  1. We like Honda lawn mowers alot. In fact my hubby wont buy anything else. Our first one lasted over 20 years. Our newest one is a couple of years old and doing fine. They are tough, and able to mow over rough ground (such as the alley mix of gravel and weeds and high/low spots) and high grass, even wet grass. My hubby used to do several neighborhood seniors' yards besides ours, now just does two. By the way, one of my hubby's favorite fall things is to use the mower to clean up fallen leaves, wet or dry, from yard, sidewalk and street. Shows up the neighbors with their rakes, and blowers. It i
  2. I am sure glad it was an error on Spybot's end and not on our computers. I think my blood pressure went up after that came up on my scan, even though my Norton scan was clean. Rather dreaded today, thinking I would have to learn how to do the HJT log thing, and nearsightedly take the advice of the experts to try to fix whatever. Am glad that isn't necessary now! Whew!!! God bless everyone.
  3. Happy Birthday and may your remaining years be many, all of them filled with good health, wealth and happiness. God bless everyone.
  4. Thanks for letting me know it was Spybot S and D's error. Whew!!! And I am sorry for butting in on your HJT log thread (yes I do know better ), but it just felt like something should would have shown up in your log if this threat had been for real. So I was adding my little bit in case there was another reason for this thing. I did another scan after today's Norton antivirus update and came up clean again, as well as updated Spybot and scanned again. Clean!!! Whew!!! Sure a big relief to find it wasn't something invading our computers. My Norton warns me every now and then, even as rece
  5. I am not sure if this is any help or not. I scanned with Spybot just after getting off the internet last night and came up clean. Today I logged on and then came over here, found a notice from someone that Spybot had an update, so I got it, did another scan, and it came up with this: "Error during check!: Cabrotor (Datei C:\WINNT\win.ini kann nicht geöffnet werden. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) () Congratulations!: No immediate threats were found. ()" So it appears to be an error of some kind. It still comes up with same thing on additional sc
  6. I am so-o-o out of my league here to guess what the problem is. 1. Does IE work on dialup with Earthlink? If it does then maybe that will help pinpoint that it needs a different setting for DirectWay. 2. Have you talked to the Direct Way people for their imput on how to do the settings? 3. Perhaps IE crashed sometime and is now corrupt and needs to be fixed? Mine crashed awhile back on the Leoville boards that had a new Google trial type ad system. Others there had Firefox crash, I think I was the only IE user that it happened to. Anyhow IE crashed, then it took out my dialup service too. I
  7. Here is a link to the Corvalis Gazette Times for the rest of the story. He would have been fined $10,000 for each day of sending a false signal if he had turned it back on. Corvalis Newspaper account of the story Nice of Toshiba to agree to a new tv, as his was just a couple of weeks out of warranty. God bless everyone.
  8. I saw your thread over at G4, and was letting those with more tech knowledge than me answer you, then haven't had time the last few days to check back over there. By the way, if you still have a problem even after alot of answers on a thread there or here, just add another post to let people know you are still need help. That bumps it up to the front page to catch people's attention again. Now for my 1 cent's worth of possibilities. 1. Isn't Earthlink a dialup isp? If so, then why is the never dial up box checked? Yet you say you have DirectWay satellite, so it can't be dialup I guess? You see
  9. Great way of using humor to remind us all how to stay safe. Thanks for sharing it. God bless everyone.
  10. Thanks for the "how to" on moving stuff from C to D drives. I had been wondering if that could be done too. P.S. Welcome to this board Jerry. Glad to have a new member. I hope you will like it here. God bless everyone.
  11. Dominican Republic---Cow---Watermellon. 2%!!!! OKaaay. I always knew I was a bit odd, even my blood type is fairly rare. B+ God bless everyone.
  12. What? Don't tell me they hired Cris Pirillo? Just kidding, I think? I have not even looked at the channel since checking it out after the TTV takeover. I hadn't watched TSS steady for about six months or a year before that either as I felt it was going downhill. I still miss Call For Help. I learned alot from that show as a beginner at all this computer stuff. Maybe someday it will air again here. God bless everyone.
