"Around here, the imbeciles even run into the back of Police cars with flashing lights. Two deputies in the burn unit after their Crown Vic got rearended and exploded when they were working a traffic stop last night." Pete, I am so sorry about the police deputies getting burned/injured by someone plowing into them. We will be praying for their full recovery. Yes that is sure a danger for anyone along side of the road, even the police. Has happened here too. A recent Oregon law in effect now that says you have to move over to the next lane if multiple lanes, when you see an emergency vehicle at

Hello to kidcnote, I am glad you have decided to join our great board family. We are a fun, wacky, gabby, peaceful, and even when needed we are a helpful bunch of people. We come from many places on the boards, TTV, G4, World Start, Leoville, and tech/security boards around the net, but the common ground is we love our BestTechie board the best of all, coming here for the camaraderie, and to destress from the world in a peaceful environment among friends. Look around the board, stop in at the cafe or other good spots to hang out, join in the threads anywhere you want. Glad to have you and all

So the good news is the stuff works, the bad news is it is unsafe in microwaves, glove compartments, and ice palaces, and hated by tire repair people and moles, but is a good bbq fire starter if you like rubberized chicken. Mac are you sure I couldn't take a frozen can of the stuff and just warm it up in the microwave for a few minutes? Do not ever do any of these things kids!!! Seriously, it does seem to have it's drawbacks, so how do you safely have it on hand for an emergency...like we are now in our early 60's, and affected with whatever that old age common memory problem is that I can't

Found a special cream that works very well for sensitive, dry, itchy skin last Spring at our Kaiser Pharmacy. It's an over the counter product. Unfortunately they are not currently stocking that particular Eucerin product, though I have requested it on special order. It works so well for my itchy dry hands and face, and it is non-allergenic, fragrance free, non greasy, no medicinal smell, dermatologist recommended. "Calming Creme", a dry skin therapy, by Eucerin. Might help your condition Pierce. Google it for UK website, though I didn't see this particular creme listed on that page. The U.S.

Surprisingly the date of the article was not April 1st. I guess every country has it's fringe believers that aliens are coming, and we have to do something now before an Independence Day type invasion, but oh my how serious they take it. As if we don't have enough troubles right here on earth with no discernible alien presence involvement, just man's inhumanity against humanity. P.S. I read a fairly recent article in the stack of newspapers by my chair, that there is a meteor heading our way to possibly wipe out a chunk of earth sometime in 2036. I think it was one chance in 3700 give or ta

Welcome to another new member, gamefreaks420. I hope you will like this place as much as we all do. We're a bit wacky at times, but can be helpful as needed, or just all around good company. Any way you look at our big family here, you'll be happy you are now one of us...I hope!!! Pat God bless everyone.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Hubby did know to tell tire people what had been used so they would be safe, and did go directly to a nearby tire shop (right at closing time) to check out the tire and it was the tire valve stem which they replaced free. He had put air in all the tires the day before, didn't notice any particular problems then. Tire shop said tires are good still for about another year or so, then if the car is still running ok we will see about getting new tires, but other than needing to add a quart a month or so of oil, the little Justy just keeps on going. Still getting a

Glad to have you both on board. I sure hope you like our peaceful corner of the world. We love our ever expanding community. We think this is the best place around anywhere, and hope you will too. And thanks Brandon for all the update information. Heading off to get some of them now. Happy Thanksgiving to you both. Pat. God bless everyone.

Maybe the better way would be to just work with her, teaching her about the programs you used and how when things are cleaned out, it shows in the log what they are/were. Then very patiently teach her that some things are dangerous to her and her computer. And show her these boards, so she can become a member and get help as she tries to learn things on her own plus have some fun while she's here too. Sometimes us gals get so insecure, scared etc. that we lash out in fear and ignorance, and what we really want is to have someone patiently teach us so we can deal with stuff on our own. We don't

Hello TK, haven't seen you around either board for a couple of days, are you OK...at least as ok as possible under the circumstances? I sent you a couple of PMs the other night in return for yours. Did you get them? Let me know how you are please? I am praying for you my friend. Pat. God bless everyone. -
The Random Randomness Thread Of Randomtivity
thesidekickcat replied to macmarauder's topic in Open Chat
I almost wish there was a closet that would be safe for me from my nightmares lately. Have had some doozies. I have no idea why I get them for nights even weeks at a time, different ones each night but repeated all night long, or how to not have anymore of them ever!!! One night was so bad last week, my hubby says he and the cat were shaking me, poking me, yelling at me etc. and I didn't wake up at all, just turned over and quieted down. I don't remember either him or the cat doing any of that at all, just the nightmare which was awful and it seemed to last all night. Isn't it strange what ha -
I am so thankful for this wonderful BestTechie board family, and glad to be back home!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Drive safe, don't eat or drink to much , and bring all the leftovers back to the cafe for the rest of us (Especially for Mac!!!)!!! Pat. God bless everyone.

