  1. Nope, Columbia State. One of the first community colleges and THE first Community College in Tennessee.
  2. ya know Ad Block Plus for FireFox is an awesome extension.
  3. Ha. C-State, EVERY student has a college email. When you sign up to go to school there, you get one. It's also your login to use the computers. We have a ton of computers that all require a student account and password to access. Even the wireless needs that stuff. We is high tech Actually our school is just as up-to-date on computer technology (if not more) as many big Universities out here.
  4. I finally sourced my Back-Up light problem. They would randomly work then recently they just went out completely. I found the plug to them on the transmission and the wire was broken. I wound up breakin another wire but after messing with it for a while I Jerry-rigged in some new wire and taped it up and got it working. I also sourced a leak in my "trunk" area. Int he spare tire compartment, there was a split in the metal in the very back. It was wet back there still so I got some paper towels and cleaned it up. Then I duct taped the living crap out of the hole in the metal. I also got rid of
  5. New one for the main rig. Removed the icons of games I don't play much and added the Office 2007 Icons I'll most likely use.
  6. I'm pretty sure it's when Besttechie.net gets a hit from a Google search.
  7. Have a good one my friend You're 2 years older than my mom and 4 years younger than my dad. You're old
  8. Well, the School has replaced 2003 with 2007 on all the machines and all our books are for 2007. That's why I go it otherwise, I'd probably still be rockin OpenOffice.org. I didn't even notice anything about showing ID. Our ID's suck though. It's just a mass printed card that the student signs and it has a bar code on the back to use in the library.
  9. your age doesn't matter. You just have to have a college email (basically if you have an email that ends in .edu, your eligible). I'm so glad my teacher told me about this caue I've been wanting MS Office forever instead of using OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice got the job done but I can't use it for my CIS classes anymore now that our school has completely switched over to 2007. All the books are for 2007 now.
  10. Microsoft is running a site called TheUltimateSteal.com. There you can purchase and download Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate for $59.95. No joke. I was just in class and the teacher told us about it. I got it and now I'm rockin the the latest and greatest Office for only $59.95. All you need is a College eMail address as proof that you are a student. It creates an account and password. You fill in your credit card number and address and such and they give you a download link. You can also purchase a back-up DVD for like $12.95. I just downloaded mine since I have a relatively quick connection a
  11. Actually that should probably be able to handle HD .mkv's. I have a laptop with a Celeron 440M that can handle HD. Even my old Mobile Sempron 2800+ Laptop could handle HD .mkv's. The the vids are 720p 1280x720. I use S-Video out to my old 27" CRT FlatScreen Sanyo. I've kinda quit doing that though cause of the hassle. I just watch all my anime and stuff on my main computer on its 19" LCD. Lot easier to start videos and control them on it. If your TV has a VGA or DVI in then you could use that to hook your computer up. No Media Center required. Also, I've found that a really good player for thi
  12. OK, then I'm going 64-bit and I guess I'll just get the Corsair unless I can find better RAM for a decent price.
  13. OK, so does the 64-bit version handle games correctly? Also, I won't be using onboard graphics. I'll be using twin GeForce 7600GT's (256MB GDDR3) at first then I will changing to a single 8800GTS G92 (512MB GDDR3). The Crucial with the LED's is just the same as the Crucial without it, it's just they are only 2GB with faster timing versus the 4GB of either Corsair or A-DATA with slightly slower timings. If the 64-bit version handles games fine (CoD4, BF2, HL2, CS:S, NFS: Pro Street, Stepmania), then I'll just get the 64-bit version of Home Premium and get the 4GB of Corsair probably.
  14. Temps plummeted recently here. It's colder than crap (for Tennessee). We had a pretty good snow a few days ago but it wasn't quite cold enough for it to stick around over night. Now it's that cold, but there's no snow. When I went to work earlier today it was 22 F according to the water plant's sign. The manager at work said last night though, his thermometer at his house went down to 2 F and woke up to 8 F.
  15. I was recently browsing Newegg for RAM for my new rig that's coming along. I had picked out one set finally a while back. Then I found another that was the same with an extra feature and is the same price still. Well, now I found another but I have questions and need help picking. First off, the motherboard is an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition. OK, I had first picked out 2GB of DDR2 800 Crucial Ballistix RAM with 4-4-4-12 Timing then I found the Ballistix Tracer version which both decorative LED's and an Activity LED. I picked these because of the very high rating and they were on the
  16. Well my OEM copy of XP Home SP2 is only supposed to be on one machine but I have 2 SP1 licenses but no disc. I installed my SP2 on 2 other machines using these 2 license keys and called MS to activate one. I told them I didn't have the disc to that one but to another and they gave me the code after telling them the license key. The other somehow activated through the internet no problem. I've done it on a third to fix someone's computer and called MS and said I was repairing a "customer's" (friend) PC but only had my OEM SP2 disc. Same thing, they gave me the code and I was on my merry way. I'
  17. With Newegg, it helps that they have a warehouse in the same state
  18. It appears to be working just fine. Boy, you're like Newegg. You know that? That was FAST.
  19. Got my hard drive Ever figure out if the copy of Vista can be used on a different PC?
  20. I got it off Konachan (konachan.com). Just search Shana (the pic is from Shakugan no Shana and the character's name is Shana). I've seen 2 versions. This widescreen, and a full screen with the series logo.
  21. Wow, you need some new stuff. Only thing I'm listening to right now is the clacking of keys on keyboards and the Web Design professor calling roll.
  22. OK, gimme a few days to get my check deposited in my account (I've already got plenty in there, I just want the check in first). Do you have paypal? I don't think I really need the PSU. The system I was going to put it in is getting retired soon anyway so I don't wanna worry with it now.
