  1. HAPPY B-DAY NARAKU9333!!! Have a Great Day, and a very Merry X-Mas too!
  2. NICE Gibson RV!!! I haven't touched a guitar in years....I need to buy a nice lil acoustic for me to play around with, and get my skills back. I'm so rusty, I'ld probably have trouble playing "Gloria"....
  3. ALWAYS leave a sizable area as Unallocated (not just unused) for emergency usage. I've found it invaluable to have this available space to make an emergency partition or two as a need arises. It can be made into an emergency OS partition if your main OS fails, and you need to access for data retrieval. I've also used it as a swap space when rearranging my partitions due to sizing requirements, I can make a quick partition and move stuff I need to it, resize my other ones, and move it back when done. Make your XP part at least 20G, I've gone up to 25 now, where I started at 15G before. It just
  4. HAPPY B-DAY BOZODOG & PANDY!!! Have a Great Day Darlene and Pandy, but don't do anything God wouldn't want you to do..
  5. A little old lady is walking down the street, dragging two plastic garbage bags with her, one in each hand. There's a hole in one of the bags, and every once in a while a $20 bill is flying out of it onto the pavement. Noticing this, a policeman stops her...."Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of that bag..." "Damn!" says the little old lady....."I'd better go back and see if I can still find some. Thanks for the warning!" "Well, now, not so fast," says the cop. "How did you get all that money?" " Did you steal it?" "Oh, no", says the little old lady. "You see, my back yard backs up
  6. The Nation sits in stunned silence today, after the infamous "Asian Bird Flu" claimed it's first victim in California today. Below is a picture of the victim, just before Paramedics arrived...
  7. -- For the women and just in time for Xmas -- =============================== Buying gifts for men is not nearly as complicated as it is for women. Follow these rules and you should have no problems. Rule #1: When in doubt - buy him a cordless drill. It does not matter if he already has one. I have a friend who owns 17 and he has yet to complain. As a man, you can never have too many cordless drills.......... No one knows why. Rule #2: If you cannot afford a cordless drill, buy him anything with the word ratchet or socket in it. Men love saying those two words. "Hey, George, c
  8. I was literally LMAO at the end of this one!!
  9. GRRROOOOOAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNN Sickeningly sweet...tis cute
  10. "A Biker and an Old Lady" A good looking biker named Ted stops by the Harley shop to have his bike fixed. They couldn't do it while he waited, so he said he didn't live far and would just walk home. On the way home, Ted stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket and an anvil. Next, he stopped by the feed store and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, he now had a problem, how to carry all of his purchases home. The owner said, "Put the anvil in the bucket, carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand." "Hey, thanks!" T
  11. Ya, there's really no need to go spending your $$$ right now, b ut I think if you do, the 19" flat monitor and wireless KB & mouse would be the way to go. I bought a 20" Acer flat LCD monitor 6 months ago, and it's the best $425 Canadian $$ I ever spent! I absolutely LOVE having this big screen, plus I bought an articulating support arm that clamps to the desk, and I can move the monitor around as I please...that is so cool. I can turn it, flip it, raise and lower it, move it in, out, up down, sideways, upside down, vertically & horizontally...anything I want. The arm is pretty expensi

I believe that probably half of our post total is yours Mac...you certainly seem to be hammering keys faster than anyone else here does. Myself, I would have bloodied fingertips if I posted every thought that came to mind You may soon have allot more work to do Mac, pop into Admin board shortly and see what I'm talking about..
  13. Thx Mac, I didn't know that I was an Internet Celebrity..I know I'm kinda "infamous" for bringing out that G4 disaster to the public eye, but thank you for your support of my moderating abilities.
  14. Heheh...don't you just LUV tech support? While I think that you may have "exaggerated" somewhat on the wait times, it's still typical of what tech support at OEM's have degenerated into. "Thank you....come again..! (in my best Ahpoo voice) About your issue tho, did you check to see if there were any errors about an IDE Controller in the Event Viewer? I'd think that this may be the problem here since the IDE cable has been ruled out so far.
  15. Almost all OEM machines use registered chassis's, and OS reinstalls will only work properly when its within that chassis. This is the case with recovery disks, they run a check to make sure that the OS is being installed into the proper machine that its registered to, and if it finds a difference it will not install. The chassis is an integral part of this machine, and you'll have issues when its changed, you won't be able to reinstall the OS. Here is what I mean, ths is a snapshot of my son's Gateway system showing the Chassis number. This info is from a benchmark utility called SiSoft Sandra
  16. I also have no problem seeing the pic, and have fast reply available in different browsers...I don't know whats causing your issue Darlene. I have noticed tho, that sometimes my sig image is not showing for me and I get the IPB image tag as well, but that usually fixes itself within a few minutes and all is well again. When this happens to you, do you notice if the page has finished loading completely? Do you have the progress bar visible? Next time it happens or if its still happening, check that the progress bar isn't hanging at 95% or so. Many times you can get hung up around there, and it
  17. Thats HILARIOUS!!!! Thanks for the laughs and the link!!
  18. LOL!! BTW, what ever happened to the little green snake here?? The story never tells us the outcome for this little fella...did he survive the fire? ( I LOVE snakes)
  19. Here's a bunch of em for ya Mostly man-bashing it seems...why is that? One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?" "It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?" He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma." ----------------------------------------------------------- A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world" The woman says, "I'll miss you..." -------------------------------- "It's just to
  20. C'mon guys, lets not name call a new member please... I agree tho, that this is not a good idea to be bypassing the company filters to get this access to a hockey game, it could end up costing you your job...is it worth it? Its rather obvious that your company does NOT want the employees doing things that you're doing, so I suggest asking for permissions first before you end up in hot water over hockey broadcasts.
  21. So I have to ask....why are you going thru so much trouble for an easy fix??? It's so much easier to modify the existing case to fit the new PS than it is to swap cases out, and it will, as Pete mentioned, cause you other troubles down the road. The Chassis is an integral part of the system and changing this out with another is going to cause it to not be recognized by your recovery CD, thus losing your OS install capabilities. I think you're going about this in a completely wrong way here, and my advice is to STOP before you go too far and really bugger things up! It will be easier to look ar
  22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WAYNE!! Have a great day, and don't get TOO drunk tonight eh...
  23. There's absolutely no need to replace the entire case here, when OEM systems have proprietary power supplies, it's the Motherboard thats the problem, not the case. The power supply is pinned differently to fit the MoBo and thats why some systems can only use their own PS units, as any others would not be pinned correctly for such use and possibly fry the MoBo. There are many replacement PS units for these proprietary units, if this is indeed one of them, check THIS out first. EDIT - I don't believe this unit has a proprietary PS unit, but not 100% sure. Contact Compaq support and ask them...th
