Hey TheTrueDarkOne, Well, just so you know. I'm still getting use to doing them. The next one will be more tech than the others and will be discussing stuff on the forums as well. Instead of saying it was bad, maybe you could give me some constructive critisim, so I can do a better job next time. Maybe post in the thread where you can suggest topics and even post a question I might answer on the show. I want to be better at it, so I am looking for ways to better myself all the time. I've had people suggest tons of things that I will work on in future podcasts. B

Hi, Your log looks Ok. I'm going to move this to the PC support forum. Also what kind of internet connection do you have? Cable, DSL, dialup? Sometimes with Cable if you're in a neighborhood where a lot of people have it it can slow down when a lots of people are online. Sometimes the best thing to do to start troubleshooting is to restart the modem. Just pull the power plug for like 30 seconds, then plug it back in. B

Hey, Your log looks fine. So spyware is not causing the issues on your machine. Might want to make a more detailed post in the PC Support forum for more help. B

Ok, I'll talk to cnm and see what she says. She's away right now, so when she gets back I will let her know. B
-
Hey, Can you post a link to the topic you're trying to post in? The thread may be locked/closed, and that's why you can't post... B
-
Hey Flash, I'm talking to cnm now, and she wants to know the exact error message you are getting and who your ISP is. If you can provide us with that info, we'll try and fix your problem. B

I got this from a newsletter I subscribe to and thought it was quite interesting so I'm going to share it with all of you. What do you think? I think that is NO way for a CEO of a company to act. Especially one like Microsoft. Enjoy. Microsoft CEO Threatens to Kill Google While being deposed in a Microsoft lawsuit against Google, former Microsoft executive and Windows NT architect Mark Lucovsky stated that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer threatened to "kill" Google when he learned that Lucovsky was leaving Microsoft to join Google. Ballmer allegedly made the threat during a chair-throw

Just for future reference, try removing the old avatar first, then uploading the new one. That was a problem I had once and that seemed to work.... B

We could probably help you with it, in our web design forum or I'm sure there is software out there you can use to help you. Midphase looks to have ecommerce enabled, so... you may want to talk to them if you do with them and I'm sure they can help you out a bit. Sometimes hosts have software you can use... B
-
You're very welcome. Glad we could help. If you have anymore questions feel free to post them. B

Nice. That looks like a good host as well. Unmetered bandwidth Pretty cool. I assume you use them? B
-
Yes, it means you can accept credit cards. To answer the second question a sub-domain, well the best way to show you would be to give you an example: http://podcast.besttechie.net <-- that is a sub-domain. The podcast part is the sub part of the domain. It's basically a subdivision of the larger domain. If that makes sense. B

Those prices are way to high in my opinion. I'd go with godaddy. They are great and I love their service, they're nice and it's pretty fast too. As for hosting here are few hosts: http://net-integration.net/ <-- My host he will do custom plans if you need it. The web site is being worked on currently so the hosting page seems to be down temporarily. But I highly recommend them. http://www.dreamhost.com/ <-- I have heard good things about them. http://textdrive.com/ <-- I have also heard good things about them. As for creating the site. Hosting usually has nothing to do with c

Hey, Yes, most domains are range from around 5 - 10 USD. I bought my domain from godaddy.com, and I have not had a problem with them. As for hosting that can be anywhere from maybe 10 USD to a couple hundred USD (dedicated server(s)), depending on what you get. How much bandwidth, storage space, etc... Bandwidth and storage space are the two main things you are paying for. B

Hjt: No More Video -- Still Need Help
Besttechie replied to paxman356's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Hey, What version of Windows Media Player do you have? If you don't have at least version 10 (the latest version) I would try installing that as a start. The videos seem to be Windows Media Video files, so, they should play. It's also possible you're missing the codec to play the video file. So first, try updating to WMP 10. If you don't have it. If you do, or you update and it still doesn't work, try installing the DivX codec. That might be the problem, you're missing the proper codec for it the play the video. http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXPlay.exe <-- Direct DivX player/codec
