I clean or dive into a home improvement "construction project". That allows me either to concentrate on the task at hand or using that task to think and "sort things out". Like the new picture of the kids, Steve. Rub-a-Dub-Dub Liz

Banned From A Board And I Didn't Do Nothing Wrong
blim replied to gamefreaks420's topic in Open Chat
Agreed! I'm too much of a Dummy to attempt Photoshop, but if Barb and Gamesfreak like those links, and knowing how talented Handplane is, this is a keeper. Liz -
Happy Birthday, Crofty! It's late and I'm sorry, but hoping you had a wonderful day Liz

Oooh, pretty. Today's picture is Mars. Makes me miss the beach. Thank you, Chappy! Son's girlfriend is taking Astronomy this semester, sending your link to her Liz

November's bill was $80, usually runs $60 AND it was a very mild, dry month (hung clothes on the line a LOT!) Received December's bill today--$208 Now, it was an estimate and estimates usually run high, but it is almost double what it normally is for December (usually it's $100- $125). If I get time, I'm going to run out and check my meter to get a better guesstimate. Argh, I hate estimated bills! And I know exactly what would happen if this thread was named "natural gas" Too many men in this forum! Liz

I'm with Chappy on the teachers taking part--the teachers are supposed to SUPPORT their students! Sure, teachers shake their heads and mutter, "freshmen....", that's ok, but they should not condone any hazing. Liz

QUOTE(macmarauder @ Jan 4 2006, 06:16 PM) ... 5 things that either help make you lazy or tempt you gorge in unhealthy food. 1. PMS 2. Drinking 3, 4 and 5. see numbers one and two! The best way to avoid food is to of course, don't keep "anything good" in the house. Find a special low calorie food you love--a treat of sorts. Mine is salads. They're expensive, but I just love salads and I splurge on them when trying to diet. Oooh, Oriental food, too! Darn, now I'm hungry. Hunger Pangs only last 20 minutes and also occur when you're thirsty. So when you feel hungry, get a drink (that can

I think some students and parents should go to the next School Board Meeting and bring this up! Liz

Pat, as much as we love our families, hoo, boy, do I know what you mean about "peace and quiet". My Hubby went back to work, too; Daughter worked all day and Son was with Girlfriend all day. Talk about Peace and Quiet! Lovely! It was too dark today to see well inside, but it was "somewhat" warm, so I did some much needed work outside--emptied the rainbarrels (we went from "one more good rain needed" to suddenly WINTER), mulched the berries with leftover pine greens and depooped Sandydog's yard. Gotta do that stuff when the snow is gone! Here's to routine and normalicy! (OK, with me, its "s

Ewww, Scrapple sounds like "head cheese in disquise"--glad I didn't read Terrorists link last night... I used to work in a grocery store deli when deli's had a wide variety of stuff. The Senior Citizens used to buy head cheese and oh, did I give them a hard time everytime they bought it (I was always compelled to clean the slicer afterwards). They would laugh and say, "give me an extra 1/2 pound"..Yuck! Liz

OK, what is Scrapple, Terrorist?? And what are those d*mned horns called?!? Y'know what's nice about New Years Day being on a Sunday? Heh, heh, heh, New Years Eve Part Two! Nog all around again! Argghhhh. And Cashews. Don't worry, I'm not dirving... Skol! Liz

Owwwwieeee, TicToc! Nice tribute to the little guy! Lets see, I got cookie sheets for Hubby, chocolate covered cherries for Hubby, replacement outdoor Christmas Lights for Hubby (Swag lights, been looking for them for the past 3 years!) cashews for Hubby, OK, those were really for me...but.... When you've been married as long as I have, you just buy your partner things for the house! (and chocolate covered cherries and cashews ) Liz

Happy Birthday To Domingus, Uberpenguin And Mboverload
blim replied to sultan_emerr's topic in Open Chat
Oh, my gosh, we have triplets! And what a fun birthday to have. Hope you each have a wonderful day. Happy Birthdays, Domingus, Uberpenguin and Mboverload! Liz -
Oooh, also brought the curly-paper noise makers (the ones that curl up and shoot out when you blow them, what are they called??) twoot! The kids and buddies flew in like a herd of vultures, scooped up some board games, the 3 frozen pizzas and a bag of gingerbread cookies and off they went to Lauren's house---so Lauren's mom gets the gang But that's good--Lauren's Mom is a stickler for drinking and driving, too! Liz

nog and cashews have arrived! So....are other folks opting to stay home just like we are? Could have gone out, but the possibility of kids hanging out here (having to make sure who drinks doesn't drive) and the first day of me having a cold (feels like a whopper) are keeping us home. Skol! Liz

I think it's a combination of things--some new kids with "smart mouths" The new kids not knowing how to handle some of the "Seasoned Helpers" when they may be a little cranky and in need of a happynap (the old timers know to just ignore 'em or try humor) And the "Seasoned Helpers" who sometimes post when they're a little cranky and in need of a happynap (although sometimes those posts have me laughing my head off!) A lack of Moderators--there are some who are wonderful, but they have lives, too! Liz

Good idea, DD! I'll bring the curly paper horns to go with the Party Hats! And in case I forget due to Happy New Year! Liz

Happy Birthdays Marsh and Mawood! Hope you both have a wonderful day Liz
