I have a client who wants something to back up to beside cds. I pointed her to a 160G HDD. She will ask about what backup software to use. She in on the bottom side of novice when it comes to software apps. She is running XP Pro, it has a backup util if needed. I just wanted to get opinions here first. I will recommend the drive be partitioned into at least 2 drives. One as a place for whole drive backup the second for her to drag and drop things she may want to pull back and forth. HDD on her machine has in the neighborhood of 20gigs used if I had to guess. M

from the logmein forums I am under the impression that you could download the .exe on your machine, then it will run the logmein.exe filling in the info for your account so the person installing it ( the one you are trying to help) does not have to log in to your account to add their computer. You want to be very very careful there! Some times just the fact that there may be little or no fundson the account, you are still open to credit fraud. I know examples where money was removed from accounts with automatic OD's which can ruin your credit rating if not paid. But essentially yes, it is smarter to have a seperate account for online purchases, rather than straight out of your million dollar account My bank has was just purchased by Capital One, but we all ways had MasterCard as their bank cards.

d-link was an ethernet adaptor. ran recovery cd. loaded drivers for the d link, surfing the net. now i'm trying to get the smc running. will get another type to try.
