Hmmm, good question, Matt! Son uses Dogpile and Google for homework, ahem I mean searching (what happened to the old fashioned library research??). His Girlfriend acquired a Currier and Ives print titled "Belle in the Winter" and has been trying to find out information on it (no luck whatsoever on Google and Yahoo). I "Dogpiled"/imaged it and got a couple of sites that might just have at least a picture of that print--of course, the sites don't have the prints in alphabetical order, but I'm sending her those links! She can do the hunting. I'll let you know what she finds out! Liz

That is absolutely HILARIOUS, Pat! Oh, you can bet that I'm sending that link on the email trail! I'm still giggling as I'm writing this! Thanks, Liz -
Nasti Spumante is what we used to call Boonesfarm! Sad thing, we actually have a Tractor Supply store near us! Mooooo! Liz

Oooh, I love renovations! But not kitchens. Been there done that. I need to tear down my dining room ceiling (leak damaged) and I'm NOT looking forward to that. It's in the center of the house, so you know, there will be plaster bits all over!! And my dining room is "command central". When we have company, do we visit in the living room or family room? Nope, we always end up at the dining room table. Don't you just love how drywall dust gets absolutely EVERYWHERE, RV? *sarcasm!* Lucked out on Jury Duty and didn't have to go in. Hooray!! Been busting my patootie at my folk's house and

Brilliant words of wisdom! We're lucky, we still have Dave Berry "re-run articles" once a week in our paper. Liz

Glad you reminded me of Pete's post about Roebic septic tank cleaner, Pat (those snow pictures made me forget!) Pete!! Do you know whether Roebic septic tank cleaner is critter safe? Always looking for tips to make the compost pile work quicker as our warm season is so short. thanks! Murphy's Oil Soap is supposed to be good for compost, too, and a good way to dispose of it when your furniture is washed Pat, yep, I mow my leaves, but my parents house has 4 absolutely huge oaks next door (must be over 4 ft diameter trunks!) and the leaves are knee deep in places--the poor lawn mower would

Oh my gosh, Jsky! That's awful! Looks like your trees are already leafed out, too? Hope you don't get any plant damage. *does a Sun Dance for Jsky* Today was another day for a tshirt! Hoping it stays warm, finally finished raking my parent's yard and I so want to go out to play in mine (I'd be out there now, but I'm waiting for a couple blisters to go away!) Liz
-
Keep that cold stuff away from me, Jsky! (I know....West-to-East prevailing winds....we'll probably get it!) Today was "almost hot". Hope tomorrow is the same, I NEED to get the rest of the leaves raked at my parent's house, and maybe, just maybe tackle MY yard! Been warm enough but too windy. Give it a day?? Ha! In Michigan, we say, "give it an hour" And you go, Xcannon! Squeaky wheels DO sometimes get results! Liz

I was thinking it was Msconfig, but I would have searched and spelled it wrong (Msconfig, not misconfig...)! Thanks! Liz

I don't know anything about Thunderbird, Marty, but yes, Adaware does pick up some Trojans!! When I upgraded to SP2 and ran Adaware and Spybot beforehand, Adaware picked up....something....don't quite remember what (long time ago and I'm old ), there was a CoolWebSearch thing and a Dialer, enough to scare me and enough to say "thank God for these Antispyware Gadgets"! These freebies certainly go above and beyond the call of duty! I'm sure you already have, but you should let the emailer know what he or she is sending, he or she might have no idea! Liz
-
Wow! Thanks, Marty. You should also post this in the Malware Section, this deserves to be posted in every section, in fact! Liz

Oh, that's good Copy, paste, email and thanks, msdos! Liz

I haven't been able to concentrate on reading any further after Pete said "gigawatt". Here I thought that was a made up term for Back to the Future Movies (and my unique measurement for anything in the computer!) Gosh, such a heat wave so early in the year! Take care, Southerners. Just remember, Pete, Vitamin D from sunlight is GOOD for you Just wear a hat when working on the roof (ouch!) and don't sit on roofing tar while wearing shorts (yup.....I did.....) *hugs* to Xcannon, I agree, insurance is a "necessary racket", but $15 week is dirt cheap--Hubby gets $35 week taken out of his che

Thank you all soooo much! Couple more questions (surprised?) From the ewido tutorial: "Now save the report .txt file to your desktop" Ummmmm, how do you do this? Is it an option if I right click it? Go ahead and laugh, y'all know I don't mind Should I run ewido in safe mode? I've always run Adaware and Spybot in "normal mode" When I was on the phone with a tech with the Possessed Gateway, he taught me a way to go into safe mode without pressing F8 (because neither computer beeps at startup and neither shows a "bios page" at startup) If I remember right, I went "somewhere" and clicked

Thank you, Matt! According to Kate, her Mcafee "popped a pop-up", saying she had a virus, but according to her, it didn't specify what virus she had and didn't specify whether it "killed it" or not....which is weird for Mcafee (?? she's less techy than I am! Yes, there IS such a thing, she IS naturally blonde! ) she said she ran a scan which showed no viruses (again, ?? I'm guessing that pop up said Mcafee "killed the virus" and she just didn't read it right...panic mode *gasp, a virus?* does it to me!) I'm hopefully going down there sometime this week, and I'll run ewido and see what it

OK, because it's the "blind leading the blind" here....help!!! Daughter's 4 month old computer is running slower than mollasses and she complained of issues with shutdown--it just hangs at the desktop with the hourglass and she has had to shut it down by pushing the power button. No blue screens or goofy restarts, just pokey. I'm pretty sure she has no antispyware on it, as the kids kicked me out of her dorm room when they set up her computer and never gave me a chance to nag. AND she told me that her "now-ex boyfriend" played on her computer in January, and she got porn pop-ups for the next
