  1. He's out on bail....we have no idea why the judge allowed that, but our family and friends have a 24 hr watch on him, since the police cannot. I've been on watch most of the day and her dad is taking tonite along with another friend. I'll be back there tomorrow for 6 hrs, and some of my friends have volunteered their time too, so we'll make sure he goes nowhere near her.....ever. We're appealing his release using the Dangerous Offender law, hoping to have another judge order him held on his arraignment on Tuesday, until trial date. He's just too unstable to have walking around, if he's out the
  2. Hardeeharharhar!!! Serves em right for wanting to seceed
  3. LMSFARO!!!!! (laugh my stupid friggin a** right off!!)
  4. Oh Lord, thats FUNNY!! (and ironic) Yup, we had it rough back in 56 I tell ya....60's were a blurr, 70's a drunken stupor most times, 80's...did they even exist?? I thought someone just dreamed them up to fill the void between classic rock and hip-hop.
  5. Ohhh...I thought it just needed to support a brick, as in just put the brick on top of the structure. If the structure needs to support a hanging brick, then it is a different thing you need. I'll think of something later, I need to go right now, but I'll have an idea for you later.
  6. This topic has been reopened only on Pat's (thesidekickcat) request, so she may post one more reply. PLEASE, everyone else respect TK's wish that nobody else post to this thread, and it will be locked once more upon Pat's post. Thank You!
  7. Hey everyone I just want to say this to you all to make sure you're all aware that this can happen to ANYONE... My 12 y/o neice was 1/2" away from being abducted by some 28 y/o guy who...apparently has been stalking her for some time. She had noticed this guy many times at the same places she's been at, mall, around school,..etc, and she thought it may be more than a coincidence....it was. Wed. evening, this guy approached her at the mall while she was by herself, her friends were in the food court while she went to a store to look around. He told her that he was looking for models and wanted
  8. Well, this is not entirely true. If you look at my first post in this thread (here), I talk about this. Most malware today won't be gone by just "fixing" the entry in HJT. Often, the helper will supply one or more other tools while analyzing a log. And, even if other tools aren't needed, certain lines in HJT , such as O4s also need to corresponding file to be deleted. So, once again, while it may be safe to do this with HJT, it probably won't help too much with your malware problem. Matt Plus...as I mentioned, if there are O10 entries present in the log due to something injecting itself
  9. Hmmm...don't know of any ISP's offhand for ya, and I don't think you'll need more than your modem and protocol drivers. Too bad my ISP couldn't help you out, at least I don't think they can, but they're Access Communications if you want to check, and they're great!! I'll see what I can find and get back to you.
  10. Your wish is my command TK, stay well my friend! Pat, I know you'll want to chat more with TK, but I'm locking this as he wishes so PM him please. Thanks again, you're the Greatest!!
  11. Wow... Whatever you did Pat, Good Job! TK is an old friend of mine, and I had no idea that things were not going so well for him, but I sure am glad that you were able to turn things around for him & his family. Steve Hey buddy, sure glad to hear that things are better, whatever the problem was. Its scary to read this post and know that you were close to something unthinkable my friend, I am soooo grateful that Pat was able to help you. Stay Well!
  12. Tom has joined into the party at G4, and put this guy into place as have a couple other TC teachers. SevenOwl will NOT be making any more hasty statements like that one anytime soon.
  13. Yah, I noticed.... Makes me almost embarassed to be from the same country as he is. He must be from Winnipeg I've contacted an admin at TC's that I know well and pointed them to that post, we'll see what kind of action they take towards this person. I know for sure that they'll get a very stern PM from my friend at least, and possibly some other action, as any teacher at TC would NEVER allow that type of advice from a member.
  14. You know, we shouldn't be doing this for you Danny, it's for you to learn from, but we can't help ourselves In my post above, one of the most important elements is the strip along the side/sides as it creates stability and stops the triangular strips from collapsing. I guess you only need 3 strip top & bottom rails, which would span 17" and save weight.Of course the structure stands on the 1" edge, and so does the brick when placed on it. This should easily support the weight with the side strip making sure the supports don't bend.
