  1. Happy Birthday Falcon, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  2. So far so good here, no quakes and no volcanic activity to speak of. Maybe whatever the plates are doing will relieve the tension instead of creating more? OK I am and it isn't even dark here! Ha Ha! But the best thing is to be as prepared as possible, then just go on with life. I am not going to let fear of the whatif's and maybes of possible future disasters keep me in suspended lifestyle here. Just like California knows about the possible "big one" wiping them out, it hasn't happened yet. And the same with the NW. It is not exactly something they can truly pinpoint yet like a hurricane or
  3. Thanks for the laughs, though this one sounds like something I might say. "Tech support: What's on your monitor now, ma'am? Customer: A teddy bear my boyfriend bought for me at the 7-11." My answer though would be two small stuffed squirrels and a blue wood cat silhouette . And of course the 'zillions' of post it notes all around monitor screen. Ha Ha!!! Liz there is always hope for us!!! jk After all we did recognize these were funny! Pat. God bless everyone.
  4. Sure is nice to have "the list" here!!! Thanks everyone! One thing may need to be changed, as it is now a redirect by Microsoft to a new url. #20 Windows Updates? I can't quite remember for sure, but wasn't the original list maybe by Pete C on TTV board? and transferred over to G$, then later updated and re-compiled by Jay Lechnyr? Foggy memory here on all that. But glad it is still around on G$, and now here. One version is still up on Jay's site. Wasn't his screen name jdlech or something like that? Is he on board here, or anywhere anymore? Jay's site Pat. God bless everyone.
  5. Happy Birthday Marko_tomas, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  6. Yes Mac, we are here for you to talk to anytime. Liz, Thanks for the encouragement and hugs for hubby which he appreciates. Bozodog 3 inches out of square is not bad, I don't think ours is that good anywhich direction up/down front/back or side to side. Everytime I think about trying to line something up with something else I grumble and complain, but then eventually remember a (maybe PBS) special I saw several years ago about building houseboats where even levels wont work because of water bouyancy action under the house pontoons or whatever they are called. No leveling, use plumb bob and cha
  7. Happy Birthday Velda, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  8. And I thought our paper was bad at headlines!!! Those are really funny, Thanks. Pat. God bless everyone.
  9. Glad you folks liked the articles, I thought you might. Kind of pooped out tonight, helped hubby with redoing back deck steps' handrails. Old ones to old and rotted to use as a template, and then we decided to change things a bit which may or may not work out. You never can tell if something will actually work/fit anywhere on old house or even newer stuff we added on many years ago like deck due to settling and quakes and even train vibrations jostling things off kilter etc. (never mind the fact we have always jerryrigged things to fit house, not necessarily true to square etc.) So after try
  10. I think that the people who post enough for us to "know" them show us enough of their personalities to have an online recognizable presence. With plenty of posts to show themselves, I think it would be hard to be phony without noticeably tripping up here and there. So I think that "presence" is simply being oneself online or off, and allowing yourself to be yourself is a good thing!!! Whenever someone is real I think they have a certain special presence that is observable by all. I think too that most people gravitate to those who are real instead of phony baloney fakers, (other than those who
  11. Looks like it got solved on G$ thread??? I thought I would put link here if anyone wants to see what happened. G$ same question with solution? Pat. God bless everyone.
  12. It has stayed nearly the same for a week or so now here, $2.81 at our normal station. Sigh! This article gives some shirt tale effects of high oil prices. Oil Prices Increase Plastics Recycling Market as plastics prices increase Pat. God bless everyone.
  13. Hello everyone, Anyone want a bacon, tomato, egg, sweet onion sandwich??? We had them again tonight. We tend to eat them a lot during fresh tomato season. Also have extra tomatoes if anyone wants some. They are huge for Early Girls, and delicious! For the gardeners out there, here are some fun to read gardening columns (from Oregonian paper) links you might like. 14. Besttechie is a Family Pat. God bless everyone.
