  2. After finally locating a practice program similar to what I am trying to create, I came up with this code so far. import java.util.Scanner; public class threems{ public static void main(String Args[]){ Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); int x; int sum; int xCounter; int mean; sum = 0; mean = 0; { System.out.print("Enter values to determine Max, Min, and Mean: ");} x = input.nextInt(); while (x != -1); { sum = sum + x; xCounter = xCounter + 1; System.out.print("Enter next Value or -1 to quit: "); x = input.nextInt(); } if (xCounter != 0) { m
  3. OK I know this much is right (or at least I think it is) import java.util.Scanner; public class threems{ public static void main(String Args[]){ Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); Now I need to make it ask for input then give me a Min, Max, and Mean from it. I'm just not sure how to do that.
  4. thanks man!. I'll take look through that article and run through my notes again. I think I missed something in my notes so I'm gonna check them again.
  5. here's what I've written so far. Whether I'm even close to being on the right track or not, I don't know. I just know I'm getting 5 errors when trying to compile. public class threems{ public static void main(String Args[]){ Java.util.scanner; int x; x = input.next; Int(); while (true) { if(sentinel_value==-1) } } } it's getting three errors. also, why it sucks to work with only one screen on this crap: The only other system set up to program is my old Desktop that's in pieces right now cause of the new one. I got lazy and decided to work on the laptop. Big mistake.
  6. Well i was given this assignment and am without my book right now (should have it with me tomorrow). I don't remember the teacher going over this (this is one of few classes am actually awake all the way through). I hope somebody here can help me out: Write a program that will prompt for the user to input an integer. Continue to take input until a sentinal value is given. (I recommend a negative number) Once input is complete, print out the mean, min, and the max of the inputted numbers. You'll need to use an infinite loop and break it when you get the sentinal value. You will also need varia
  7. 7 this morning. Pic courtesy of my dad (like heck I was awake at 7) then about noonish (me with the camera, like it matters) hey whadya know. My post count on this post is my Car's year model (1996)
  8. I just watched the news and there's apparently been a lot of wrecks on I-24. My parents had gone out to eat and spotted an overturned car in a ditch and called 911. For some reason the city and the rest of TN weren't as prepared for this as they were all those times that it didn't snow. Man.
  9. Old Man Winter came back with a VENGEANCE tonight. It's a friggin blizzard out there. I had power steering on the way home. Boy I was poking along on the way home. 2200lb Civic + tight geared B16 + snow, slush, and ice = no fun. I shifted real early and never got over 40MPH. My car still has about 50lbs of snow on it. And there's more piling up on it now.
  10. Ouch that sucks. My motherboard on my old laptop got toasted but luckily my hard drive survived. It's now an external hard drive. I had to service my current my laptop myself. I was not gonna wait for HP to deal with it. Luckily it was just improperly applied thermal paste on the CPU so I just cleaned it and applied some fresh Arctic Silver 5. I probably voided my warranty with the last one but I ain't tellin them what I did if anything else comes up. To avoid having my data lost, I keep a lot of my stuff in multiple locations. I have much of my school work (all computer classes) on my laptop,
  11. Oi, it's frickin below freezing here now.
  12. My temporary XP desktop on my new rig (it's changing to Vista Home Premium): Theme - Windows Media Center Royale on XP Home SP2
  13. March 2nd = abso-friggin-lutely beautiful day. Felt great, drove with the windows down. Ran the car through a brushless automatic to get the salt off (might hand wash tomorrow to get rid of water spots, exhaust carbon and brake dust). What a gorgeous day. I hope there's more to come.