  15. Ha....too late!! In a way, I agree, but it also all depends on exactly WHAT is displayed in the log. For instance, if the TCP/IP stack has been compromised with a New.net line, deleting the entries would most definately break the computer's ability to connect. In most cases that area is not listed unless there has been a change to it, so in those cases deleting everything would not harm it, but in others... Yah you know, all the services are protected, and the startups are all a matter of choice....in XP, but what would happen in W98 when you delete systray and explorer.exe? I wonder if the sy
  16. I posted to that guy....first time I've posted there since....well, you know. But this guy is an idiot X-trordinaire, and he deserves the roasting he's getting. If he ever did post at TC's, he'll never post again if he does tell us his username there, Gal will make sure of that after she reads that POS post. If they ever did post that kind of advice here baker7, we would have that post removed SO FAST, that nobody would have the chance to read it anyway.
  17. Hi Marty You can also create your own slipstreamed SP2 CD, and eliminate the need to d'load SP2 updates ever again, and take care of this prob too. Its made with the exact same file you d'loaded for this already, so you'll be halfway there right away. Slipstream SP2 I'm going to write a "dumbed-down" version of this procedure for our Tutorials section soon, for our n00bies to use. You should have no prob following the link's advice tho buddy. I made a couple of slipstreamed XP SP2 CD's already, and I'm so glad I did, it saves tons of time if I reinstall and its also better for when SFC is need
  18. Actually, I don't believe deleting the Default User hidden folder is such a good idea. Micro-managing Windows like that is never good and usually leads to a corrupt system. That's a hidden folder for a reason, but if you really want to test the results just rename it for a month and see what happens.
  19. It is probably the CPU fan as the computer probably uses CPU temp as an indicator of fan failure. It's quite possible that simply cleaning the fan and heatsink with compressed air and soft brush will fix this problem. Remove the fan from the heatsink and blow it out with air along with the heatsink (hs). Use a soft bristled paint brush to also brush out the HS, but do it softly as not to create any static charge. Any good electronics store will have a fan to fit that heatsink if it does need to be changed tho, just remove it and take it in and they should have something for you.
  20. Great job Pat!! Yes, sometimes we get too busy to welcome everyone, but one of our great Gal's usually always remember to catch them. Welcome Everyone! Enjoy your stay here, settle in and get to know our Wonderful Community, and if you need help, PC Support is where you'll find it.
  21. Here's my fist thought Glue 3 or 4 (depends on weight) strips together at the ends, overlapping about 1/2", alternate the overlap as in #1 Make 2 similar beams like that, then box them on the ends (#2) and connect them with triangular strips (#3), and a strip across each side for stability. 1.bmp _2.bmp _3.bmp
  22. Lemme think on it and I'll get back to you. This is what I was originally trained in, Structural Engineering, so I can tell you that triangulation is definately the correct path here. That, and an Arch, are the stronger elements in construction. You need to transfer and distribute the brick's weight over the entire structure, or to the structure's strongest element. Just need some clarification here tho, "Cannot glue strips together vertically" means....along the long edges?
  23. HAPPY B-DAY DAYGO140!! and many more!
  24. Holy Cow!!! That was one Heck of a game eh...for all the Canucks who watched, and the Americans who saw it on satellite, that was probably one of the Best football games ever! Congrats go to the Edmonton Eskimos and their fans for winning the 93rd Grey Cup game in such dramatic fashion, in overtime. CFL RULES!!! I don't think I've seen such a clutch display and dramatic finish as that one, and its gonna be some time before folks stop calling this the Best cup game EVER, it even beats the 89 Riders, Ti-cats game for a finish and thats saying something...
  25. Yah...that's a hoax. People are just going crazy over this fiasco from Sony, and now the paranoia birds are jumping all over it...."everything Sony is suspect" is going to be all over the net soon, but the only confirmed subject are the Sony CD's. It's healthy to have a little distrust after what they pulled, but its gonna soon be outright lunacy from some out there, so be wary of all the conspiracy stuff you'll see. Any real concerns will be well documented on reliable, trustworthy news sites, so stick with them.
