Hey guys I got a job with an upstart wireless company. I went to school with the owner. Anyway I kept in his ear in case he needed a laborer. Went on some installs. Guy wants to put me on. Will not make a million yet. Anywat that's some back ground. He has a server with 5 scuzzy drives and wants to put freebsd. The guy that is there with him has been working 5 days on one server, I got a chance to install freebsd on the second. I'm looking around at freebsd.org, but I thought I would ask I anyone had any pointers or tips.

Update Wiped Hdd twice with killdisk. Used a bootdisk from bootdisk.com for fdisk/format. Installed W98 upgraded to 98SE (didn't have a full SE cd).Installed adaware and spybot from cd with update from 11-17-04. Both found spyware, machine never connected to a phone line, or anything else. Alexa data miner come from IE. Next time you reformat scan and check it out before you connect to the internet. Used JV16 to tidy the registry, nearly 200 entries marked for safe removal. Will bring machine back to owner with a HowTo.txt for maintaince. Going take a nap now. M

I don't believe two on one sys will be a problem unless they see definition files as a virus. Don't have both auto protect at same time, there you will increase you chances for problems. M

This is to go on the win98 machine that I've been posting about. I want to download the IE6 files to burn to cd. I've used the following command from cmd. ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E""" M$ link on this I changed the download folder. I only get two files, filelist.dat 1KB and iesetup 0KB it is a DIR file. Help? Suggestions? M

Firefox needs a plugin to "run" the chat applet. Does anyone know where the plugin can be found? M

Use it as quick storage when doing a reformat. Email the data files to you self. Then download after reformat, delete when finished. Oh it is best not to talk to yourself through these emails it may make you seem like a wierdo. M