  13. Agreed. Welcome Darrenkook, and uberpenguin, hope you feel at ease here. I want to add my welcome to the new members too. I hope they like it here as well as we all do. As for inviting others, I have done that on both Leoville and G4 boards, but being careful of who I invite. I want the board to grow, but continue to be peaceful. I hope that doesn't make me a snob??? God bless everyone.
  14. That's great! Thanks! I think I will start a humor folder in Favorites and stick that one in for the first item. God bless everyone.
  15. Rather than rewrite what I posted in other board, I will just copy and paste it. Sorry for the duplication folks, but I got to thinking that this is also a security alert as the various updates this week have turned off both my antivirus and firewall protection along with other things, with different days updates. So I want to warn everyone with Norton to be careful and check out the display window to make sure you are fully protected. It doesn't show up on the system tray icons most of the time. 16. Thanks for the info, Marty. Each time I hear of these new and ever more destructive things, I wonder why the people who write them can't put their computer talents towards benefiting others. Why do they need to do bad things to people to be satisfied with their sorry lives? How can they live with themselves knowing the trouble they cause? What a waste of talent/knowledge. How sad that they don't do good instead of harm. Shame on them for what they do to harm others. God bless everyone.
  17. Has anyone seen or heard from Marsh? I read one of his posts on G4, in the last week or two, that his cat had terminal cancer. That is so sad. I couldn't find the post again to answer him the next day. I guess I should have PM'd him now that I think about it. I think he said his cat is only 7 years old too. Anyhow I haven't seen him post anywhere since, and am wondering how he and the cat are doing? So sad a thing to go through with a beloved pet. God bless everyone.
  18. Happy Birthday! May God bless you with many more years to come and all filled with good health, prosperity, and happiness! God bless everyone.
  19. Now I feel so dumb. Oh my I am so embarrassed. I absolutely never saw those little things before. Thanks for the information. God bless everyone.
  20. I haven't been over to G4 today, but haven't gotten anything like that yet. I don't ever click on links in threads, or in PMs, from people I don't know enough from boards to trust. Also I use the mouse hover to see where the link would take me to before I click on it in all cases. And I have signatures turned off, so the odd ball stuff that is in some sigs doesn't affect me. I am a scaridy cat, but so far one without any virus/worms/trojans. Next question... How do you do PMs on this board? Or is it always/only by email? I haven't figured that out yet. God bless everyone.
  21. Happy Birthday Suwannee. May God bless you with many more years, all of them filled with health, happiness, and prosperity. God bless you and everyone.
  22. Mount St Helens is getting hotter, now that magma has risen to the surface. New rocks are forming and the red hot magma shows through it all, and the heat (1100 plus degrees) boils off what's left of the glacier in steam clouds. Still a mystery of when it will explode again. The mountain appears to nead a large dose of Visine to "get the red out". Good weather here for the next few days, but wind is in our direction, untill the next storm system comes in over the weekend. Our ever changing weather could make volcano watching an iffy thing this fall and winter. God bless everyone.
  23. That's a great Star Trek story frame. Also could give the Borg Kazaa too! And then the music industry could go after the Borg in cahoots with the government. (Microsoft would then have to take their case to Q to get first dibs on the Borg.) And add a few virus/worm/trojans to the mix for the Borg. Maybe then the Borg would surrender, or better yet, kill themselves in a suicide pact to get away from the lawyers. God bless everyone.
  24. I am worried about her as well. Haven't heard from her since a PM she sent me on another board, while we were on vacation, Sept 20th I think. She was in the hospital at that time. She hasn't answered my PMs either. Get well soon Chinawht, and come back to the boards when you feel up to it my friend. We miss you alot. May God heal and bless her, and everyone.
  25. I heard from him last week and he said he was out of the casts, in therapy and would be back to normal in a couple of weeks though the Dr said a month. Sure is good news for him. He said he would start coming to the boards more often. I have seen him on G4 occasionally. so I imagine when he has time he will come here as well. God bless and heal him and everyone.