  15. These two stories moved me to tears over one individual doing his best to take care of people, then someone read the story in our Oregonian and now is planning to help the young man get more education. Father figure weathers it all to save family Family's tireless provider given chance to dream So many individuals in hurricane's wake, so many stories, only God knows them all, and only God can make good come out of such destruction. Pat. God bless everyone.
  16. Welcome Home Marsh!!! I answered you over on another thread, but in case you missed it, here's the link. Pat answering Marsh on this thread. Take care my friend, stick around and enjoy the best boards around. Pat. God bless everyone.
  17. Maybe he took a well earned vacation from boards after installing new mods here? That was about the last I saw him on boards. I too have wondered if he is ok, and miss seeing him around here. Pat. God bless everyone.
  18. Gee you guys, I thought I was considered the gabby one around here? 2000 posts? As for lurkers, I think we all have followed a link from someone, even Google, to some board for help, read that part, then checked out the rest of the site without ever signing up then or later. I would have lurked at TTV boards to check it out after hearing about it on TTV from Leo, but was such a newbie I didn't know I didn't have to sign up, so first thing I did was sign up and was scared to death to post for ages because I didn't know enough to even ask questions. Ha!!! I try to remember that it isn't a good i
  19. My heart still breaks when I think of that terrible tragedy. I still 'see' in my minds eye those brave dedicated firemen going into that building as it was collapsing.... weeping still. I hope and pray it never happens again, not here, not anywhere!!! We need to be ever vigilant, ever ready to defend our country no matter where the attack comes from, or in what manner it comes, or from whom it comes. And to always pray daily for our country and it's people. Thank You for the thread, and the link flatiron. Pat. God bless America. God bless everyone.
  20. Thanks everyone for anniversary greetings for us, and Liz right back at you with a bouquet of flowers for yours for the 13th!!! Now that's a date I think even I'd remember Ha!!! I have always had a hard time with dates, he picked out the date to be day after his birthday but then I forget that too...oh my!!! He thinks it is hilarious!!! Now I think maybe it would have been easier for me if it had been day before his bd, for 9th month 9th day thing, but who knows???? And it is so neat to have a newly-wed here too!!! Now Bozodog, that's more risk than most of us took in leaping into marria
  21. Happy Birthday Jose' (if memory serves me right here on your name, if not then I apologize for getting it wrong), May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  22. Nice work on the ebay woodwork. Now I bet you'll be getting all sorts of orders for signs from people. They also sell nicely at various Christmas bazaars and Saturday market sales etc in our area. Good way to earn some money with part time work, and have fun doing it. You already have good ideas to do your templates, now you can just expand upon that for other things, or get jigsaw or other design books, or online anything you see that you want to use for a project design is but a copy to the printer away. Don't let some art class, or any other class, grade determine what you can do. Just try
  23. Gee Whiz, You mean I wasn't in trouble, that it was board or internet troubles??? Phew .... Relief!!!! First day I have been back here (due to some stormy weather) since the other night. I thought the errors and no permissions etc was because I was in trouble (down to 3 of those warning square thingys) when I tried to come back to the boards after supper the other night, after posting a very heated rebuttal to someone on a since deleted thread. Glad I found this thread to see it wasn't what I thought it was. Pat. God bless everyone.
  24. shhhhh...He forgot about spitwads Liz....shhhhh... and we won't tell him...right? Pat. God bless everyone.
  25. I have to comment on this marriage partner thing!!! Hubby and I are celebrating 35 years of marriage today! We are so totally opposite, and stubborn etcccccc, used to fight alot over mostly stupid stuff, that it took an act of God to fix our marriage literally!!! But now we for the most part just laugh about how opposite we are, or 'chalk it up' as one of those 'men are from mars and women are from venus' things. Laughter is the best answer and being good friends most of all!!! We have weathered some serious storms of life together with God's help, and come out stronger and closer together.
