Yankee part--hilarious and how true! Good one, Marty! Sending that one to my Florida relatives! In Michigan, we have "Boat People", big shots with yachts from Chicago--who are the same exact way Liz
  22. "Dick Cheney accidently shot a fellow hunter, a 78 year old lawyer. In fact, when people found out he shot a lawyer, his popularity is now at 92 percent" Jay Leno Liz
  23. Pummeling that show off Pete with snowballs! Wow, Terrorist, 84mph winds is horrible! Don't know the wind speeds here, but last night it was just roaring. Kept the flashlight in my pocket! JDoors--was there lightning with your thundersnow? I just learned that lightning is pink when it is snowing and purple when it is freezing rain--has to do with the atmospheric conditions. I never paid attention before, I'm going to now. Hondaboy, does your city put snowplows on the garbage trucks when it snows down there? I know they do that in Kentucky...of course, in Michigan, we have actual snowpl
  24. Neat site, Bubbabob and thanks! No Jr. Big Mac? Thats ok, don't want to know after seeing the results of the "big" big mac Liz
