  1. Awww, Mac. Just when I thought I needed a hug, you need an even bigger one. And a root beer float with a cherry on top. Honestly darlin', you're still so very young and have so much life to live and heart to share with someone. So keep on doing what you're doing. And please remember............. Yesterday's gone, and tomorrow don't count. Do your best everyday.
  2. If you use mulch around your house be very careful about buying mulch this year. After the Hurricane in New Orleans many trees were blown over. These trees were then turned into mulch and the state is trying to get rid of tons and tons of this mulch to any state or company who will come and haul it away. So it will be showing up in Home Depot and Lowes at dirt cheap prices with one huge problem; Formosan Termites will be the bonus in many of those bags. New Orleans is ne of the few areas in the country were the Formosan Termites has gotten a strong hold and most of the trees blown down were al

  5. Charter's support is great! They speak english without an accent, and are very helpful. Even with "puter stupid" n00bs like me. Without a doubt, call them for your setup.
  6. Jeesch, don't they make a capacitor with easy install for that application? It's no like there ain't no one out there with that problem. Cars make noise... It could be your system is hooked up wrong too..... Who did it?
  7. Hummmm, upgrade your sound drivers? Check to connection on seating the card?
  8. Well...... we all know just how good THAT is. We use Acronis. I'm rather "'puter stupid" and don't find it difficult. I think Norton and Symantec is pricing themselves off the market.
  9. I've read them both. Super!
  10. Great book! read about it here Another great series of stories are free to read on the net is Honor Harrington The Baen website has a ton of sci-fi books to read on-line.
  11. The following came from an anonymous Mother in Austin, Texas... Things I've learned from my Boys (honest and not kidding): 1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep. 2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite. 3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant. 4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to sprea
  12. Su Wong marries Lee Wong. The next year, the Wong's have a new baby. The nurse brings over a lovely, healthy, bouncy, but definitely Caucasian, white baby boy. "Congratulations," says the nurse to the new parents. "Well Mr.Wong, what will you and Mrs.Wong name the baby?" The puzzled father looks at his new baby boy and says, "Well, two Wong's don't make a white, so I think we name him Sum Ting Wong.
  13. Best wishes and many happy returns.
  14. Everyone has given great ideas for your time on-line. I find myself in the same position too often. My answer is GOOGLE. I just think of something I want to know about, learn about or just something that popped into my mind. When I do that I end up chasing links for hours. Have you considered trying to learn a program? There are so many free ones out there that would increase your computer skills. If you like pictures.... try out PhotoStory3 and LightArtist Both are simple to use and quite fun.
  15. Jeesch Mac, how will you get a train to run outdoors? Err, I mean will it be an electric one like "N" gage or HO? Too bad I need too much $$ for this(almost antique) "N" New York Central Passenger set up. I have tons of track and even the transformer. Mmmm......... The goabbits look like they can do the job. Cute lil' rascals.
  16. The BEST music! Thanx for the link.
  17. Ok, three gals now. We have the majority!
  18. So Mac, what kind of projects are you up to now? I could use a herd of robotic weeders for my flower gardens. Can you build them like little bunnies that ONLY eat weeds?
  19. You know.... if you bought a deal, maybe it was old stock. The battery may need replacing. Sitting on a shelf is just as bad as long term use. Good reading here
  20. But I wanna go outside and play. Beers taste sooo much better on the deck.
  21. The best framing lumber I've seen lately is the finger jointed stuff. First time in a long time I've seen a banded stack of 2x4's stay flat and straight until you use them up.
  22. Arrrrgh! Stop raining already! Jeesh, all this weekend and next too. This is MAY! Ok, gimme a tall cold one it's a TV weekend.
  23. We have an area called the "Student Ghetto" that also happens to be in a "Historic District" Now, most homes were low-end on streets adjacent to the mansions. And are mostly divided into apartments for WMU students. The landlords aren't allowed to make changes like siding them because of the mitered corners on the old wood siding. Yeah, like peeling paint and rotten wood looks better? Bottom line, the rents are high because of the maintenance on them. And the streets look like a ghetto.
  24. Hold that thought Pete. My friends own a Honda dealer. When I looked into their hybred two years ago, they showed me the batteries. 150 Ni-Cad "D" cells!!!!!!!!!!! No way those are gonna last that long. Oh and of course the disposal would be ugly. BTW, A/C was optional/extra, installed by the dealer not at the factory.
