Hello folks, Sunny here today about 40 degrees with lows to be 29 or so the next few nights. We have had low snow levels lately, even had a few inches of wet snow in hills around the metro area the other day, plus the North Oregon coast beaches even got a dusting yesterday which is rare. The Cascades got pounded with whiteout blizzard conditions, 75 mph gusts with 30 or more inches of powder snow, and even a thunderstorm to make it more interesting up there. Sorry Liz, but no fireflies here in the NW either, at least in the western side of Washington or Oregon. I can't remember if Mom ever mentioned them being in Spokane area (eastern Washington) where she grew up though. By the way, big storm hitting the NW today, tonight and tomorrow. High winds (so I might not be on board very long if it gets worse), heavy rains on the coast and here in the Willamette valley, and blizzard conditions in Cascade mountains, and lowering snow levels to about 1000 feet or less. So hopefully we don't get any here. Major storm especially for this time of year. Weird

I am so glad you are relatively ok. You are so lucky it wasn't worse, both for your self and the surrounding area!!! Try using some Aloe Vera on the burns, you can get the 99% pure stuff in a tube at the health food/vitamins/supplements section of store. The brand I use is Lily of the Desert, 4 oz for about 4 or 5 dollars. Anyhow it helps the burns heal without scarring. Of course if the burns were really bad, do as the Drs tell you. I am surprised that anyone in Texas or the other extremely dry states are even allowed to do any type of fires or burning outside. I am glad you survived it all

That may be truer than any of us want to think about. "Dr. Death" Australia's term for Dr. Patel, actually "practised" here in Portland's Kaiser system ( which is our medical plan), botching many surgeries and killing people due to sloppy work. Kaiser didn't even report it to our feeble state medical review board due to some legal out, in fact they didn't even seem to notice all the botched surgeries for several years and hadn't checked him out before hiring him or they would have known he was reprimanded or worse in NY before coming here . Is anyone else fighting the cold/flu bugs? Hubby and I have been fighting some bug (we had our flu shots too) for several weeks now. Just about the time we seem to be climbing up out of it, we relapse and feel worse than we did in first place, or the symptoms just change. Yuck!!! Hubby is the sickest, and has the worst cough, has been able to keep working through out it except today. I haven't done a Google search for a few days, but just did one and at bottom right hand corner of the first search results page was a small supposedly Google display insert of various things like news, email, weather, DJI, and something about lunch tomorrow with Mandy in middle of insert???? So is that just an example of their desktop thingy that was mentioned to the left to download, or has my Google search been taken over by something?
