is their any reason you can't first use the search feature in non safemode? After you know the location, then delete it in safemode.

Help Me W/ Command Prompt!
shanenin replied to -Spazmatic-'s topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
you could also just make a copy of the exectuable C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe . now you can just drag this copy of cmd to the folder(directory) you want to run it in. the cd command is probably the prefered method of doing it. Since falcon1986 also mentioned using commandhere powertoy, I thought I would suggest a similar way of doing it. -
to be honest, I am not sure if ubuntu will resize ntfs, which is what you need to do. the very first thing I would do would be a good defragmening, and back up any data you do not want to lose. Some people rave about partition magic to resize ntfs. I have had it both work and fail for me. When it failed, it left my ntfs partition toasted; but that program would be an option. You could also try the program on knoppix called qtparted, it is a graphical partitioner similar to partition magic, I have never used it, but it has probably a similar succes rate as partition magic. You could also just t

writing code seems to release endorphins. I seem to feel good when writing it. It seems to be somewhat a biochemical reaction. When writing code I feel mentally satisfied. I thought maybe you other coders feel the same way :-)

ubuntu is a name of a linux distibution. http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ ms word will not run on linux. Open office might be a good alternative it can open and save in .doc format. This program has both a windows and linux port. You could try it without even installing linux http://www.openoffice.org/

the best way to learn is to jump right in. I would reccomend downloading ubuntu, it is good for beginners. Linux is differnet then windows, but can do just about anything windows can, but not run programs that were desighned to run on winodows.

Like I said he legally purchase the keys and no he does not have installed copies on XP using the key he gave me. He got a special license with MS because he works on computers. He was given several keys with his license, and give one key per computer ... so my key is not being used on another computer. No one is trying to beat anything. If you don't have any help to offer go about your own business. I'm not here to waste my time with your accusations. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> since you have a legal copy, JUST CALL THEM. It is hardly infringing on your rights. Why would you care that

I personally do not see the problem with activation. Microsoft only had to add activation because so many people steal it(not saying you are). If there was not a severe problem with people stealing microsoft windows, they would not have to add activation. They seem very lenient on activating questionable stuff. I originally had windows preinstalled on my hp computer, which I later installed linux on it instead. I built a new computer and used the key from my old hp computer. It did not want to activate(imagine that). I called microsoft and told them what I did, they were happy to let me use th

I was looking at this memory at newegg, it is desighned to be used together(duel channel), can this memory be split and used in seperate systems? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820220057 edit added later// This seems to be regular memory. So I don't think there is any problem splitting it up and using it seperately.

Help Plzzz Lol I Got Problems
shanenin replied to MattOrr's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
do you have a copy of any live linux disk, like knoppix. That is a great tool to have. edit added later// looking at your hijack this log, you seem to have quite a few programs already installed. Do you get this problem just after installing winodws, before installing any of the extra stuff? -
Help Plzzz Lol I Got Problems

as to test for a hardware problem, I would try one stick of memory at a time, assuming you have more then one stick in it. -

my gut says that is a software problem, either the OS or misbehaving application. I would test it by running knoppix, if that runs without those problems, that would at least rule out a hardware problem. just use the 'top' command from the terminal, it will show memory and cpu usage. -
I am starting to get nervous about that start of my repair business. If all goes well I will be getting calls in february. I am assuming a large part of my business will be reinstalling windows, and alot of those will be XP. Assuming customers no longer have a recovery partiton, or recovery cds, It gets little tougher. Is it pretty standard in the industry to use an oem xp disk, along with the key located on their computer to do clean installs? If I own xp home oem(sp1 and sp2) and xp pro oem(sp1 and sp2) will I be able to reinstall most xp computers(minus some drivers). Any input would be

why do you say that?

do you mean buy a wirless card for your computer? Do you already have a wireless router? $40 for a router seems good, at is not so cheap for a card.

it is probably a good idea to have your data on a seperate partition. In the future if you need to reinstall windows, all of your data will be seperate.

No I had an unused copy of meillenium laying around, so I used that.

I bought a linksys wirelss router a while back, I initially disables wireless, but had to reset the router a while back, since then I have had a completely open network. I noticed this today when I installed my new wireless card, it attached to the router with out any security :-( . I hope I was not running a porn server. I enabled mac filtering, so I am pretty certain no one else can now use my router, but have a question. With out enableing wep or wpa is all of my web traffic and passwords used on that computer being transmitted around town, or does mac filtering stop that?

Re-routing Saved Items

here is what I would do. make a folder called "links to downloads"(or whatever). then go inside that folder and r-click, then choose, new, then shorcut. The shortcut wizard will let you make a shortcut(link) to each of your places you have downloads. After making a link to all of the spots, you will have easy access to them all from the same place. -
