Has anyone noticed a reduction in spam. I have a few disposable email accounts and I get about 5 spam mail a week. I have reported a large number as spammers. just wondering. M

UPDATE Wife bought me a soldering iron for christmas. I took good capacitors from one mobo replaced bad ones one the other. Will test tonight. Will post if I smoke it, cross your fingers. Had to be very carefull not to let the solder run. Called that the pucker factor. If it work I will order caps, cpu, ram, and case to fix the other board. M

Hey guys I work for an upstart Wireless ISP. We have some router that "lock up". We use different brands and all brands seem to have the same problem. We go from the machine via a nic, to the router, out to a bridge (powered via power over ethernet), to repeater towers.... We can see all the equipment except the router and computer. Has anyone had router lock up problems? What fix worked. Our routers have latest firmware updates, even those not updated lock up?! Any suggestions? M ~posted here b/c the hardware is the problem.~

now run spybot, adaware, or a2 (a squared) to see if they find anything. I did a fresh install of XP installed/ran spybot it found three or four things, oh machine was never connected to internet untill after I was fininshed installing all needed programs. M$ had installed trash, spybot removed it. M

sorry it was PCChips "M811LU" KT266A. For $25 US my mom was very satisfied. Had to reformat but I was able to save the info she wanted. I have two exact same mobos with the same problem. Both were from different people but built by the same person. Both were barebone soyo systems. Will attempt to swap bad capisitors for good from one board to the other. Nothing to loose but time. M

I think curlingsteve hit it. That is not how much is being sent per sec, but how much has been sent. My speed is listed as 100 Mbps no fluctuation. But that is not a "true speed". M

My preference is killdisk. Free version make one pass but you could make one pass over and over and over. Then if your machine will boot from cd go with it. If not get the xp boot disks out. Fresh install for the new year. g'luck M
