Believe it or not there was a problem with NIS2006 even if you did agree to the EULA. Read the following site. It call for an uninstall/reinstall. If it were me I would remove it period and install a stand alone anti-virus, firewall and other anti-malware apps. http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t21829.html

Strange Message During Shutdown
TheTerrorist_75 replied to spirittoo's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
That's for your Lexmark printer. Seems like the printer's program isn't shutting down when you shutdown your computer. Is the printer shut off before you shutdown the computer? Was the print queue empty? -
Panda 2005 Memory Hog?
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
That is with the heuristic, firewall, anti-spyware, cookie blocking, email protection, IM protection and many other features running. This is an all in one product, not just a stand alone anti-virus. There are 12 diiferent applications for Panda in the Task Manager with the Anti-Spyware, heuristic and email scanner using 44,000K and the AV Engine using 39,000K. Opera uses 34,000K. Take AVG anti-virus, AVG Anti-Spyware and Kerio firewall plus some program designed to detect heuristic intrusions and combine their memory usage together and you would have a far higher usage. The only thing I hav -
Panda 2005 Memory Hog?
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Right now Panda 2007 with firewall and TruPrevent (heuristic scanner) is using 119,000K total for all of it's apps on my PC. I only have 512MB of RAM with XP and this PC is fairly fast. -
Make sure to re-enable all protection in Spyware Blaster so those entries are placed back into the registry where they belong.

Panda 2005 Memory Hog?
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I have been using Panda since 2002 and haven't had a problem with it regarding resources. When it first starts up it will access memory to check the system then settle down. That tracking cookie didn't send out information to any source outside of Panda. It sent them your system specs and what was found during the scan. Nothing insecure. -
If you are using an anti-spyware program such as AdAware SE or Spyware Blaster and etc. or an anti-virus program, you probably just deleted their folder that contains the sites they block. Also IESpyad may place such a list in the reg. Check all of those programs to see if they are crippled and re-update them. In fact you may need to reinstall them.

You need to post the exact error word for word here so we can diagnose it. We can't see your computer screen. -

How did you manage to get a legal version of XP Home for $25 when they sell XP Home OEM for $115? -
Windows Skin Not Being Retained After Restart
TheTerrorist_75 replied to Honda_Boy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I posted this at G$ for someone that was interested in the same thing. http://www.homenetworkhelp.info/index.php?...cast-2006-07-31 -
That's much better than my crazy friend Chris who hit a deer with his truck and thinking it was dead tried to cut it's throat so it would bleed out. He was shocked when that deer stood up with him standing over it. He got the ride of his life through a X-Mas tree farm. Those branches cut the heck out of his face and arms and bruised him head to toe. He finally stabbed it to death. Now he will never approach a downed deer without touching it with something long like a branch to see if it's dead. We do bust his butt to this day.

The only raw seafood I used to eat was clams and oysters. After the transplant they're are not allowed in my diet. In fact they tell me I have to make sure everything is cooked thoroughly. Yuck!

Be careful out there tonight. There are far too many amateurs out partying and driving.

Seagate is to follow soon. The Hitachi is the first to be released and shown at CES. LaCie had a so called 1TB drive, but it was 4x250GB drives in an enclosure. Can you just picture defragging that Hitachi.

25 french frys has nearly double the potassium . Basically the list I have to follow. http://www.drugs.com/CG/HIGH_POTASSIUM_FOODS_LIST.html

Bananas are great, but you should be aware of your potassium levels before binging on them or any other source of potassium. Too much potassium can lead to a heart atteck or death.

ZRX1200 docile?! hehehe I thought that of my old KZ900 until it dumped me downshifting and cracking the throttle at 60 on the highway to pass a slowpoke. I remember that road rash well.

Java is updated to JRE 6.0 (1.6.0). I set the security setting for IE in SpywareBlaster. I definitely am locking this laptop down. The kids may get mad, but oh well. The main games that matter are Pogo. Liz plays them to reduce her stress. With those kids she needs it. I did download and install SP1a and am now watching as the next 61 critical updates install. I will see how the laptop reacts then try SP2. Thanks. Mark as resolved. All updates (108 + SP2) are installed and it still comes up clean on all scans.

Yes I needed some guidance to clean this laptop. Thanks for the SDFix reminder. Sorry if I sounded a bit condescending or terse but the laptop owner was driving me nuts because her kids couldn't live without MySpace or AIM. I have had three phone calls since I picked this up Saturday afternoon. On top of that I quit smoking four days ago and I needed a cigarette more than those brats needed MySpace. Besides that, this is for a friend and therefore a freebie. SDFix: Version 1.71 Run by Liz - Mon 03/12/2007 / 18:23:28.08 Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] Running From: C:\Documents and Sett

I have already downloaded and ran AVG Anti-Spyware, AdAware SE, GMer. Scanned with Housecall. I will be providing the logs soon. I have also installed AVG 7.5 AV and scanned. I went to Add or Remove and removed any of the questionable programs from the list and have booted into Safe mode and removed any of the infected files plus folders still left behind plus some I discovered while searching such as BVER.BAT, ToshDefs.reg, TSession.reg and a couple of others all associated with trojans. I have also used ATF to clean files on all accounts, Used ProcessExplorer to turn off one trojan to regai
