  1. You should try a gaming forum. From what I understand Starforce 3 is copy protection that once you install the game on one PC it won't allow you to install on another due to it using information from the CD drive itself. If you are trying to avoid this protection then the discussion must be locked.
  2. Put it in a external enclosure. You can remove it so ti can't be used.

  4. Many drives have a jumper setting Master with dual drives or Master with Slave and etc. You will need to jumper your drive as one of these and jumper the one you are working on to Slave. If it was me I would put it in your computer as Master by itself and use a Win98/ME bootdisk to format it FAT32. You can change it to NTFS later when you install WinXP. You shouldn't install WinXP on it while in your computer. Install it while it is in his computer. Do you have a floppy drive on your computer? I use this WinME bootdisk from Radifed. Just format a floppy then install this to it (self-extracting

  7. Read: Microsoft Ships IE (Eolas) Update I didn't realize what it was for and downloaded it to my Win98SE PC. It was in the list when I went to Windows Update. This update blocked the use of Panda Active Scan and HouseCall. I could not find anywhere to click as instructed to allow the ActiveX component required. This update is not required for security reasons. Microsoft plans to upgrade this update and force it on users later. Additional inforamtion. Internet Explorer ActiveX update

  9. I have their highest tier digital package that includes all the HBO, Showtime and Starz channels. I only watch about 18% of the channels but they are spread throughout the different tiers. I would like to see a law passed where the consumers can pick only the channels that they want. I am also stirring the pot in trying to overturn the monpoly of TW in the area.
  10. I squeeked for 3 years before Time Warner fixed my cable TV service. They suck. I pay $110/month for cable TV and expect the same service I get from my phone company (Alltel) which is great. I only pay them $55/month for my phone and 3Mb/384Kb DSL.
  11. My local RoadRunner abused friend just called and woke me up to reply to my question about his service. In the 5 years he has used it his connection constantlymesses up and he has to unplug his modem. His words are Time Warner acts like they did something then lies and still sends the monthly bill.
  12. Fire Time Warner. All my dealings with them have been fruitless. Does your setup work using someone else's connection?

Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it or doctors interested in simply running up the medical bills. 21. I haven't been infected by an email in the last 5 years since I started to disable the preview pane and not opening emails with attachments that I didn't ask for. Panda also is doing a great job in scanning the emails as they arrive plus using Opera I now get a warning box about emails wanting to set a cookie.
  22. I did a minimal custom install of Win98SE and IE6. Tweaked the heck out of the memory settings. Used the original RegCleaner (jv16) to remove unneeded programs. Intalled TweakUI 1.33 to alter the setup further. Downloaded StartupCPL to disable unnecessary crap from starting up. Ran multiple scans to find programs that report back and remove them. Searched the web for other tips to improve performance and increase stability. Download only those programs that I have used previously that worked successfully. Downloaded and installed updated drivers for everything. My computer has never ran this w