  14. The quiet hum of a brand new PC's fans. Oh man is this new one quieter. Passive Heatpipe motherboard cooling, 4 larger but quieter fans (3 120mm and 1 200mm set at low speed vs. noisy twin 80mm fans with no speed control), larger more efficient heatsink and fan with heatpipes and properly functioning AMD Cool 'n' Quiet Technology. Nice. By the way, new PC = Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor (old: Athlon 64 3500+ Venice), 4GB DDR2 800 RAM (old: 1GB DDR 400), 320GB SATA300 HDD (old: 250GB SATA300 + 80GB ATA133) and adding another 250GB later, everything else is a reuse from the old rig, namely the twin
  15. Certainly looks better than mine. I always wind up with $400 laptops. My dad said when I leave for a University (if I leave for one, I'm gettin a 2-year at the college I'm at right now), he'd get me higher end $1500-2000 laptop (I'm probably gettin an Alienware). For now I'm stuck with a Compaq Presario C500 (Celeron 440, upgraded to 1.5GB of RAM, 80GB HDD, Vista Basic, Intel 945G graphics). I think it looks alright but I bet that off center screen would drive me insane.
  16. you were lookin at Fileplanet's membership fee. I prefer Filefront. They are free and don't have waits.
  17. It's ADD, I'm the same way. I usually have to go somewhere, where there is very little distraction to read. No joke, the bathroom is one of the best places to read. There's no TV or Computer in there to distract me. I have insane vision problems though.
  18. Try Stepmania. Like Frets on Fire being a free Guitar Hero, Stepmania is a free DDR. Something is wrong with Frets on Fire's current release. It won't open correctly and constantly fails to start. Also sign up for bemanistyle.com. Go to Simulation then Search SimFiles and you can search for any song you want. I love Stepmania cause there are anime OP/ED and other anime songs out the hind end for it but there are plenty of others. I have some Dragonforce, Dream Theater, Disturbed and other stuff on mine.
  19. As long as it can fit a standard ATX size PSU then you are good. Just search newegg.com for one. They have a gigantic selection with ratings and reviews to help you pick one out.
  20. nothing against Indians. My economics teacher was an Indian and he was one of my favorite teachers. Funny as heck. He had an accent but it was understandable. This guy on the phone was harder than crap to understand. Also, my friend got his DSL going. There was a screw up on the install of the phone line in his house. A tech came out and fixed it.
  21. Do you have screen size adjustments in your graphics settings. 1024x768 is the max res usable on old school CRT's so you should be good. I used to watch my anime on TV with my laptop (27" Sanyo FlatScreen CRT and an older 27" RCA Standard CRT). All I did was hook it up with my old laptop (that ran 1024x768 standard) and set the ATI drivers to clone the display. From there I went to the TV display adjustments in the ATI menu and adjusted the size and position of the screen. On my current laptop (runs 1280x800 widescreen standard) I had to go into the Intel graphics setting, set the TV as an ind
  22. Itou Kanako - Heartbreaking Romance Buono! - Renai Rider Sugita Tomokazu - Kentai Life Returns! (I can't even understand this song and it has me rollin, actually I can pick up a few words here and there and from what little I understand, it's hilarious)
  23. Picked even more Sakakibara Yui - Katayoku no Icarus Shimotsuki Haruka - Kazahane I'm loving the Irish flute going on in these songs. These 2 are great songs that are kind of a familiar style for good drama anime OP/ED songs. They are the OP and ED to H20 ~Footprints in the Sand~.
  24. I'm a gamer and fansub viewer. Nuff said. My favorite games are primarily NOT on Mac and my favorite codec pack and video players for anime fansubs are not compatible with Mac either (or Linux ). Plus I'd say Hardware is the biggest reason. Customization and upgradability (and building them yourself). Plus Mac has always confused the crap outta me. Guess what, Linux does too and I can use it on a PC. So I can use either a familiar or confusing OS on the same machine with a boot loader and it run full blast. If I'm not mistaken, performance takes a blow when using Boot Camp doesn't it? Plus, I
  25. Oi, 3.33 for 93 octane. $29 for 8.6 gallons And to top it off, I got total crap gas mileage on the last tank. just barely 26MPG. I need to clean/replace the air filter. Also wouldn't hurt to replace a few other filters too. I'm thinkin of pitchin the AEM intake though. Nothing wrong with it, I just want a different one. I'm thinkin of gettin a Password JDM Carbon Fiber Power Chamber Intake. It's designed to get a good overall power increase but it gives a pretty good boost to low to mid range power (daily driving ranges) so it could help in fuel economy.
