if you want to keep it simple and ugly, just run the two wires out of the pc. To start it, just touch and release the wires.

Need Help Sharing A Printer!
shanenin replied to bobgo2728's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
when I setup a shared printer on a mac with my XP and Vista machine, I used Bonjour. It includes a printer sharing utility, that configures printer sharing automatically. It works really smooth edit added later// you first have to enable printer sharing on the mac. Then run "bonjour for windows" and it will configure the connection to the mac printer. -
some memory just is not compatible, even if it has the correct specs. You may have a bad slot, try the one gb stick in each to see if it makes a difference. third, your new memory may be defective.

Their is a full free version(not a trial). It just does not have a few of the options as the paid.

Thanks for the suggestion. That takes taxes owed about $300(based on the tax table) - withholdings of $122. That leaves her owing about $180. Since we files late, she has penalties. edit added later// I think I screwed up one of the worksheets. Working form a pdf document is confusing. I think I see where my problem may be. edit added later// she gets up to a $5400 standard deduction, even if I claim her. That solved that issue :-)
-
exactly. That is what I thought. I must be reading it wrong. It seems to all depend on line 5 of the 1040ez. The way I am reading it, she gets a "0" entered there. Without any standard deduction, that leaves all of her income as taxable.
-
We have been lazy in getting her return done. I assumed she had money coming back so we were not in any hurry. I claimed my child as a dependent on my taxes. She had about $3000 in wages in 2008. Since I claimed her as a dependent, she does not appear to get any deduction. So at the tax rate of 10% she owes $300. Does that seem correct? So every cent she made is taxable income, right? Her withholdings were less then $300, If that is the case, she has to pay in this year.

If you have two cards installed, you may have to tell the computer which sound card to usefor audio output. with just the original audio, have you just tried to reinstall the drivers that would be listed on the computer manufacture website?

Safely Remove Hardware Help
shanenin replied to sceeter32's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
you could probably log out then log back in. -
you could try reflashing it using the linksys firmware. If your router is compatible, reflash it with dd-wrt http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

use msconfig to disable everything from starting up. If this helps, try turning on one thing at a time to see what item is causing the slowdown(if any)

I would look on ebay. You can get new dell keyboards in the $20 range. Some rare keyboards, if you can even find them can go for as much as a $100 plus. It is worth checking.

Mac G4 System Failure, Corrupt Stack, Help!
shanenin replied to Gkoren's topic in Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod
I am a hardware guy. My first thought is an old hard drive like that is starting to fail. I would test it. I would remove the hard drive and place it in an x86 based(windows) machine and run a harddrive diagnostic program like spinrite. Thier are also good free programs released by hard drive manufactures. Is it an optiuon to trhy and format an reload your system? If so that may be the best solution. -
I have seen some laptop bios setups(more common in desktops) that allow you to change the sata controllers to "Ide Mode" This does not hurt performance and will allow Windows to see the drives as IDE and use the built in IDE drivers. This would be the ideal solution. The second solution is to build a slipstreamed disc with the SATA drivers installed. These drivers are needed for windows to see the sata controller and your drive This tutorial will show you how. What model is your laptop? I can try and help you with more info.

To prevent this particular damage from happening, are their things to look for before running an anti-malware scanner? This information would be helpful to everyone. Thanks :-)

You motherboad manufature has the files you need. choose the drivers marked "VIA VT8237® SATA RAID Driver (For floppy driver)" Using nlite, point to the drivers in this folder(the one you downloaded from above) VIA_VT8237_SATARAID_Floppy\VIA_RAID_Floppy\i386\NT5 edit added later// the drivers you found may have also worked, but I am certain the drivers on the msi site are correct.
