It is so much fun completed the software install on a new system. I truly enjoy spending 24 hours plus getting a system setup to my satisfaction. With 98SE it was so much simpler. I printed out a couple of sheets with each step outlined and had all my updates burned to a disk all in order of install. All of my hardware drivers were updated and burned to disk. The same with my necessary programs. Install lean, clean and mean.

Auto parts stores. If you really want to get inventive replace the fuse setup with circuit breakers used in big rigs, dump trucks and heavy equipemnet. I used to remove them from the old Mack trucks we were scrapping.

There's another new networking question in PC Support.

We have a crap load of it in Central NY. New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets

I've had two network questions asked in PC Support. I don't have the knowledge to figure out their problems and it doesn't seem as anyone with networking experience has really looked at those threads. Who thought we had too many sections?

I took my mutt out on his leash because he was going berserk. As he dragged me around the corner I saw my favorite skunk that holed up under my crawl space. The dog came to a fast stop and froze as did the skunk. They stood stock still with their noses about four inches apart. That lasted about one minute then the skunk conceded and ran back under the house. I was so happy that the dog didn't attack and the skunk didn't spray.

I just use Knoppix to retrieve the documents and burn them to a CD or if small enough copy them to a floppy. -
The 64 bit versions are at the link I gave you. Just remember thay are experimental.
-
You would need to use a 64 bit version of Thunderbird which is still experimental. There are not many applications for WinXP 64 bit. http://www.vector64.com/

You will need to get the correct part numbers when you take it apart. BTW. Samsung LCD monitors have a three year warranty. -

Hey, I kicked and screamed about going to WinXP, bit I like it. I should have installed it back when I purchased the Home OEM disk 3 years ago. I'll keep 98SE on my other drives just for backup. -

Probably the backlight (CCFL) or inverter going bad. Do it yourself for about $50 or send it out $100-$150. -
Microsoft Windows Version Nt 4.0
TheTerrorist_75 replied to bearskin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Mr. Bill added some necessary files to WinNT 4.0 so Diskeeper could be downloaded and ran on it. Diskeeper supposedly wasn't to be included until WinNT 5.0. BTW,The oringinal Diskeeper did not fair well on WinNT 4.0 when it was downloaded and installed. It wasn't that compatible. I would search for a newer defrag app. Check out; PageDefrag Diskeeper Lite
