  1. If you had System Restore enabled before you installed the program just restore to a point before the install. That's all I do when removing a program that I didn't like. It saves you from running a registry cleaner. In fact before installing any new program I create a new restore point and name it Before installing program name, that way I can revert to my previous setup with ease.
  2. We're allowed 6" high grass/weeds before it gets mowed by the city in two weeks after being notified, who then attaches the cost ($25/hour) to the water/sewer/garbage bill. We can bag grass clipping/leaves and leave them out to the curb along with branches upto 6" diameter and 3' length anytime. When the garbage crew comes by on Wednesday for my ward they will call into the DPW garage and report that the stuff is at the curb and that crew will come and pick them up.
  3. Talk about patently unfair. Can I assume sock puppets are multiple accounts used to skew a vote? BH sock puppets equals followers who voice the same opinion of the complainant that the Wikipedia dictators disagree with.
  4. With all the snow I get plus the spring rains the ground is too soft to use my 4wdPU. I already have two foot deep ruts in my side yard which is the highest point of the property.
  5. I'm just going to look at my lawn grow until this weekend. I bought a new blade for the Murray push mower yesterday. Man, have they gone up in price. The MTD rider is going to sit out most of this year. I have a lot of work to do on it. Once they hit ten years old the part failure occurs regularly if you can't stay on top of it, but it does start up immediately and runs great. The MTD is a beast. 18HP twin cylinder industrial with a 46" cut. I've put slings around small trees that were on the ground and pulled them with it. I used to like the old Cub Cadets but the newer ones are cheaply built
  6. That used to be normal driving for me when going to work in East Syracuse. I would blow through the traffic on SR 690 near the State Fair Grounds doing well over 120 m.p.h. early in the mornings. The fastest I ever had the old G.P. at was 155 m.p.h. on SR 481. I woke a sheriff up that was snoozing in the u-turn at 6 A.M. one morning when I worked at Budweiser in Radisson, NY. I saw him a couple days later at a bar. He was still in a state of shock. He told me his car shook and that the rumble of my exhaust just about deafened him.
  7. The only item missing from the men's list (it could go in there at several points) is getting rust in your eyes while under the car, having to stop to get the flecks of metal out of your eye, then having to continue with your eyes teared up so you can't see what you're doing. Um, I'm hesitant to admit this now, but I've been using Jiffy Lube for almost ten years. I'm just plain ol' tuckered out from that long list of B.S. we have to go through to get the job done. Fifteen minutes, write a check, it's done. Plus they fill fluids, check things I'd likely skip, fill the tires, change bulbs, etc.
  8. You could slave your drive in another computer and save the files. If your drive is formatted NTFS make sure the drive you slave to is NTFS also. FAT 32 wouldn't be able to access your drive if it's NTFS. After saving your files format your drive and install a full version of XP. You will also need to obtain the drivers for your hardware. HP/Compaq's website isn't known to be very supportive when it comes to drivers. The Win95 bootdisk may not be able to help you trying to repair the registry problem. Try creating the WinXP disks. How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks You can search ebay f
  9. The one we had here was shutdown after several lawsuits. I know of two engines replaced due to their incompetence. The only person that has ever turned the wrenches on my vehicles is me.
  10. Oil Change Instructions for Women 1) Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 miles since last oil change. 2) Drink cup of coffee. 3) 15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle. 4) Leave Jiffy Lube to go shopping at the mall thirty miles away. 5) Halfway there notice the car is getting sluggish and overheating slightly. 6) Pull into mall and spend $150 on odds and ends (There were great sales). 7) While putting bags in the trunk notice a black line along the asphalt leading to the car. Think nothing of it. 8) While driving back home really notice th
  11. I usually allow the grass to grow to 5" before the first couple of mowings. I maintain it at 3 1/2-4". I'll stick with my Murray mowers with Briggs & Stratton engines.
  12. I believe at Gateway's support there is a place to insert your serial number and it will tell what hardware was installed when it was built.
  13. I get errors also but that is usually because my brain and fingers sometimes forget to sync themselves.
  14. Some slim and desktop PC cases use a low profile card. They have a shorter I/O bracket.
  15. I took typing in high school many moons ago. A PC keyboard is just not the same. I make much less mistakes with two fingers, but not that much less. After time I have gotten used to two finger typing and can proceed quite fast.
  16. Better a flattened skunk out in the road then one living in the crawl space under where you sleep all winter.
  17. Nothing like the smell of a fresh mowed lawn and the good feeling of unused muscles getting a decent workout from pushing that lawn mower. It evens feels good to have the sun beating down on you replenishing that wonderful natural Vitamin D. Good seeing you back tenmm. Stick around and help liven up these boards.
  18. When I trashed my ankle playing softball my leg from the knee down to the tips of my toes turned almost solid black from bruising. I used Asorbine Jr to relieve the pain and reduce the bruising. It worked quite well.
  19. I would suspect DiskView is giving an inaccurate reading for one. As for getting access to the old My Documents How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP.
  20. Besides bad power supply or heat due to dust buildup I would say to check Device Manager for video problems. The driver may be corrupted or the video (onboard?) is going bad.
  21. I heard about it some time ago but never had the chance to use one. I don't think I would care to use the software to remap the present board.
  22. I wonder about setting up a methane digester on top of the sewer manhole out front so I can run a low-BTU generator to p[ower my place.
  23. Where are you trying to access user.js from?
  24. You're not supposed to run all of your PCs off one outlet?! I only have three 15 amp legs feeding the whole front section of the house where all of my equipment is. I run the TV, cable box, 2 stereos, 3 computers, 2 printers, refrigerator, 2 ceiling fans (winter & summer) plus other fans (summer), lights, washer, furnace fan and my electric power tools. I would like to fit your bowling machine in here.
  25. You know they'll get it on there anyways - I loaded mine though since I have no worries I hate installing updates that are not security patches or bug fixes for the OS. I even regret installing WMP10. It sucks.
