Iwant To Start A Website Free One I Don't Have To Pay
Besttechie replied to missy51633's topic in Website Design & SEO Help
Hey missy, Since you don't want to spend any money and you don't really know how to design a site - I personally think the best place to start and you can do all of the things you want is create an artists account on a site called PureVolume.com -- http://www.purevolume.com - Once you've created the account you can login and upload photos, music, post bulletins (for shows, updates, etc), and even blog entries and you'll get your own custom url as shown below: Here's an example of my band page - as you see it's not an 'official' band yet so there's no pictures, music or anything just my guitar, -
Well, both site resolve to the same DNS server... I've never ordered from there though so I don't know. [09/18/06 -:- 20:25:52] * Dns resolving inkjetcartridges.com - [09/18/06 -:- 20:25:53] * Dns resolved inkjetcartridges.com to 66.98.188.39 [09/18/06 -:- 20:26:11] * Dns resolving clientcart.com - [09/18/06 -:- 20:26:13] * Dns resolved clientcart.com to 66.98.188.39 B

Hey Everyone, This notice is for anyone who uses the BestTechie IRC Server to connect to the WyldRyde IRC Network: Due to technical difficulties BestTechie.WyldRyde.org is unavailable. We are working to resolve this situation as soon as possible. Meanwhile, please feel free to use irc.WyldRyde.org for all your chatting needs. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm working on getting a new server up and running, until then use the alternative suggested. It will connect you to another server on the network. B

Yes it was Pierce's idea to impliment the search engine friendly urls. Pierce has been helping me a lot lately with a bunch of ideas such as using the blog as the main site, putting in google analytics, the searcn engine friendly urls and a few other things. He actually started a forum which seems to be down at the moment - but the general idea of the forum is for site owners to learn how to expand and make their sites grow. Like increasing traffic, hits, search engine results, etc. The name of the site if anyone is interested is http://techglitch.com ... it's just starting but Pierce has

Both. It's a mod that does it with .htaccess and mod_rewrite (the apache module). B

Hi Everyone, I have just implimented search engine friendly urls on the BestTechie Forums. These types are URL's are well, as you may have guessed more search engine friendly - meaning better search engine results, etc. All the old links will still work so if you have any saved they will still go to the same thread and everything. Just wanted to let everyone know so they didn't wonder why the links have changed all of the sudden. Example of the new search engine friendly url: http://www.besttechie.net/forums/Besttechie-m1.html B

Hey kb, I'm just going to move this to the electronics forum as I think its better suited for this question than Open Chat. B

Friend of mine on IRC made it for me. I like it, it's nice and clean. Not too much going on and just the way I want it, it fits.
-
That's just css afaik, it shouldn't be any slower on any type of connection, I could however be wrong as I'm not into web design as much as other areas. B
-
Okay, it's up. Not 100% the way I want it, but it's good enough to be back up as this is a full-time web site I didn't want to keep the main page down too long. Anyway...here it is: http://besttechie.net <-- new banner which I think is amazing, we also got a new favicon. I will be adding more to the site in the coming weeks. B
-
Ok, forget the banner I got someone to make one for me... Site should be up soon, I'll post when it is. B
-
Well, I need a new banner... Looking for 750x150 -- I need it to say BestTechie.net in the left middle to middle. I want either a nice dark color (dark blue, black) on the top of the banner and somewhat lighter shades of it underneath. I'd also like to have an image or two integrated in the banner, preferably a keyboard, some kind of wiring (cables, etc), mouse or anything computer related if you find something better. I really really would like to have today (if possible) if not sometime tomorrow? Thanks to anyone who is willing to help. B

Hey Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know I took the main site down to work on it. It will be back soon, the forums will remain up and running as usual. B
-
Well, the easiest way to do it would be to just use one of those types of sites. Since you most likely wouldn't want to use a proxy all the time. Personally, I'd just go through the proxy when visiting the .tk sites... B
-
Yeah, the person who had problems accessing the .tk was also using roadrunner. Only way I can think of without switching ISP's is possibly going through a proxy? B
-
Weird.. considering Google donated a lot of money to Opera. I'm sure they have plans to add support for it. B
-
Who's your ISP? I do know for a fact that some ISP's block the .tk domains. I'm almost willing to bet that that's why you can't access any .tk site. Also, only reason I know this is because I know someone who had the same problem, turned out to be their ISP. They could reach the main site, but not any of the others. B
