  1. From reading the info at the link I think that BT has shut off access using their line. Without the access I think they need to pay someone else for access. I don't know how things work over the other side of the big pond.
  2. WinXP? Start > Run > Type eventvwr.msc and press Enter. Click on Security at the left and look for logon/logoff and Account logon under Catagory in the right window.
  3. I think they messed up contacting BT Voyager and telling them their plans. You should read this regarding those free broadband ISPs. Sometimes free isn't free. Crave Talk: Which 'free' broadband ISP is best?
  4. Print Screen won't take pictures of your hardware. It is used to capture images shown on your desktop.
  5. I see it didn't work. Oh well that's Fireflop for you. heheheheee
  6. Board rules state that we cannot help someone bypass school security measures. Sorry. This topic will have to be locked.
  7. Is that 750n a mid-size case or the mini? I took a look through the several old PCs that I have laying about and one is a HP Pavilion 6633C mini style.
  8. Have you gone to Windows Update to get the .NET updates yet? A couple of security holes need patching. hahahahaha
  9. Try rewording it. It might help if we knew what you actually are trying to accomplish?
  10. Sounds like maybe too many programs are trying to start at Startup. When XP is fully loaded how many icons do you have in your taskbar by the clock?
  11. I stuck XP Home on an older Gateway with a Celeron and 256MB of RAM. The customer just uses it for email, games included with XP and surfing the 'net. He is happy. It does take awhile to load even though I tweaked the settings. I also turned off the fluff.
  12. We lucked out when Buffalo and surrounding areas got hit. For once it didn't come as far as us to the east end of Lake Ontario. I think some people are still without power after 2 weeks.
  13. I tried selling my Jamis Earth Cruiser road bike on craigslist. I didn't get one hit at $200. I bought the bicycle brand new for $400 and only road it less than 10 miles. I figured one of the Syracuse University students would jump on it.
  14. I would stick another 256MB of RAM on that board to install XP Home on for now. During the next year consider building a low dollar system that can run XP capably. My Socket A AMD XP setup with 512MB cost about $500 to build 4 years ago and could be duplicated for far less now. I am considering building a new low budget system that would actually be Vista capable , but XP Pro would get installed. XP Home support will end in a couple of years yet Pro will still be supported until 2011. By 2011 Vista may be improved and cheaper.
  15. I hate to say it, but to sell a HP the custom case may make the deal sweeter.
  16. Try to carefully slip it back in. If it goes back in easily it just may come off again when unplugging something.
  17. When did they open a Hot to Trot on Lyell? I know of the one on W. Ridge near 104. You haven't found the hot chick hangouts yet?! There's quite a few right at the hospital. Many are students. You should check out Dinosaur BBQ on Court. Try the Pork BBQ platter. Absolutely malicious!!! I have ate at the original one in Syracuse many times. Great atmosphere, fantastic blues music and excellent food. Maybe I'll have to take you on a tour of Rochester. hehehehe
  18. Children are still starving in the U.S., but nobody wants to take care of them either.
  19. How about a guide to all of the best places to get pizza, subs and chicken wings in Rochester. Include the phone numbers, locations and if they deliver. Everytime I get stuck in Strong Memorial I like to order out because the hospital's food sucks. Another thing to list is any computer cafes. You could also list all of the hotspots where the chicks hang out.
