  1. Happy Birthday folks. May you each be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  2. Hi Mac, and everyone. No thanks on the cookies. I am just fullup of all the holiday goodies, but do offer them again in another month or two or three. Ha!!! Have had heavy rains and windy at times too, and low barometric pressure with each storm going through (so low at times my ears hurt). Some flooding in Oregon, and mudslides too. Nothing like poor Northern California got from the split Jet Stream taking the brunt of the storms to them. Take care folks. Stay safe, warm, and dry. Have a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year. Love ya all. Sorry about the double post, don't know how I did
  3. As many of you know, I am still a member over there (not banned yet though I think it has probably been considered a few times...Ha!) I don't know if I can explain all my reasons for continuing to go there. I guess #1 would be Just Plain Stubborness!!! I refuse to give up the idea of it being a tech board, until I am kicked out the door of the last shreds of a tech board I wont give up that it should be one. So just plain stubborn. #2, Also more of the same as #1, I refuse to let the nasty foul mouthed, dirty gutter stuff, deter me from trying, in however feeble a way I can, to help people an
  4. Ha Ha!!! Now do the same for the dog! Pat. God bless everyone.
  5. TK, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I hope the killer is caught and punished. Such terrible senseless things happen in this world. My prayers go out for you, and the father of the young man. Remember to share what/who you have so recently found with everyone you see if you can. There is no way to know when we will die, so share your newfound HOPE while there is time. Take care my friend, hugs to you. Pat. God bless everyone.
  6. Happy Birthday Tommyd, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat. God bless everyone.
  7. Another suggestion is to stagger your reports... do one credit bureau each 4 months, that way you have more up to date information if something does happen that you need to know about faster. Thanks for the reminder to do it. Here is a link to the FTC article about the free credit reports, it also gives the phone number if you want to do it by phone, and the address if you want to do it by mail. FTC article on how to get free credit reports Pat God bless everyone.
  8. There is a very good long article at the Snopes site about this. As mentioned earlier, it is opt in only. And it isn't for telemarketers anyhow, but directory assistance. Yes you can list your cell phone number with the Federal Do Not Call List site, but it is not necessary to for privacy protection, as the future proposed list will be opt in only. (Though why anyone would opt in I have no idea?!) Snopes article about cell phone list (opt-in only) versus doing Do Not Call list This has become such a hot potato item that I personally doubt if the phone companies will ever do it at all. The thi
  9. Hi Liz, Well I just wasted a few minutes at the non-user-friendly Microsoft site looking, yes using their search too, for the answer for you. Zilch, sorry!!! I never can find anything over there though, so maybe someone else can for you. Do you by chance still have the box, or manual for it? Maybe it will tell you, or it might be listed somewhere in the computer it's on if the license allows more than one computer, or go look at a box at the store? But I am guessing it wont allow it. You know Bill needs to pay for all that Microsoft campus and the employees salaries etc, and of course the mor
  10. Now that clerk made a big good impression with not only the customer she had, but all that saw her make the extra effort to make the customer happy. A caring clerk makes the store look good and customers will come back because of her. Congratulations to her, and to the other clerks assisting her, and to those in line waiting patiently. I love happy endings!!! I couldn't remember the name of this thread yesterday, and was only in view new posts, not in main section, planned to look for the thread today but got sidetracked so am pleased to see you bump it up not only with a good report, but so I
  11. Glad to see you back here Marty, we have missed you!!! Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and eat healthy food to build your system back up to normal. Rest, rest, then more rest even when you think you're rested up rest some more. Been there done that, it really takes a toll on the body!!! Take care my friend, we're praying for you. Pat. God bless everyone.
  12. Good to see you back on the boards. We have missed seeing you around here!!! Congratulations on the baby boy. Pat God bless everyone.
  13. Congratulations!!! Pat God bless everyone.
  14. Hello Pete, Let me throw in a guess here. I think op might have meant, but misspelled it, WinPatrol. Here is a link for you. Marsh_Ox used to recommend it and some other folks too. WinPatrol Pat. God bless everyone.
  15. shopping...as in it's madness to shop on the busiest days of the year!!! Pat God bless everyone.
  16. Sorry Chappy that it doesn't show up for you. I just checked it out again , no ad thanks to Norton firewall, and it says Enjoy will load in ten seconds, then it does it. Also as Liz said, upper corner right corner says Continue on to Enjoy (Enjoy is the name of article), clicking on that loads it right up. Funny thing, I didn't get any ads or wait to load articles or index etc on other times recently to the site, but that stupid drug ad appeared a couple of times a couple of years ago. Maybe it is only there once in awhile? I remember it was a dumb ad...sounded almost like it was pro drugs o
  17. I am afraid I am guilty of pushing the shopping cart down middle of aisle thing sometimes (swerving to the right as needed for others to pass), but alot of times I do it because I don't want to walk close to the goods on shelves that are sticking out into aisle to knock them off, or those blinkety-blankety stupid stick straight out take a coupon thingamajiggers, those things could poke an eye out and are low enough even for my eyes. And what's the idea of planning a new store with posts in the aisle to have trouble getting around with cart? Why weren't the support posts (brand new store a year
  18. Merry Christmas Everyone, and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year to All. Happy Birthday Jesus!!! Pat. God bless everyone.
  19. Here's a nice Christmas present for coffee drinkers. Enjoy Your Coffee With No Worries Now. That U.S. News article sure cheered me up since I drink a lot of coffee. Kind of nice when something you like actually turns out to be good for you. Pat. God bless everyone.
  20. I found this link posted by tambits10 at Leoville, thought it was hilarious. How to wrap a present. I laughed with empathy. (I have a Siamese...who is the reason for my screen name here and elsewhere as she helps/bosses me even at the computer.) Last night was interesting, had a wind storm blow through about 3am here, in fact so strong it blew open our front door, (luckily the night temp was fairly mild (upper 40's) compared to the nasty low 20's to low 30's cold weather for most of month previous to last week's warm up). Anyhow the cat tried to wake me up, I just tucked her in under covers, n
  21. Yummmm! mmblll,l mmmbyl, ooops sorry ... mouth full of cookies. Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year to all. Love ya!!! Grabbing some more cookies as I go...yummm!!! God bless everyone.
  22. I saw gas at $1.89 at one nearby station today, and $1.99 at the one across the street from that one. I think they are waiting till good weather to hike the prices sky high again. As for heating oil, I understand it is out of sight price-wise. And our PGE electric company, part of the Enron mess, has a coal fired plant (their cheapest plant) offline since Oct and another couple of months to go to fix a bad turbine. So will be asking PUC for a rate hike. Funny how I never see them ask for a rate decrease. And of course they (parent company Enron with help from some PGE folks) were infamous for
  23. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the BestTechie family. Love, Pat. God bless everyone.
  24. Now that just wouldn't work with my impulse fast temper, I can't back off and plan out something to do, it is do it now or never!!! If I can just try to calm down, muttering all the while, I'll get over the idea of knocking their front teeth down to their toes, but oh my those first few minutes are dicey. Now my hubby is the calm one but watch out when he does get fired up mad!!! So Lord help us not blow at the same time, or at each other, and not do anything that would make things worse. That's the hardest part, calming down before something does get alot worse!!! I do think that JDoors, an
  25. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my BestTechie family. I love you all. Pat God bless everyone.
