Just remembered to tell you this one. I am trying to get another good habit off and running. While I download (on dialup) updates, I get on my Health Walker glide type exercise machine, here in the computer room, and spend the time exercising. I hope I can stick to that habit and lose some weight. God bless everyone.

I am now scanning with my antivirus every evening. I finally found the perfect time to do it, I start the scan, then go work on supper preparation, then come back to check on scan from time to time. Once it is done, then I scan with Spybot. Now this has become a habit with me, it is easier to remember to do it. As for the potential harm to the hard drive. I figure getting a virus/worm/trojan, or spyware/malware is an even worse problem for it. So I am going to continue to scan each day at suppertime. If we eat out, then it gets a day's rest. I saw parts of this on noon news today. I am on dialup, and it was so slow loading that I gave up. Will try it again in a few days when traffic to the site eases off abit. I am giving up on Solitare, because it says low score wins but ranks you based on high score??? And there is nothing showing your score on each game to see how well or poorly you have done. And the last time I played it, the Jack of Diamonds turned up missing as I was stacking the suits back up on top, even though it had been around down below. Thanks for the warning. This mass mailing worm does sound like a big problem. It will attempt to lower your security settings, terminate processes, and open a back door on your compromised computer. Ugh!!! There was a Norton antivirus update again today, which made me curious, so I checked out their security site and found their info on this bad dude. They rate it a 3 risk on a scale of 1-5. Would a right click on empty spot on desktop, and then a click on refresh, solve it? Or a setting to center screen the window for opening windows somewhere? Or is it a monitor setting that got off center I wonder? Does it happen in all your browsers? But the calculator is a Windows program right? I hope you find the answer, sounds frustrating. P.S. Would your system restore be able to take you back to before this started? And doesn't XP have a repair function or something like that? (I have Win2000). I stuck the first warning thread in the wrong section. Sorry. I am still struggling with that stupid virus or whatever it is, and my foggy brain still doesn't seem to think clearly enough. What happens to my computer as these things fight to eliminate each other, while unsuspecting me decides it's time to do a scan with Spybot Search and Destroy? Could all those things conflict with each other enough to render my computer a doorstop? The article talks about the user agreement, but fails to mention not one of them asked me if their junk could reside on my computer or do anything to anything on it. So where are the rights of the computer owner? I hope the lawsuit opens up that can of worms, and that the judge is also fedup with fighting spyware on personal and professional compute
