OK, Kat....here ya' go Kinda wish I could do better but I'm my own worst critic and if I keep messin with it, I'll probably start changing it for the worst....I actually started from scratch and made the pentacle blend a little better with the water and at the proper perspective but was goin' nuts trying to get the font right...I'm not really crazy about how it turned out...hope you like it none the less Pagan Moon 2

Hi Kat, I saw that you were also talking about it in #besttechie and probably have one of the guys that do this stuff for a living makin' ya somethin cool but I threw a few pics I had into the GIMP and this is a quickie that I came up with for ya...you might not like it, so, I won't be offended if you don't use it. a little? hehe heh...I figured if our fearless young leader can take the 4 letter words some of the potty mouths use in #besttechie, then this is nothin'...lol

I found this on another message board and had a good chuckle at a few of them, thought some of you guys might find it funny. sorry if any are offended, a few are a little risque These are extracts from actual letters sent to various councils and Housing associations throughout the UK: 1. I want some repairs done to my cooker as it has backfired and burnt my knob off. 2. I wish to complain that my father hurt his ankle very badly when he put his foot in the hole in his back passage. 3. And their 18 year old son is continually banging his balls against my fence. 4. I wish to report that the t

I don't think ultraplayer can convert files but it's a good player without having to deal with Real but Audacity will record whatever is playing through your speakers and save it as an mp3

strange.....is that with default font settings in FF?

ill have to check that out with the mozilla browser....i checked in ie and firefox and it was fine so i kinda assumed it would be okay with mozilla too at least..... I don't seem to have that problem....it rendered fine in FF, Mozilla 1.7, Konquerer, and epiphany.....couldn't tell ya how it does in IE...cuz...er....um...I stopped using windows when I have a choice...

hey marko, the layout and the "keep it simple" design seem good but IMO the coloring is kinda drab...for it being a travel/vacation site it could look a little happier...I'm not saying neon colors and animated gifs busting out of pinatas but a little something to lighten it up....maybe a better banner also?....other than that, good job, just my $.02 peace, T.

RESOLVED!!!!....mobo was the problem...I don't know if it's totally shot but it's a moot point now...picked up a new one, threw it in, loaded XP no problems...headache gone!

hey guys, No, this was meant to be a clean install from winxp home full. I was thinking it's a Ram problem as I couldn't get anything to install or run right (winxp, knoppix, mandrake)...just for the hell of it I through SLAX live cd in and it worked fine...kinda indicates to me that the RAM is fine....I've also tried a few other options...BIOS updates, tried activesmart to see if the drive might be failing but the drive doesn't even show up in that program. Not really sure where to go on this one...would hate to go through this thing replacing piece by piece...it's bad enough that my friend w

Hey folks, I wasn't sure where to post this but all the BSODs tell me it's hardware. First, a little background on the machine. AMD Duron 800MHz (matsonic MS8303E MOBO) / 384MB RAM / currently running windows ME (well, not really running). There are far too many problems/symptoms to list with the ME currently installed...If I can even get it to show a taskbar and desktop, it usually ends with a hang and hard boot being the only option (sometimes might get an unstable but usable desktop around the 8th boot)...I originally thought this was a bad driver hanging but now it won't start in safe mode

you are the man! I knew it had to be something stupid like that....I think I even went there looking for a setting to fix it but missed it....not sure why I just noticed this "feature"...it's not like I don't spend waaaayyyy too many hours in front of this thing...lol....can't see why someone would make a feature that would make you accidently change desktops though....lol...Is this feature enabled by default?...I don't remember ever messing with it and I've only had this issue for a couple days....and I don't get liquored up around the PC...lol Thanks, jcl...much appreciated

I've seemed to develop a strange bug with KDE multiple desktops. Issue: If I push my mouse to the top or the bottom of the screen, like trying to push it off the edge, it will switch desktops on me (it will happen on accident when closing a max'd window)...at first I thought it was just the apps minimizing themselves and it was really pi$$in' me off...Now that I know what's happening it's just a minor annoyance...being used to a single windows desktop, I seldom use multiple desktops so reducing it to 1 and removing the pager solves the problem but was wondering if someone else had seen this.

Hey Mike, I bought "A+ Complete" in 2003....since I had no intention of taking the A+ cert and just got it for my own personal knowledge, I can't tell you it's "the best" study guide but seemed to have all 2003 A+ objectives covered. I know they made some changes to the test from 2002 to 2003, but I'm not sure if any changes have been made since then, if not, you might wanna check it out. good luck T.

hmmmm, skipped 12 days in September that year huh?....weird! But what I'm thinkin' is more weird is, YOU KNOW THAT!!!!!....lmao question, why would you need Gnome or KDE to show that year?....lol kudos on the calender trivia

found another that seems kinda cool --->An A-Z Index of the Linux BASH command line....lists alot of other things....who'd a thought I could make a little calender in konsole...lol...or who'd a thought I might want to?

Someone asked me how to use the command line and I told him to google "linux command line tutorials"....Me, being a noob also, did the same. I think this site is about the most beginner-friendly that I found in my search. In restrospect, I wish I'd taken learning CLI a little more seriously when I first started because the shortcuts and wildcards would've saved me alot of typing.....Not to mention, the first time I had to edit a simple text file with root priviledges and had no idea how to open a text editor as root. any links to add or tips that the above link doesn't cover? EDIT: sorry I did

I can't say I'm bored with it by any means...there always seems to be something to do to with it, whether it be just making aesthetic changes or installing new goodies but I would definitely like to try other distros....gotta get me a couple spare boxes and learn the ins and outs of installing multiple distros on the same machine....pretty much know what I'm doing with a win/lin dual boot but don't really know how to partition for multiple distros...been reading on it though and already have a nice distro collection.....MDK, FC2, Debian, xandros (yuck!..a little too win-wannabe for my liking).

Hey!!!, I resemble that remark....lol I thought I was weird for doing it that same way
-
I think that one is a no brainer, hitest ...lol As you can tell, I'm very happy with it now...all bugs worked out...currently trying to find every windows software equivalent for linux so I don't even have to boot to it anymore....I don't think it's gonna happen since I use photoshop as well as a couple other hard to replace windows apps but I'm gettin' there. Man, tweakin' is fun! cool link for linux discount btw

Thanks again gang....It was a pretty good day....quiet and peaceful, just how I like it. and to Nerelda: I almost did the same because nobody buys me better presents than I do....was seriously considering getting the dvd drive you posted about but once again, I like things quiet and peaceful....lol....Being at Staples with a bunch of rabid shoppers didn't sound like my idea of a good time.. peace, T.
