Well I don't know about sony but I do know many manufacturors are making their pc's preloaded. It is up to the customer to make an image when they purchase the pc. Some do put a "restore" partition on a hidden partition of the drive. I really can't help but that is just the way things are going now. Look on some of their sites they offer a "recovery" cd for extra cost. (dell) M

If someone post a problem that is not very common, when the problem is solved review what the problem is and steps taken to fix it. What worked and what didn't. This can be done with everyday problems. M

You would have to kill services that XP loads. I had Pro on my duron700 with 128 megs of ram. It ran better after I put another 128 stick in. Still going, in the process of a fresh install.

mac I understand I am 6'4" about 320lbs. I have more crap wrong with my back from working than I care to list. I hate trying to sleep because being in one position for any lenght of time hurts.
