A few light rain showers this morning which cooled it down to the mid 80s, but the humidity nailed us hard. Looks like tomorrow may be in the upper 70s with lower humidity, Friday in the low 80s and the high heat and humidity is to return on Saturday. Two more days to go on gutting that house.

92F and humid in the house. Outside is brutal. The heat has been wiping me out at work. I have been cleaning out a house that was condemned, in preparation of demolition, the last two days. The previous residents never put out their trash for over a year. The refrigerator and freezer was full of rotting food. Everything inside is covered with mold. I had a 20 yard dumpster delivered today just to get rid of the trash, furniture and appliances. I hope it is big enough. I am staying on the computer long enough to check out all of my favorite sites then shutting down to reduce the heat in here.

Opera does everything I need it to do. After all of the hassles I had with Firefox in the past it will not be used on my PCs again.

What anti-virus were you using previously? Did you completely remove it before trying to install Bit Defender?

If you continue to unplug it to force a restart you will corrupt the Windows installation. I would begin by downloading the utilities from the hard drive manufacturer for your drive and run the tests. I would also run Check Disk once you have successfully booted.

I had to collect some overdue rents, show the property owner's son, who hasn't been around here in three years, some of the units that were mold damaged, serve a couple of evictions and then at the end of the day my trusty old GMC died. I left it parked on the job and walked the mile to my old bar for a couple of cold ginger ales while I calmed down. Looks like I will be spending the weekend sorting out the fuel system on it. I just love fuel injection setups.

I cannot find a decent review of that laptop. I would try and scrape together another $50 to $100 and pick one of the higher rated laptops with a GeForce 8600M GT graphics. Stay clear of Toshibas.
