Yes that would have been one heck of a restoration When I first looked at the GMC I thought the number on the house was 666 then closer look I see 606. At first though it was a comment on the truck. Oh, nice 150.
  2. This may be better answered by a windows expert. Boot-camp just partitions and formats the hard drive space and includes drivers for hardware support. Once installed you have a windows machine like any other windows machine with the Mac os never touching the windows os. The only thing i can think of that may cause a problem is that the mac does not use a bios like windows machines. The mac is using EFI Extensible Firmware Interface so my guess is part of boot-camp is emulating a standard BIOS that windows understands. This would probably only be used during windows startup. The best place to

I feel your pain. I just replaced the radiator in my Miata and the ac compressor and receiver/dryer in my Ranger. Both went south in the same week. These things only seem to happen when the savings account starts to fatten up.
  4. Could be your torrent program running seeing you mentions you download music. But "Korea and russia and downloading music". All this sounds like your computer has been powned. I am by no means a expert, but your computer could be part of a zombie network and good chance your antivirus and spyware software can do nothing. First download Rootkit reveler this may find if a rootkit has been installed. If you have been compromised the only thing that is a sure thing is a reformat and reinstall. Then check all you data for virus, spyware and rootkits before installing.
  5. I pretty much spent the whole weekend using my iMac. It looks great and the Core 2 Duo is real fast. The glossy screen has a lot of glare in the store from the lights but looks awesome at home. I'm very happy with it.

Being a miata owner I have a plastic rear window that gets scratched and hazy. Every few months I use Novus Fine scratch remover works like a charm. They sell it at motorcycle and snowmobile shops for visors, windscreens and plastic parts.
  7. The wireless keyboard $30 and mouse $20 is a upgrade I don't need it... but now that you mention it, it would clean up my desk. Well at least the keyboard I have MS mouse that I like.
  8. Well Apple announced new iMacs today they're Aluminum and Glass, glossy screens. They come in 20" and 24" and start with a Core 2 Duo 2Ghz up to Core 2 Duo Extreme 2.8Ghz all can handle 4 gig of RAM and come with 250 gig to 1 terabyte of hard drive space. The Mac mini also got updates 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. Also the iLife suite got a update, imovie was scrapped for a totally new version still called iMovie but nothing like to old version. Garageband got some really nice updates that I'm very happy about. Also updates to iWeb, iDVD and .Mac. And thanks to a educational discount "I work for a schoo
  9. Just listen to a Carbon Leaf cd, never heard of them till yesterday, they're pretty good.
  10. Remake? That was the good old Bon Scott days blues based rock and roll.
  11. I have installed Xubuntu on a few P III's with 128Mb. It runs well and the Xfce GUI is very straight forward.
  12. I think it was Steve Gibson that said recently that some government agency could track down computers that are part of bot-nets. They could then disable the virus or track the source. I don't know if this has actually been put into effect I dough it is. But seeing stats that over 75% of torrent users computers are unknowingly owned by spam nets, this doesn't sound too unreasonable.
  13. I got the fan thing going right now... I didn't bother with putting the AC unites in because this summer in the northeast has been mild. Well 92 and pretty humid right now maybe time to get the AC fired up. The weather guy just said thunder storms for the next three days. Oh crap, hot and stuck inside.
  14. They do have but-loads of talent, but the part where sully rolls across the stages on his mobil drum pod just reminds me of Spinal Tap.

If I were you I would stick with Ubuntu. For home users the only real concerns are KDE or Gnome and witch distro supports my hardware best. With the popularity of Ubuntu and ease of use it is a great choice with a lot of support.
  16. I kind of guessed they were going to be all true about halfway. And I once woke up with a spider crawling on my lips. Had forgot about that...until now.
  17. You can't plug them into a wall socket. You want DC power, and put led's in series. Different color led's also need different voltages. I would guess with 9v supply you could make sets of 3 in series and connect all sets to power in parallel. But I would check with someone that knows what there talking about first. I'm just guessing.
  18. I though the same thing at first. But I read where just before 3.0 came out there was a 2.x beta that supported using the boot camp partition install.
  19. I'm willing to bet the bad optical drive replacement will fix the eject problem. I's good apple is replacing it, those little optical drives cost $300.
  20. I had a eject button issue on my powerbook it turned out a freeware app I was using remapped the eject button. I got rid of the app and the problem went away also. Also check this apple doc.305268. Or reset the PRAM, Shut the computer off. Start up holding the option, command,R and P keys down when you hear three chime sounds let go of the keys. It should boot and the eject will work if it is just a mapping problem.
  21. The Mac Pro doesn't have a integrated graphics card. Right now the low end card that ships with a Pro is a Nvidia 7300 GT. Should play WOW just fine. What problem is she having? Do some googleing for XNJB I know that people are using this to use the Zune with OS X.
  22. Here's another powerpoint presentation with a special message.
  23. The brown smelly water will still will spray out the sprinklers in the event of a fire. They only test the primary portion of the system this is the mechanical part of the system. The brown / black smelly stuff comes from the parts that never get used, other then in a fire.
  24. I have been a pandora member for probably a year. It has help me find new artist I would probably never find otherwise. I was just thinking with the diverse musical taste we have here some of you must use something to fine new bands. Listening to some Fiona Apple this morning.
  25. Listening to old Counting Crows mix, Omaha right now. Does anyone else here use Pandora?
