  1. Happy birthday! May you be blessed with a long life that is filled with good health, happiness, and wealth. God bless everyone.
  2. A nicer, more talented, version of Grandpa Munster, but much younger, only a hundred, or two at the most. Taller than Grandpa was, and with much more hair (red I think), but the hair is standing straight up due to all the electrical current flowing up and out. Not dysfunctional in my view , just a hyperactive extra wild imagination gene... Great sense of humor though! Now the trick is to keep you Calm and Happpppy, so you wont want to blow the place up with that reactor!!! Especially for me sitting here with Mount St Helens blowing up in my NW back yard now (tonight) and then (19
  3. Our resident NW active volcano, Mount St Helens, blew steam and ash to about 36, 000 feet about 5:30pm, and a smaller blast about an hour later. Luckily for our metro Portland/Vancouver area, the slight winds were blowing it to the NE away from us. Had a good view of it from my living room window. Not anything like the massive blows it did in 1980 though. It did another "made for tv news" event. Usually with the past few months of activity it has been on time for the noon news, but this time it starred for the evening news. Funny timing. Katu Portland - Mount St Helens God bless everyone.
  4. Welcome to these boards. There is an arcade of old games too, if you like that sort of thing. Click on Arcade at the top middle of line below BestTechie's banner. Also a real nice feature is the View New Posts on that same line. Clicking on that gives all the new posts/threads since you last logged off. Saves alot of time searching for what's new. I am sure you will like it here, we are a friendly bunch, so join in wherever you want. God bless everyone.
  5. Thanks Liz for the reply, We are still fighting the side effects, just about the time we think we are out of the woods, we relapse with old or new problems...all stemming from this awful bug according to the Drs. So far I think the count is 3 urgent care visits, 2 doctor visits, and one 911 call for paramedics to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack. I wasn't Thank God! First time in many many years, that I have been sick (or injured) enough to think I might need an ambulance. Scared me, and probably my hubby too except I wasn't to aware of how he was reacting. Turned out to be a nasty epi
  6. Hello Liz, As I said somewhere else today, welcome to these boards. Sounds like you have the right experience to handle just about anything that could happen on a message board...in fact should be a piece of cake, after dealing with teenagers!!! But seriously this board, it's founder, and the people are great. I am sure you will like spending time here, if you can find the time with what sounds like a real busy life. As for computer books, I really like the "How to Use Computers...Visually in Full Color" by Lisa Biow and Bob Temple and published by SAMS. I found mine secondhand at Goodwill. (
  7. Sony's way, or the HIGHWAY.... (concerning Sony standards/universal.) God bless everyone.
  8. Thank you very much for your kind words, sir! Now when you syntesize/bottle it, I want 49% (I am not greedy) of the profit. Ha! I am the only original me, and on that basis should have a portion of the profits from any synthesized me. But I don't want any share of the liabilities, as I get into enough trouble just being me, let alone the potential trouble from any syntesized me stuff. As for that mad scientist's lab in the basement, now I know why my little Siamese cat has been so nervous lately, and standing guard at the basement door, and the staring at the floor. Ha!!! P.S. G4 isn't so
  9. Hello Liz, Welcome to these boards. Sure glad to see new people show up here. And I hope you will feel free to post over here anytime you want. By the way, please call me sidekick, or sidekickcat, but not Cat. I do not want anyone to mistake me, or my screen name, for the TTV show personality Cat. Thanks. Also thanks for adding to the missing pieces of puzzle about Leoville problems. I wish you and many others would sign up (and post) over there and on all the other boards. Then there would be more people to back up those who are picked on. Yes I was, and still am, scared of "getting my head
  10. Marty, I am sorry that you seem to have misunderstood my original post about the situation at Leoville. I was not criticizing left views, or those who hold those views, but was only talking about One poster who came on board the end of Dec and basically took over first the news and then the debate section, and insisted we change our views to his and who fought everyone from liberal to conservative that didn't agree with everything he said. He started out angry, and kept up the antagonistic fighting warlike attitude through out the time he was on those boards. Alot of people over there are left
  11. I hadn't been over to Leoville for weeks (edit... sorry I forgot to add that I did go over the night before to send JDM a birthday PM), but wanted to check my PMs there last night and was quite surprised at the recent closure of many sections of 'town'. News, Debators Corner, Hangout, and other less obvious sections were closed yesterday.... all supposedly because the neighborhood was going bad and needed to be redeveloped. I know there are former Leovillagers on this board, so thought they might be interested in this as a news item. Leoville It is sad that things got so out of hand in certain
