  1. The following three sites (in order) are where I learned HTML and then proceeded to update to XHTML: http://www.pagetutor.com/ http://www.echoecho.com/ http://www.w3schools.com/ You could probably skip the middle one as it doesn't offer much information the other two don't have. At the risk of sounding corny: practice makes perfect. AMEND:!: pagetutor.com is really great because it makes HTML easy to understand. I went through that 5 years ago when I was in 4th grade. That should tell you something. W3schools is good too because it offers a built in practice page where you can edit the left pa
  2. Oddly enough, it got me. I was sent something similar and that freaked the crap out of me. Since then I've always been able to see it coming and I knew it was gonna happen here, but it still got me.
  3. Everyone says Kazaa Lite is safe to use and doesn't have spyware or anything, but I take the safe route. As for using MSConfig, some say not to, some say that what the people who say not to is BS, I say take the safe route and use a startup utility. That's just me though.
  4. Don't forget Google Browser invites too....
  5. I thought it was still beta? I tend to assume if a software version is under 1.0 it's still beta.. Thunderbird supports IMAP too if you want/have one of those.
  6. If it helps, none of them are on my computer and I'm running xp home. The only one that might be somewhat important would be qttask which might be quicktime because it looks real familiar to me.
  7. Thunderbird does not give you an email address. You use it to check your email with an already existing email address. For example, you can get a Yahoo address, and then use Thunderbird with it to check your email. If you plan on using it with either Yahoo or Hotmail, google [whichever] popper.
  8. I think tg's got the definition for you. To block them, it should be in the preferences under security or privacy (some people say all cookies invade privacy, which they can but don't always). For Firefox, it's tools=>options=>privacy=>cookies=>change your cookie preferences. If you really care about cookies, I suggest having it ask every time and you can just make it not to ask again for certain sites. If you're using Firefox, I suggest Permit Cookies which allows you to change a sites cookie permissions with a simple hotkey.
  9. I went there and it said not found. I'm assuming it moved to http://hometown.aol.co.uk/jrmc137/hjttutorial/tutorial.htm
  10. Yeah, watch out for the ninja monkeys-- --they can do bad stuff.
  11. I think robshanahan explained it well. It's like a Windows emulator but isn't. It's supposed to allow you to run Windows designed software inside of Linux, but it runs so slowly it's not worth using.
  12. You can get the image url easier by right clicking and selecting Copy Image Location and it'll be almost just as easy.
  13. That right there's what I like to calls a good question as I also missed about half. I think there was an online poll like Windows v. Mac or something and if Mac lost Alex was going to destroy a Mac, which apparently happened.
  14. I believe it's in the BIOS. I could be wrong.
  15. I do believe Winamp doesn't take much memory. Seeing as how the music is on CD, you could play the CD in a CD player, just a thought.
  16. It means I don't have the time now
  17. Aye, 'twas mentioned on TSS. I've been saying "aye" a lot lately....
  18. Even if Spybot and Ad Aware are run on one user with none others logged on I should run them on each user?
  19. Instead of the usual "What is the best Linux distro" I want to know the differences between them. This way I can decide for myself what is best for me.
  20. One can also find all the posts for any user by clicking their name at the top left above their avatar. This will take one to their user info page. Now near the top, under the user's name, is an option for Find all posts by this member.
  21. Yes I did in safe mode. I'll go try that Webroot SpySweeper now.
  22. Not exactly. From glancing at it, I can tell that I've done those steps and have posted about it in the Spyware/Adware Removal forum. The registry entries it mentions are non-existant. The same goes for the DLL.
