I see it at the links posted, but I just checked two machines which had not been updated recently and went to windows update and did a custom. While both wanted to install a new WGA verification , neither shows SP3 at windows update yet. So they must be releasing it regionally , one area at a time . I think I will wait for it to show here on windows update . Reboot after the update and it shows now.

Exactly what goes wrong? Does the ethernet still work and just not the wireless? Does the router loose communication with the internet (modem) or with the computers, or both? What solves it , cycling power on the router, on the modem, on the computer, on everything? Are there any possible RF interference sources? (Cordless phones, wireless mouse and keyboard, microwave oven, CB / Ham radio station....)

They are attempting to do so. Unfortunately , people jump the gun and the product is very complicated and takes time to perfect. They have alpha and then beta releases, they test them extensively and then release them through technet and the Microsoft Software Developers Network to testers who hopefully will discover any conflicts with their products and notify microsoft and between the two either the software developer will fix the incompatability in their product or microsoft can work around it. Finally they post Release Candidates, where they think they have solved all the problems they wer

This weeks specials in the stores locally are Turkeys for 49Cents a pound and Beef ribs for 69 cents. I would go for a turkey, but the OL said that we had one for Easter and that it was to soon to go for another. May just buy one and leave it in the deep freeze. They regularly have pork shoulders for 49Cents a pound in the "family pack" where you get two or three in a cryovac pack. Yes, I think I will definitely try more cuts of meat cooked this way. I agree that poultry and pork should probably be cooked at a higher temp. I guess that means some research to find the recommended temps. http

Don't you just wish that they had router diagnostic software like they make hard drive testers? It could always be the router going bad. I had a magnavox which kept dropping signal every day and had to be powered off and back on to connect and it would work for another day. Eventually it became a brick and even the reset button did nothing. It could be heat, is it in a location where it is not in sunlight and gets adequate airflow? I also would try using the reset button and re configuring everything and seeing if that helps. Do you have it plugged into a UPS with automatic voltage regulat

Look at it this way and you may not be so pleased. This is not a gift or grant, they borrowed money from China to give to you and sooner or later taxes will have to rise to pay it off with interest. Of course it is probably at a better rate than you could get from a credit card company or even on a mortgage these days. Only one I have seen at Wally world is the $53 Magnavox. Maybe they will have it on sale for less maybe not.

Well today is Cinquo de Mayo (May 5th the celebration of the victory at the battle of Puebla when General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguÃn - born in Texas- defeated French forces in 1862. Although this only delayed the fall of Mexico City and installation of Maximillian I as Emperor of Mexico by Napoleon III of France, this delay was sufficient to derail the plan to take advantage of the US Civil war to dispute the validity of the Lousianna Purchase by the US and seize the majority of the US west of the Mississippi and return it to French control). So yesterday we had our Cinquo De Mayo get together

I was going to say I use bungee cords like that to tie things down to my truck. Why waste money on this imaginary exercise system which will just gather dust (I bought the OL one of those ones with springs , as well as a treadmill, air resistance bike.... and they all gather dust). I get far more use out of the inclined exercise bench I built out of an old aluminum 1/2 of an extension ladder and 2x10 with a couple hooks at the end and a foot strap. Secure ladder to any wall inside or out. Hook the 2x10 over the rung you want to get the angle you want, climb up and sit down and stap in your

Do you have theme XP or one of those shells installed? This sounds like what happens when you have the swissboy bootscreen replacement installed and the image is missing or you have the one which gets a new pic off the web and changes the bootscreen each time you boot (not sure if it does this before shutting down or it actually accesses the web before it is fully booted in which case it can be a firewall issue not a problem with the server hosting the images). So , have you been messing with your bootscreen display or have you installed a non windows theme manager? It may also occur if you u

When you build your own PC , the upgrade path should be a major consideration. By properly planning things from the outset, you will be able to upgrade later without having to totally replace the computer. For example, if you choose a motherboard which supports faster processors then you can now probably buy a much faster processor for less than you paid for the one you have now. Likewise if you choose a board which supports 4GB of RAM you probably have the ability to add a bunch. Upgrading the video card again may depend on the motherboard. Two years ago PCI-Express was in its infancy and n

http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.php 0x1000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M Essentially the same error as 0x7E above. 0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED A system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch. There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or some software issues. Check Event Viewer (EventVwr.msc) for additional information. My understanding is that the 0x1 are more likely to be hardware incompatabilities or defects while 0x0 versions are more likely to

Sad news, looks like she was a real fighter. Take time to grieve and help close loose ends, but do not dwell on the loss; remember the good times.

