  1. For file associations. Maybe it looks like Winamps file association icon because VLC doesn't have one... But it sounds like other then the icon, everything is working the way you want. Just a guess*_*
  2. Does VLC have a icon for folders, or is it using a default one (winamps)?
  3. Try setting them to Windows Media Player and see if the icons change. Reinstalling Winamp might be the only thing left that I can think of.

  7. OK... In Winamp, goto Options>preferances>General Preferences>file Types. Under "Explorer Settings" uncheck " Show Winamp in folder context minus in iWindows Explorer" and under "Associated File Types">"Set Selections", uncheck " Restore file associations at winamp startup.
  8. Your replacing the i386 directory in XP Is basically what your doing here. Kinda the main part of the system.
  9. I believe you could be right. Read this post. Reinstall Windows Xp In Unattended Mode Your replacing the i386 directory in XP. I have mostly OEM disks that I use. I never use the restore disk that have come with a PC. To much other stuff to put up with. And never had driver issues.

  12. LOL... I already use WinAmp as my main player. I just don't run the agents. I do like it tho. Listen to the winamps radio all the time. Love the MX Radio stations.
  13. I had a problem with Winamp doing that. I wondered if it was along those lines.. Turn off or disable the "Winamp Agent" after doing what our good old friend Sultan_emerr suggests.
  14. Try this. Before you burn it to a DVD. Defrag the video file. See if it help. I sometimes have had the same sounding problem. And that helped for me.
  15. You never did said what old program is taking control. Is it set to autostart with windows? Check to see if it's in the startup group. Try disabling the old program from starting with the system. Could be a autostart issue. When the old program is starting back up. It could be taking control and making the system switch everything back over to it because it's telling the system that it has first dibs on things.
