Playing Vcd File On A Dvd Player?
Besttechie replied to IEatHardDrives's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Well, If the DVD Player can play CD-R's then yeah it should, if not - It probably won't. B -
Okay well, First off is this the error you get? Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced If so, The letters "ced" at the end of the error message are not really part of the error message. The previous screen included these letters and was not completely erased when the error message appeared, which might explain why you couldn't find it. Anyway... Normally that error happens because you have an ATA66 PCI controller card installed or your system registry is too large and unable to load. I'd check out this link: http://support.mi

3 Problems With Windows 2000
Besttechie replied to dvmdave's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
By the way, I moved this thread to PC Support since it's a thread for help and not a tip or a trick. As for question #3 that isn't good at all, if you don't know what ntoskrnl.exe is it's a vital system file. ntoskrnl.exe is a critical process in the boot-up cycle of your computer. Look here for more info as well as some suggested fixes that might help you out: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000646.htm B -

Heh, yeah. I actually have the Windows 3.1 floppy files on my hard drive, just need to get some floppies (need 6 of them) so I can install it on a VM and play around with it. Not to mention I just installed IE 7 Beta 2 and it's not too bad. It's feel is a lot like Opera and it has some nice features. I'm still playing around with it. Not too bad. You should drop by the BestTechie Chat - it's fun. Lots of teens who like PC's are there along with many older geeks. Plus we have some people who just hang around to chat. Very diverse chatroom. Come check it out. I'll see you there, if y

Nice! Very Very Good! Okay, if you want, you can delete the !KillBox folder it should be located in the root of your local disk (eg. C:\!KillBox) that folder is just back ups. Other than that how's the machine running? Call the cable company and see if you're still "spamming the network" etc. You shouldn't be doing that any more, because we just removed the rootkit (trojan) it seems your machine was probably sending out spam to probably millions of people. So hence "spamming", but you're good now. Also, I recommend just using one AV, having more than one running at once can cause confli

Ok, boot to safe mode and run Backlight again, just like last time. Run the program, accept statement>next>click> scan>next. If any items are detected have blacklite rename them except for "wbemtest.exe". Do not rename "wbemtest.exe" its a windows file. If there are any other files you THINK may be valid don't rename them. Help is available HERE The tool will ask if you want to reboot (restart) choose yes. please post the contents of report.txt (it should open; If it does not open or you close it..find a copy in c:\fixwareout folder.) a new HijackThis log log from blacklig

Ok, now we're going to try and use a program called Killbox to delete the files. Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download. Save it to your desktop. Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it. Select: Delete on Reboot then Click on the All Files button. [*]Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy): C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\i386p.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\msctl32.dll [*] Return

Ok, we're going to have to take a different approach. Boot to safe mode and do the following: Create a Startup List Open HiJackThis Click on the "Open the Misc Tools Section" Check off the 2 boxes next to the Box that says "Generate StartupList log" Click on the button "Generate StartupList log" Copy and past the StartupList from the notepad into your next post B