I'm thankful for Jeff/Beluga and all the great people here at BestTechie. I am also greatful for Mac for doing the temporary boards for us. So Thank You Everyone. Happy Thanksgiving! And I posted this over on the gas price thread but think it should go here to to show what someone did that totally blessed us with his help. Quote from other thread's post of mine. I just want to tell folks about something that happened last night to my hubby as he was ready to leave the Intel Ronlier Acres campus in Hillsboro after work. Found he had a flat tire, and wasn't looking forward to changing the

I haven't been by any gas stations for about a week, lowest I saw then was $2.39. We'll travel cross town tomorrow for dinner, so will try to remember to check the station signs. The news today quoted someone who said it could drop a nickle by end of the weekend. Now if they do what is normal gas price routine for holidays, raise it a dime or more, then dropping it a nickle doesn't quite do it..but maybe they are doing better by us this year? I just want to tell folks about something that happened last night to my hubby as he was ready to leave the Intel Ronlier Acres campus in Hillsboro aft

Ahhhhhhhh!!!! Blood pressure returning to normal, pulse rate coming down, breathing at a more normal rate. Ahhhhhh! I feel so much better now that you clarified all that Chappy!!! Got kind of scared there for awhile. Thank You for reassuring us about the upcoming new rules. I thought we already had rules? but "Play Nice" works for me...most of the time! Pat God bless everyone.
-
But...but...but...but...Chappy, if you go and make us try to look like bunch of professionals with more rules and guidelines for posting etc; then are dress codes, and decorum, and no fun, only work, work, work to be next on the list? Oh no, say it ain't so Chappy!!! How on earth will we able to continue to be the happy go lucky, fun, wacky, helpful, wonderful, folksy place that is known far and wide for being the best family bunch that plays together, and works together, one for all and all for one, family group, if we have to be professional etc? We love the boards, and don't wa

Dear TK, I just went over and read your G4 thread, I am so sorry for all the dear people you have lost from your family. As I said before, I am praying for you and now will for the rest of the family too. So many hurting people and kids involved. Your kids look so sweet, thanks for the pictures. You need to put them here to for all to see. I said I would find the link for you that gave me the previous link in a thread sometime in June I think. I keep thinking I will sign up for this site someday, just haven't had time yet. It is more woman oriented, yet I think some men do post from the time -
Please Look At This, They Need Your Prayers
thesidekickcat replied to TymeKyller's topic in Open Chat
Hello again TK, Some of us on the boards have been through miserable times like you are going through. Divorce, rejection, loss, bewilderment of how to go on, the whole nine yards of it. So we can sure feel your pain. Hang on to your friends, here and on G$, but real world ones too, they will help you pull yourself up out of the depths of misery. I wouldn't have survived in 1970 without dear people basically taking me under their wings and holding me up until i could walk on my own again. I didn't know the Lord Jesus as my Personal Saviour then, in fact the only thing I felt 'sure' about wha -

TK, I'm so sorry that you are going through such a rough time. I knew something bad was going on by the way you were sounding off over on G$, just didn't know the details. Thought maybe you were hinting of drinking to much... thought maybe that that was the problem, so now you have to not drink at all to set right example to the kids and to always be on your toes physically, mentally, and yes even in rough emotional times like this you have to be strong emotionally too, as you are all they have left it sounds like. Sad world when things like this happens. I haven't checked out your link to G$ -
STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! STOMP!!!! That should be enough to kill that thing!!! PAT. God bless everyone.

Been wondering how you've been Marty, haven't seen you around the usual places much lately. Glad you're back. I'm glad we're all back here, but sure glad Mac had a temp spot for the family too. Thanks to both Jeff and Mac for everything. Pat. God bless everyone.

Welcome to you both. I hope you like what we have here...the best boards to unwind, have fun, learn a little, share our lives with each other, help each other, and did I say have fun...definitely a lot of that. Come visit the cafe and other spots around the community, and don't be shy, let us hear from you both. Pat. God bless everyone.
