The garden monster DID get me big time! I've been fooling around online but have only done it on iced tea breaks and have only been reading and posting "quickies" (Bozodog, love the emails, by the way...that piano one got forwarded....to my kids and their friends....am I a horrible mom or what?) Been planting, re-arranging things (wandering around saying,"where should I plant this?"), helping garden newbie next door neighbor bring back her gardens (crabgrass past my knees, but we're getting it out of there!), making manure runs....hooo boy. My carrots came up this year! Hooray! (last yea

Mike (mlegg) Will Be Undergoing Chemo Treatments For His Ms.
blim replied to TheTerrorist_75's topic in Open Chat
Thanks for the update, Terrorist! And to Mike (because I don't belong to G4) Wishing you the best of luck and go for it! Medicine is discovering new treatments almost everyday. Chemo isn't any fun, but it's temporary and if the end results are good, it'll be worth it. Hang in there and let us know how you're doing when you feel better Love, Liz -
Happy Birthday, Martin! Have a terrific day Liz and Chappy

I use compost for mulch (works the same and is dirt colored!) BUT I recently read something else along the lines of mulch that need to be broadcasted. Cocoa Bean mulch is beautiful and smells absolutely heavenly, BUT if you have critters, don't use it. Chocolate is toxic to dogs and some dogs (especially the big ones) will eat it--if they eat the cocoa mulch, they can get sick. And thanks, Bozodog--I always lean towards better safe than sorry! Liz

Macmarauder, I don't have much time to post because Daughter will be getting out of bed soon, and she'll want the idiot box (it's her day off today) But I want to thank you for sharing! Ah, friends, relationships, ugh. I sure know what you mean when folks start pairing up--sure changes the group dynamics, doesn't it? And with Sara--whether or not you "fancy" her, if Pat is treating her like a jerk, you shouldn't have to feel loyal to Pat--feel loyal to the behavior, and if it isn't right, either tell Pat he's going to lose her, or tell Sara to give it up! From what I've read, Pat is going

I'm *hopefully* spending the weekend playing in the yard--the weatherguessers are predicting 80's--whoo hoo! We'll see.....I've been piddling around the yard but it's been spotty since I've been dodging rainshowers Besides, this weekend is the official start of tourist season up here--a weekend to stay off the roads and out of the stores (bought my beer yesterday!) Pool's open, warm, clean and I put the alligators in their pens.....just in case Liz

Ugh, Ew, Ratbugs?? Yuck! being a midwesterner without bugs, too, just reading all this freaked me out, then I *had* to click on Carnevil's link.... You need a boy like Aron and your snowshovel for those things! I'm sure folks here will get to the bottom of this, they sure were helpful when I had a wayward woodchuck in my yard (who is happily frolicking in a meadow nowadays) Being in a shady area of the yard, I wonder if it could be some kind of fungus/moss or maybe fungus/moss growing on a fallen chunk of treebark (that's what I'm hoping for you!) I just decided that I'm making Hubby cut th

I'm more excited about the picket fence than the computer It'll look lovely when it's done! Be careful, don't get cut building the fence or shocked rebuilding the computer and good luck .....Be good?..... Liz

Soooo, anyone have any plans for Memorial Day weekend? We got nuttin. Hubby's home on vacation which means he's napping in front of the tv Did manage to have him do the "chores" I planned for him, though! I need to put my thinking cap on and conger up some more chores for him to do...he has 4 more days of vacation, afterall Liz

I'm not sure if they still do this, but when we signed up for Charter, they had "free installation". The tech who got our idiot box hooked up was very helpful with ideas. AND Charter has a great telephone support staff (or I've been incredibly lucky) Liz

Hey Makai! Welcome back, was wondering where you've been, although I KNOW Spring is a busy time of year. Geez oh Pete, it sounds like you've been more than occupied with the new job, computer and hospital (hope you're ok now!) Il Wiccan hasn't been heard from for quite a while, as far as I know, and folks are mighty worried about him. I know he "slips out of touch" occasionally, but hoping he gets in touch soon and wishing him the very best. I'm glad you're back! Liz

Will SpywareBlaster block these critters? Liz

I'm impressed that someone your age know who ZZTop is! Sounds like a good plan. Community College is certainly the way to go--English 101 is English 101 whether you're spending $60 hour or $300 hour--and they probably even use the same textbook! Plan on getting an Associates or Transfer Degree at the CC--will be much easier for transferring to the "BigSchool", instead of individual classes transferring, the whole degree will transfer---and plan on 2 1/2--3 years to get it. "Back in our day" we didn't have the added requirements kids have now--we didn't HAVE to take Philosophy, we only neede

Wow, Terrorist, your utilities and taxes are higher than up here--didn't think that was possible! Interesting note on my electric bill this month. Electric is $40-$50 a month (I chase everyone around the house, yell and turn off lights and throw a hissyfit if it hits $50) and the electric company said we could join the Budget Plan for $60 month....huh? Ummmm, no thanks, I don't think so Jdoors, that parking fee is obscene! Our HS requires stickers (so when they bring the drugpuppies in, they know who's cars are getting "tagged") but parking is free. A neighboring school charges $20, but t

Congratulations, Hondaboy! And a awner stoodint to boot, good for you! What are your plans? Liz

You can DO it, Pat! I (OK, Son and I) reformatted the Possessed Gateway! Ok, it was terribly scary but I had lots of handholding from the folks here (and I betcha Robroy is STILL laughing about my stupid questions about the floppy start up disk ). One thing I learned is that if you enter a wrong command, it tells you and it won't go any farther! Liz

5 Lessons To Make You Think About The Way We Treat People
blim replied to JSKY's topic in The Comedy Club
I needed that, Jsky, thank you! Lately I've been fighting between "Is there 'doormat' stamped on my head?!?" and "It's nice to be nice" Think I'll stick with the second option. Liz -
Does Yahoo Games have Poker? I know they have Euchre, but honestly don't know about Poker. The kids play Yahoo Games, would 'assume' that is safe. Liz

Wow, Bearskin, I thought I lived in the boonies! At least you don't have snow half the year. Jdoors, That's awful....and since THEY are paying off the loan, HE is getting a leg up on his credit building. That stinks. We cosigned Daughter's car loan with the same rules, so far so good *knocks wood* Big advantage is she still lives at home during school breaks so she's easily accessable for nagging--and when she got a parking ticket at school, the bill came to US, being that Hubby's name is also on the registration, so WE knew about it--an opportunity to be mean Liz

Well, I'm a really mean Mom, Hondaboy! My kids bought "Mom's cars"--reason being, we knew the history and the glitches, they got the cars "family discount cheap" and because the kids actually paid their hard earned money for them, they took care of them! Both cars got over 200,000 miles before they died. AND of course, they bought their replacements! One of Son's friends is daughter of a multimillionare--yes, her Dad gave her his "old Lexus" (which has an awful interior smell of unknown origin.....), but for college, he arranged for her to live in the smallest, crappiest, cheapest Dorm Room
