Wow! That IS a good list, Pat--even though a lot of the tools are "beyond me" This link (from the same article) is the "short and sweet version" that might be easier for "ADD minds" to comprehend "sort by category" Thank you, Pat, I emailed it to GeekyNephew and myself Liz

***Hijacking a thread Alert!!** HondaBoy, your insurance went down because you got a newer car with "more safety bells and whistles" (discovered that with the kids) And guess what, guys? Your insurance will go down more when you turn 21 and again at 25 and about every "decade birthday" after that! Makes 50 something to look forward to (noooo, I haven't reached that yet! but Hubby has ) And congrats to you two for accident free driving (no more tickets, now, XX! Watch your speed ) Marty, I agree, aren't these kids amazing with their tech knowledge? Shoot, I still have to get the manual o

Well, maybe this should be called the "rant and rave game" . An update! The "nut" is in the local Nursing Home. I went to the hospital to visit her and found out she was discharged Monday after a short stint at the ER. I lost a little old lady?? I have her housekeys and have been checking her mail, I KNOW she wasn't home! After a call to her sister in law, she told me where the "nut" was. (still a little peeved that I wasn't told, though, the hospital is 30 miles away and gas is expensive!) Anyways.....After I don't know how many weeks of talking to her Visiting Nurses, her family, the Sen

Macmarauder, I miss you, too, soooooo.......I kicked out the alligators, turned up the heat to hottub temperature and dumped a wheelbarrow full of Calgon Bath in the pool. One more beer and I'll be going in (or falling in?, unless Robroy pushes me again ) Pool Party!! Everybody in!! Oh, Terrorist, your Dad sounds like my Dad. He's an avid "junker" (yard saler) and does he ever have the stuff. Great for borrowing purposes, though! Oooh, woodchips, Bozodog? Lucky you. And the freebies usually are "real" woodchips--the color is much nicer than that dyed stuff. Don't let the Brit dri

Whoo, hooo, Triplets! Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to Calusamar, Jamaicaman and Rsdarkstar! Hope you all have a wonderful day Liz and Chappy

Thanks for the love and hugs, Pat, I really need it! I'm just pissy about my "nut with a walker". She was in the hospital for 10 days with pneumonia, copd, emphysema and congestive heart failure. She was released to her home on Friday. Apparently on Saturday, her niece came over, she was soaking wet (incontinent), hadn't eaten, hadn't taken her pills....Sunday, her 79 year old sister in law came over, same thing.....today, she called me to come over....yup, same thing. She has a "in home lady" who was supposed to be notified when she came home from the hospital, I called her, and nope, s

Shameless bump. Thanks, Mike. I'm not a member there, sent Sweet Antonio a PM from here, but y'all feel free to send my love, sympathy and support to the G4 thread. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. Bad things shouldn't happen to good guys. Liz

Pace around, clench the fists and pump them in the air, slam the cupboard doors, kick the wall (check for dents, phew, I love plaster, OK, kick again, a door this time), stomp the feet, throw my hands up and holler, "arrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!! Why ME?? There better be a major payback in my future!!" Wipe the brow, take a deep breath, get a kiss from and cuddle the freaked out dog, type this out, ok, I feel a little better now Liz

Crossing the fingers for your family, Chappy! I got stuck with Jury Duty the week of April 17 (grrrrr), hope your jury thinks like I do (there are SOME things I'm just not objective with) Liz

Thanks, Jdoors and Robroy, yup, that's the key. Glad to know it isn't the "auto reformat button" Imagine it could be nifty if the mouse ever breaks Liz

Wow, Kevin, Bulgaria?? So glad to meet another from so far away (Michigan, USA here) Thanks for adding! Liz

Hooray, Pat, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's declared too "untechy for chat". I went to Chat once with a problem installing Spybot. Well, I got into a discussion with Pierce about Soccer and he was "private messaging me"---I didn't know that..I thought he was just being clever changing the color of his letters. I answered him in the chat room. The other posters were saying, "huh??" because I was posting random stuff, answering Pierce's questions (which they didn't see, naturally...) In the meantime, Son was slapping his forehead, saying, "Oh GAD, MOM, you are SO making a fool of yours

LOL, JDoors...I like Esc, but I think I'd choose ALT, because I like the sound of it Although there is a key between the Windows Key and Ctrl on the right side of the space key, that I have no idea what it is, that one sounds intreging, too (NO, I'M NOT going to punch it just for the heck of it! I'D BREAK something! ) Liz

I usually don't use any chemicals in the yard, either, but once in a while I cave (like when I stupidly planted Euonymus! All the digging in the world wouldn't kill that obnoxious stuff off!) Wow, Terrorist--you are lucky to have lung function! Liz

Macmarauder!!! Honey, I don't know what happened in chat (too fast paced for me to venture in there) but nothing you did here in the forums was wrong! Absolutely nothing! I lurk in a few forums and it's slow all over--I think folks are just plain busy. Even Son's game forum is slow, he says. I haven't posted as much lately because the past couple months have been "same-o, same-o" Posting that I pushed the vacuum and did laundry every day would be mighty boring I AM thankful for being in a rut, though--no hell breaks loose in the crazyhouse when it's "routine" *knocks wood* You've been d

Ooof, grunt , tug, owwww...yup, shamelessly pulling this thread up! SisterSue has been 48 hours with stress free surfing due to that first link, Terrorist *knocks wood* and she says "thank you, thank you, thank you!" I don't know what Eudora is, but she apparently has it and her text size appears to be fixed! And I thank each and every one of you, too! Much love, Liz

OK, I guess I'm not a geek....gimme a rock instead (but not a diamond, I like color!) ! Sending those links to Son, though, he'll get a kick out of them, thanks, Jdoors! Liz

Pat, your post made me laugh, even though I did feel sorry for the plumbing work, especially having to work with Hubby--I remember you saying you two work as well together as my Hubby and I do Anyways, glad the caulk is holding up and the leaky sink is fixed! I do caulk, but plumbing is strictly Hubby's job--he knows how to do it and doesn't mind the "gross black hairball animals". And yee-haw about the motorhome passing inspection. I don't think we have those here in Michigan. And you're right about butting out as far as the "nut" and Nancy goes, the "nut" is going to have a fit as it is

Happy Birthday Fissi0n! have a wonderful day and drive carefully! Liz (chappy, too)

Heyyyy, Terrorist! I've been keeping the coffeepot hot but it has been quiet here. I've been too busy. Son's applying to the University and since he is working so many hours, I've been tying up loose ends for him (like getting the community college transcripts transferred for him, he works during office hours) And my "nut with a walker" has been keeping me on my toes. Trying to convince her that constipation is NOT a reason to call for an ambulance, but trouble breathing IS a reason to call! Geezzzzz.....At least she is in the hospital now (breathing problems ended up being the pnew, pnen

Happy Birthday Jim! Hope you have a great day! Liz (Chappy, too!)

Ahhh, thanks, Barb! The kids kicked me out of Kate's dormroom when they were setting up her computer (I get nervous and ask too many questions, and drive them crazy, so they tell me... ) I'll look for that when I visit her at school! I'll still have to call Dell and plead for a disk, (and it will be well worth the $9) as she didn't order a CD burner with her new idiotbox, her remark to boyfriend was, "I don't need a CD burner, I've never burned a CD in my life, my brother does that for me" Gotta love little brothers.
