Try reassociating all picture extensions back to Windows Picture and Fax viewer to see if they'll open. In control panel - folder options - file types tab, scroll to jpeg/jpg, gif, and bmp if you want to change all of them, highlight the extension and see what it opens with. If its not Pix & Fax viewer click Change and select it from the list, select the Always Use box and OK out. Do this for all picture extensions and see what happens. Dave

Just to add a small word of warning about using this tip from my buddy Crow. Anytime a Windows update is applied, such as SP1 or SP2, some system files are updated and the file DATE is changed to reflect the newer version. SFC will scan and replace files that have been updated because it cannot determine the file is valid as it doesn't recognize the updated version. It will ask to replace this file and if the OK is given it will replace the new file with what it has on the install CD (older version). Hi jerrys It's very simple to move non-OS related data into another partition/drive. Simply make sure that the partition is formatted in the same file system as the data being moved is formatted in. Using XP it is most likely in NTFS format unless you specified otherwise. Just create a folder or folders as you need, in the new drive and then right click the things you want to move, select Move to, browse to your new folder and highlight it, then click OK. Hey JSKY I prefer splitting them up myself for various reasons. 1) If your main OS becomes unbootable or unreadable, your data and personal things can be safe on another partition 2) easier maintenance - you only need to defrag a small portion of the disk as they are required rather than having to defrag the entire 120G's 3) hiding info from prying eyes - if you have other users and don't want them accessing certain data you can put it into a partition and hide the drive from them 4) keep some space as Unallocated, not just Unused. NTLDR is a file off of the XP CD and has nothing to do with the drive itself. I would say this is either a read/write problem with the CD drive itself or a damaged CD. If the CD works in another CD drive it could still be slightly scratched but one drive may still read from it while another may not. Since it fails while trying to load the same file I would say it's the CD and the drive cannot read it, maybe due to a slight miscalibration or an IDE cable issue. Reformat using the XP CD utility and try again a few times. Or you could borrow a drive from the other machine, install it and try that

Yes of course, there's always a way to reverse this. I've use Sygate for the last 3 years so I'm not exactly positive Select Program Control>Programs - this should open a Programs list. Now find the program that you denied access to and change the access from a "X" to a green checkmark for Access or a "?" for ask. There is also an "Allow" in the shortcut menu that you can click to do this after you highlight the wanted program. Dave

Actually the reason for this is in the way the Manufacturer calculate a Gigabyte. A true Gig is 1024MB but the Drive makers round this out to 1000MB when stating a drive capacity, so... Drive maker says 60G but it is really arond 58G, then you can calculate a small percentage as "Lost" space Dave
