I'll still be shoveling. We got hit with 18" of new snow the last two days and more is in sight. I thought I would spend the weekend building a computer for a customer, but I already have it together with XP Home SP1a loaded. NewEgg had the parts to me quick.

From the E-Cycling site I found that all of the transfer stations in my county accept old electronics which includes computers and monitors. Now all I need to do is make room in the back of my truck and load the junked parts. I think I can reclaim one 9 x 10 room if I get rid of it all. Heck I might even find my kitchen table.

Norton Av Corprate Edition 7.60.926
TheTerrorist_75 replied to rhema7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Try symantec as the password. It is the usual default. Check out some of these links for the Norton problem. Password management in Symantec System Center 6.x or earlier Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition or Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition prompts for password when uninstalling clients More tips that include changing registry. Check here for the drivers. Select Portables> Satellite> A10-S177. You can now filter for OS and what driver, patches or updates that are needed. Toshiba Support -
They crack the whip on the UPS drivers here. My step-uncle put in over thirty years with them.

It's beginning to look a lot like X-Mas. Three inches of fresh new snow with more to follow. Every item shipped yesterday. The Sparkle power supplies are coming from California. The memory for my computer is coming from Memphis and the rest from Edison, NJ. UPS has a terminal at the airport 30 miles away plus a warehouse. Now we'll see just how fast the big brown truck is.

I strip out the electronic components and plastic from the cases and sell the metal to a scrap yard once I get a load. My local landfill has a section for recycling the electronics. I aslo heard that a new computer store opened not far from me that accepts all old computers that are worthless which they then recycle.

Windows Freezes When Uninstalling Drivers
TheTerrorist_75 replied to fubz's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Boot into the Bios and make sure Wake on LAN isn't enabled. If that doesn't work shut the computer off, unplug it then remove the Ethernet card from the computer. Plug the computer back in and start it in Safe Mode. Try removing the drivers then. -
I didn't opt for the faster shipping. I checked the $2.99 fee for quicker processing. It means if my order was received and payment was verifed by my bank before noon PST the order would ship today. All went well and it's on it's way.

I refer to the two of them as fatboy (270 lbs. of muscle with a gut) and cro (short for his Indian heritage).

Question About Virtual Memory
TheTerrorist_75 replied to StealthG's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Actually allowing Windows to manage it works quite well. If you want to set it yourself set the minimum to 1.5 times the amount of memory and the maximum three times the amount. Minimum = 1920 Maximum = 3840 -

Download and install Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 first then go to Windows Update. You can also download the necessary updates plus other additional patches from ERPMan. ERPMan's Windows 98 & Windows ME System Updates Page If you don't mind experimenting try: UNOFFICIAL Windows98 Second Edition Service Pack 2.1a -
Answers.com bought FAQFarm. Here's the link for the GM/GMC section: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/FAQ/514 The weather has turned chilly with rain. We're supposed to get lake effect snow this weekend. Normal for here. At least my major outdoor projects are done. I do need to change the oil in the mowers. NewEgg is supposed to send my parts out ASAP seeing as I paid for a rush order. That was a fast spent $600 for parts. At least I can keep busy this weekend working on the computers. The plate tamper is back home. They were happy to return once I paid them a visit. Of course the couple of gorillas I

I finally have a moment to relax for a short while. Things have been hectic for the past few weeks. I graduated to the Junior class at GeekU, cleaned my property of downed trees caused by the last couple seasons of winter storms, repaired several computers and prepared my trucks for the upcoming work season. Now all I have to do is study and complete all of the new exercises at GeekU, build one new computer for a client and upgrade my computer before I go back to work. Spring cleaning time is here.

Items In Add/remove Programs
TheTerrorist_75 replied to blim's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
If the computer is out of warranty get rid of the Dell Support items. The Apple stuff may relate to iTunes or Quicktime. He may use either or both. Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 may be useful for editing photos and storing them. All that other stuff that came with Office is limited use and can be removed. -
When faced with a poorly designed page using Opera just go to View then click Fit to width. This will force the page to fit your screen.

There may have been a problem at their end. I would contact the administrator.

Clearing Index.dat In 98se
TheTerrorist_75 replied to mystified's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
CCleaner will delete the Index.dat. Be careful of what you check for cleaning when setting it up. When downloading it uncheck the Yahoo Toolbar option. Also if you attempt to run the Issues option beware of what is on the list before allowing the fix. Always allow it to backup. Create a folder in My Documents for CC Backup. If something is broken you can just double click the backup file to restore it. -
Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

That's about as good as I could draw my mouse.
