    If this is XP do you have Windows Update set to automatically download the newest updates? They were just released last week for this month. There are several of them this time.

    You probably allowed the cartridge to report it was empty before refilling. With the chipped cartridges you should never let them get beyond 75%.

    What's the manufacturer of the hard drive? Grab their utility and install it to a floppy drive, thumbdrive (if the mobo can boot from one) or burn it to a CD/DVD. Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities

    The only way to really tell if it is malware related would be to see a log.

    I would look up MRxSmb errors with the Event ID number. It may be something as simple as a DNS problem. To really confirm if it is malware related I would post a HJT log in the correct section of the forum.

    Junior year in high school for me was just cruising through the few courses I had remaining for my full credits for graduation. Senior year I only needed English 12 and Gym . I was mostly occupied with my hot rods, parties and babes when I hit my Junior year.
