Baker7: I think the reason that they think they can get away with this is that it's a "free" movie ticket. Hence my original post: "What's the price of dignity" Obviously I will not be attending. JDoors: "let them drown in their own stupity, I say" I could not have said it any better.

Tonight while in my favorite coffee shop I noticed a pile of "free invitations" to view an upcoming screening of "The Lucky Ones" at a local movie theater. So I took one. Later, upon reading the fine print, I noticed the following disclaimer: "Arrive AT LEAST ONE HOUR EARLY. These screenings are monitored for unauthorized recording. By attending, you AGREE not to bring in any audio or video recording devices AND you consent to a physical search of your belongings and person. Please allow additional time for HEIGHTENED SECURITY." HUH? I very reluctantly agree to the heightened security BS when

So Does Avg 8 Destroy Anyone Else's Performance?
irregularjoe replied to Honda_Boy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Hi Honda Boy: In a word: YES. AVG 8 seems to have followed the lead of Norton and has become a hog. Not only that, but you can't get some of the protection with the free version that they always have given with the past versions. And they seem to like nag screens a lot. I used AVG free for 5 + years and always recommended it. But not anymore. I dumped AVG and I'm currently trying the free vesion of Avast 4. So far, so good. It seems a lot less of a hog, runs seamlesly in the background, offers a lot of user friendly tweaks, and frequent automatic updates. The only thing that it's missing is au -

You also should check out Adobe Premier Elements. -
OK! Just jump on board the "A" Train. Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and crew show you the best way to get to "Sugar Hill in Harlem". Classic tune filmed on a train (or at least a sound stage that sure does look like a 1940's train) What more can you want? "ALL ABOARRRRRRRRRD!"

Hi Rhema7. Not sure if you saw it, but these Chrome posts are over in the "Open Chat" forum. Joe

I just downloaded and installed Chrome tonight. So far, so good. The first thing that I am impressed with is that it doesn't try to make itself the default browser and doesn't nag you with pop-ups saying "Are you certain that you do not want Chrome to take over your computer?" Unlike some other browsers.

I fell for this BS myself when it was first "mandated". I had similar responses. ....ie: Not available at this time, please call -1800 etc. Another one: Your submitted information does not match our records, please call 1-800 Etc. Another one : You have already used your alloted free credit report. You must send a written request along with a check in the amount of $:xxx for your credit report. ........Of course I never received any free credit report. The only thing I received was them telling me that they wanted MORE of my personal information, and a check. I sent neither. My conclusion is

I know they are the same company, but it doesn't seem as painful shopping there for some reason. I'm not sure why. Maybe the membership thing?

I would rather have US support techs then anywhere else in the world, because I cannot understand them when they talk fast, or have a VERY heavy dialect or accents. This is nothing against anyone, but I like my support in the US, rather then to call someone who is unable to help me at the call center. Good Luck, TT, and I hope all goes smooth for you Brian I hate telephone tech support. It's an oxymoron. And usually a moron on the other end of the phone too. As far as heavy accents go, did you ever deal with tech support from Arkansas?