That unplugging the power cord is the only solution makes me very strongly suspect that the power supply is bad. That it is an Emachines having this problem makes me even more confident that this is the probable cause.

You go to start / run and type combofix /u hit enter (note the space between the x and /u) If shown a disclaimer select 2 This should uninstall combofix, delete all backups of files it deleted and its related files and folders, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and flush and reset your system restore . You should double check that the folder C:\Qoobox and any logs C:\Combofix.txt are also deleted, but they should be gone.

Yep , here in Texas the spring rains bring rapid leafing out and fresh growth so tree limbs are heavy and spring is thunderstorm season and that means high winds which break branches. Not to mention the tornadoes and hail storms. Whether it is broken poles or just tree limbs falling on the lines or shorting them storms tend to bring outages. Big problem is all the morons who try to keep the electic company from trimming trees which threaten the lines (especially during the rest of the year when they have time to do so) saying that they mutilate the trees and should not trim so much off .... t

Setting Up A Printer For A Home Network
Pete_C replied to intocomputing2's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Personally, My preference is to use one of the printers designed for network sharing which have wireless or ethernet connectivity and connect to your router so you do not have to have another computer on . I have tried sharing the printer connected to one computer over the network, tired USB autoswitches (and manual ones) and tried print servers; but of all the options the one which satisfied me most was to buy a HP PSC all in one with network connectivity and hook it to the router by ethernet. (the one I got also has a fax feature where you connect a phone line to it and it receives incommin -
I must be in the wrong business. Isn't that the way it always is? Just like checkout lines at the grocery; if you change though, it does not seem to be any better.

I have a neighbor whose son is a Lexus Mechanic. He seems to make VERY good money.

Can't see the larger pic on the site, not sure if there's a media download available (odd extension), but that small pic pretty much says it all! Yikes. Rain here, more rain, then, it's supposed to rain. For the moment, my lawn's greener than everyone elses. Whatever grass I have apparently needs lots of water so it looks great in the Spring, then when it gets warmer and dryer I have the worst looking lawn in the neighborhood. Not this year I suspect as two across-the-street neighbors never raked leaves so their lawns are smothered, and one's got kids who trash the yards with ... trash ... s

In Opera, the whole line is some unreadable light green IE Fifth does not flash but it does in both firefox and sea monkey <form class="newsFlashDate">Another record year! Approximately at 10:55am this morning, Mariah laid the <blink><strong>FIFTH</strong></blink> egg!!! For the latest visit <strong>Imprints</strong>. Probably just one of these cases where Mozilla based browsers are better at displaying html. Almost thought Firefox was not handling it correctly (page froze with the image "loading" )until I realized I had noscript on .

Anti Spyware/virus/adware Etc
Pete_C replied to Bubba Bob's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I have always been of the opinion that if you get a virus; that after you use an automated tool or antivirus program to remove it ; it is still very important that you go to the antivirus programs database and check their manual removal instructions to see if there are additional follow up steps to ensure that you have removed all the components and reversed all the changes. Sure, most folks feel that running the removal tool alone is sufficient and that it should totally remove and reverse the changes; but this is often not so. Often you must restore registry keys it has deleted, change perm -
Have you checked your mouse sensitivity (how near an object it must be or how close to the same spot for a double click) and timing (how much time between clicks constitutes a double click? ) Control panel, mouse lets you adjust the double click speed. You need TweakUI from microsoft to adjust the sensitivity. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx Run it and in its mouse applets there are all the controls and test buttons.
