I am sorry you have had a problem such as this, and I hope you get your money back. I would file a complaint on them even if the money was refunded. Thanks for the warning! I learned many years (30-35 yrs) ago to not trust an outfit with liquidators in their name, (or liquidated merchandise). I bought some things at a bricks and mortar store, including some small kitchen appliance (I have forgotten what it was now), and found out after the item broke, that the warranty was no good on liquidated merchandise, and of course the store was out of business by then. sigh!!! In those days money was ti

That's a great story. I thought it would be one of those urban legend hitchhiker tales. God bless everyone.

I Googled the name Adreporting, and there were over 58,000 pages. From glancing through the first page, I noticed that they lock up 100% of the adspace available. So that is probably the noncompetive part. First thought on this..."is this the website equivalent of the "housewives get rich by stuffing envelopes at home" scheme? Now to some questions to think about. Will you have a choice of ad types, and will you be able to reject types you don't want such as porn, gambling or whatever type you don't want? Will they give you the right to object to an ad, and then remove it from your site if yo

Thanks for bringing this information over to this board. The thread on G4 that discusses this is on this link. Even a post there by Tom Coyote, along with the above quoted post from Pete C. G4 thread about Spybot concerns (Don't forget to immunize Spybot after updates folks. Click on the pizza pie looking icon on left, then the florescent green + sign in the window that opens.) Stay safe folks. P.S. Shouldn't this thread be in the Spyware/Adware Removal section? God bless everyone.

Mass Suicide Pact Made Via Internet Chat Rooms.
thesidekickcat replied to thesidekickcat's topic in On The Web
I thought I should put an update on this story. Thankfully, so far it appears that no one has followed through with this suicide (and murder) plot, at least as far as anyone knows of. This guy has attempted the same thing at least twice before, in Texas in 2000, and in California in 2003, and now Oregon. What an awful way to spend his life. Yes he probably is a control freak, getting his kicks manipulating lonely unhappy people into doing his sick will. The authorities have found five women involved in this so far. Portland Oregon, Georgia, Virginia, Missouri, and Toronto too. This link is to -
Thanks Marty, Your news items from Trend (Micro) labs are so useful to let us know the latest attempts to do us damage. My Norton had an antivirus update last night, second big one for day, that covered this new threat. They rate it on scale of 1-5 as a 3. They call it MyDoom AX, Click on it for more info including a removal tool for it if anyone gets infected with it. But better to get whatever brand of antivirus you have updated now folks and avoid this and all the other junk that is out to get us. Symantec Security Response God bless everyone.

I wonder how the new antispyware program works in conjunction with other companies' products, such as Norton, or Spybot etc. No mention in article of when it would be out of Beta either. I think Bill Gates realized what a hard sell it would be to charge for a product to protect Windows holes from spyware. (I bet he will have the same problem with his planned antivirus!) So he floated the idea of maybe charging down the road for the antispyware one and the idea sank, and now is saving face by giving it free, as he should have all along. As for IE7, I sure don't want it, even after it is out o

Thanks for the warning, Barb. I think it is totally wrong, unethical, in fact very deceptive, of the roque outfit to pretend to be a good outfit like Spybot Search and Destroy, even trying to deceive by a close mimic of their url. Sure says alot about the pretender if their software has to ride on shirttails of someone else's reputation. Perhaps they stole the program too??? May the copycats get what is coming to them for doing something so unethical. What goes around, comes around sooner or later. Thanks and Blessings will come to the real Spybot Search and Destroy people for giving the int

Dear friend Shadow T. I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I know how hard it is to lose a Mom at any age. Luckily for your Mom, she lived a long life, though it still seems to young to die, and it is always way to soon for what we as children want. My prayers are with you and your family to be comforted, together in love and unity, and to remember the good times with your Mom. Grief is for a time, and then acceptance will come at some point. Give yourself permission to grieve, then give yourself permission later on to go on with life as your Mom would want you to do. If she was anything l

A man in Klamath Falls, Oregon used internet chat rooms and email to entice people to agree to sucide and even murder of children internationally, at least here in the United States, and Canada, maybe elsewhere. He has been caught, but the ones who agreed to it, including one who planned to murder her children are still unknown. Anyone with information on anything like this that they have seen in a chat room, needs to contact the police involved in the case, before Monday the 14th, the sucide date. I know this is a bit more than this board usually talks about, but I feel it is so important to

I have never liked Automatic Updates. First, because I am on dialup, so need to have nothing else going on while I do updates. Second, because I have heard/read of others saying that automatic doesn't include them all. (So since Norton insists that it be set on Automatic, I do, but with manual notification. And by my checking for updates myself when I first get online, and whenever someone else says there was an update, I usually find the updates faster than the Automatic thing notifies me. I really strongly believe finding updates faster is safer in the long run!!!) Third, I just like to know

I just found this Symantec Alert on the G4 Updates and Alerts Sticky thread. ZDNet Security News Symantec Flaw Maybe that was corrected on the second update yesterday? If not, then check manually (not just automatic) for Norton updates on LiveUpdate. Sounds very critical, so check for updates folks, and stay safe! God bless everyone.

So I take it the Microsoft site will be extra busy tomorrow huh? I think I will wait for a few days to avoid the rush. Thanks for the info Shadow. I see that Office will have an update. I can't understand why they never have done the scan on main update window to include the office stuff. Should be an all in one scan. I bet alot of people forget to check for office updates ( office link is in center of the main update toolbar). I know I forget to do it at times. God bless everyone.

screi, Thank you for your reply. No, I'm not pulling your chain, and No, it's not such a big deal. I posted this in world start message board thinking someone over there would have additional information. I did learn some things related to this, but it didn't solve the issue. I felt that with all the knowledge that's here on the board, someone would know if this could be done. I'm not as techie as most here and therefore I ask a lot of stupid questions. If it something that can't be done, I definately won't lose sleep over it. Will try not to bother anyone with stupid questions here. By the

That is truly good news about your wife. Praise God. Thanks for the well wishes for me surviving the flu. I feel somewhat better today, but hubby is now worse. Ugh I hate the flu!!!! I have an, unrelated to flu, appointment with the Dr tomorrow, sure hope my blood pressure is better. Have been eating 5 stalks of celery a day, BP went down alot in first couple of weeks of eating celery (after reading it works to lower BP), but don't know if it goes up when a person has been sick. We'll see. Sure hope it is down and stays there by just eating celery. Sure safer than meds. Another idea about the
