  1. Fixed. Thanks for pointing it out TT. B
  2. Which clearly isn't quite good at all... B
  3. Why even bother with G4 Tech Support when you have BestTechie.net ... seems like a no-brainer. B
  4. Please read this blog post to see the schedule for the streaming network: http://www.besttechie.net/2008/02/03/bestt...aming-schedule/ B
  5. I went to run a speed test on Speedtest.net and this caught my eye: Any ideas? Note: Apparently after further looking it to they did mean Australasia as in Australia, new guinea, new Zealand, some of the smaller islands to the north. The whole "Continents" thing threw me off...then guess again, SA wouldn't be a continent either. It's been a long day... :x Oh well, speed test results: B
  6. The main issue (with Apple Records) if I recall correctly really began when Apple Inc. opened up the iTunes Music Store... B
  7. Sounds good! I can't wait for the final release, the RC's have made an obvious improvement. B
  8. Nit: it's infringement if the use of the trademark "is likely to cause confusion, or to cause mistake, or to deceive". (IANAL, TINLA, etc.) Yes, true. However, the Apple logo is a very distinct logo, I think it would be safe to say anyone who tried to use a similar logo for a business (providing the business is in the same field as Apple Inc.) has seen or heard of the Apple brand, thus I would bet Apple would go after them, even if its on the grounds of just protecting the mark for the sheer reason, if they don't, they could potentially lose it. If I recall correctly, even using a name such
  9. It is not unusual at all, actually. The Apple logo is a trademark. Any use of said logo without the express written consent of Apple would be blatant trademark infringement. B
  10. I downloaded the application, it barely works...if at all. The music page was timing out all afternoon. Now I see some Oracle page, heh. It is also based off songbird. B
  11. I'm a little confused here... Is that your friends website? or is someone using that website to contact your friend? If it's your friends website, the best option is do a complete rewrite of the contact form using PHP. With PHP, you can implement something like the following in the contact form script which will display the date, browser, ip address, and hostname. Of course, you do not have to use all of it, but only what you would like. // additional (client) information $body .= "\n\nAdditional (client) information:\n\n" . 'Date = ' . date('Y-m-d H:i') . "\n" . 'Browser = ' . HTTP_USER_
  12. Sounds like a decent approach, I really wish the "iPod Solution" would be coming a lot faster than April though... B
  13. I enabled them earlier for members as well. I'm not sure whether or not it is staying that way (hence why no announcement), but that is how it is for right now. As you may or may not know, it costs a lot of money to run and maintain this website, the ads are simply a way to help pay for hosting and any other fees that come with the site. However, with that said, I did my best to keep them non-intrusive and only in one post at the beginning. I did not put ads at the top of the forums for members to see as Guests do. B

  16. Just blogged it... http://www.besttechie.net/2008/01/26/the-u...al-office-2007/ B
  17. Yeah, I heard about this as well, just bought a copy for myself. Not to mention, I love the fact my school is part of the MSDN-Academic Alliance - lots of free stuff. B
  18. Everything you see is from your own iGoogle page, the only thing that does is "theme it" for lack of better words. B
  19. If you have/use iGoogle, put this in your address bar (or simply click): http://www.google.com/ig?skin=http://www.b...p/btigoogle.xml Pretty cool, huh? Think I'll set that as my home page now... I'm also considering submitting it. What do you think? B
  20. Thanks everyone so far, I'm actually still tweaking it... well, at least the front page. I think I've almost got it, though I might call it a night now. B
  21. Hi Everyone, I decided it was time to redo the main part of the site (the home page/blog portion) and I hope now I will be able to customize the forums to a similar/matching look. It has been a goal of mine to make the site and forums match, however, I have yet to find a site design that I felt would work with the forums. Well, as of today, I think I found one. I really like the new site and layout of it, go take a look for yourself... http://www.besttechie.net B
  22. That is actually RubbeRDuckY's application, he also just released a new Anti-Malware application that was just released out of beta yesterday. I highly recommend it. B
  23. Hi Everyone, Just a little announcement here, I have created a feed switcher for LIVE.BESTTECHIE.NET - the feed switcher will allow me to create a network of streamers for the site. So, for example, if I am away or off air, I or anyone with access can set it the feed to someone else through IRC in which it will update http://live.besttechie.net to the current stream that is set. Even more reason to come join us and chat...never know who will show up! By the way, if you start a show and would like me to consider adding you as a streamer for BestTechie.net - send me a PM with the following inf
  24. I agree, but then again, I'm biased... B