  12. Happy Birthday Barb, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and wealth. God bless everyone.
  13. Finally someone has come up with something good about all the time spent playing video games. This story was in the Oregonian today, about a laparoscopic Surgeon who says game playing trains the eye/hand coordination necessary for this type of surgery, and at far less cost than the $200, 000 medical simulators. In fact he has a large data base measuring how game playing Drs perform versus those who aren't gamers. The Dr also is working with Hollywood visual effects experts in motion capture technology, to produce new types of surgical training techniques and devices. I wonder if he can deduct
  14. Happy Birthday to JDM, my PM buddy across the boards. May you have a long life filled with good health, happiness, and wealth. God bless you, and everyone.
  15. Siam... The King and I ? Have I got that right? robroy, it is sure good to see you back here!!! We have missed you!!! Have you seen your BD thread over on Open Chat? God bless everyone.
  16. I am so glad I am beloved!!! Thank You very much!!! But at least I am not bombed out, just my little Siamese cat from time to time. I sure blindly walked right into that one didn't I ? Ha! Ha! So the word is SIAMESE. God bless everyone.
  17. You are all welcome folks. JSKY, Since you didn't mention Windows 2000, I guess I'll keep my 2 grand to myself thankyou very much!!! Your little message actually was more plausible than the original one that mlegg showed on his thread. Now if you are seriously planning to be a phisher, you will need to mispell some words here and there, and don't forget to randomly put capital letters on words in the middle of your sentences, or even capitalize entire words for added importance Just trying to help everyone out, but be aware some advice does carry a risk or two. God bless everyone.
  18. Thanks Sultan for the warning. God bless everyone.
  19. bombed out...my cat on a catnip high. Hi Sultan, glad to see you over here once in awhile. Does your big Tiger like catnip? God bless everyone.
  20. I just found this warning by mlegg510 on G4. Beware of this and all email that wants you to send your private info. Here is a link to the G4 thread. Please read it and warn others. This new phishing scheme is in direct reponse to the new Windows Activation rules coming this month, so evidently this scheme is using that as the bait. Windows Activation Phishing Attempt Be careful folks, don't fall for any of these schemes. God bless everyone.
  21. You are all welcome. God bless everyone.
  22. I was over at G4 reading threads, and someone gave a link to this PC Hell website for removal info for Wild Tangent. After a couple of others on thread mentioned it was a great looking malware info site, I checked it out. Looks good to me too. It seems to have lots of malware help and other help too. So figured I would spread the news about the site, though you all might already know about it. But I didn't, and I am adding it to my favorites for future reference. PC Hell help I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so if anyone wants to move or remove it, that's ok with me. God bless everyone
  23. You're welcome, JSKY. I am glad I could come up with some things for you to think about. God bless everyone.
  24. I really like that story. Last fall's vacation was the first time I ever saw Washington state fish and game wardens doing a traffic lane pullover, as mandatory for all fisherman's vehicles, coming back from the coast from along the SW Wa. side of Columbia river. They wanted to catch those with to many fish, wrong kind or size, and of course the license thing. Than another fish and game warden was watching the vehicles that didn't pull over, to see if they looked like they'd been fishing. I kind of wondered, if we would be pulled over to check out our motorhome for fish, since the warden couldn
