  3. Cool. I have been reading about swapping in power converters if the batteries are dead. If it does work someone that collects this old stuff may want it. It appears everything is with it including the carrying case.
  4. I have my hands on a Mac Portable 5120. If I get it running how would I go about seeing the memory amount and if it has an SCSI hard drive without tearing it down? Is there something similar to Windows Msinfo32?
  5. I would say yes that there should be a noticeable difference.

  7. Did you check to see if the Spooler Service was set to Automatic and Started?
  8. Cost wise the AMD route is the way to go. If you change to the Intel you will need to do a fresh install of XP or mess around with a repair install.
  9. That brings back memories of my first night of drunk driver class. We were asked to relate why we were arrested for DWI. One guy stood up and said he was arrested because the cops were called to the bar he was at due to a disturbance. The disturbance was his wife smashing into his car while he was leaving the bar drunk then running over him when he got out of his car, with her car. Even though she ran over him then backed up and ran over him again he got back in his car and started to drive off when the cops arrived. He was charged with DWI and she was charged with vehicular assault. He figure
  10. Did you allow Outlook access in Panda's Firewall options?
  11. This only effects a repair install. A fresh install wouldn't contain the updated files.
  12. Due to a July update if someone performs a repair install they will have problems installing 80 of the latest patches. There is a .bat/.cmd file you can create to register required files for the updates to install successfully. regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll regsvr32 /s wups2.dll regsvr32 /s wups.dll regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll http://windowssecrets.com/comp/070927/#story1
  13. Change it around some and it would be like my days doing apartment maintainence. Pull torn screen to repair it. Hear smoke alarm continually going off. Set screen down and check smoke alarm. Find it's defective and go to truck for new one.......

  15. I remitted full payment with my cut up Master Card 7 years ago. I have never been happier. I now go with the premise if I don't have the cash to buy it, I don't need it.
  16. This a good free firewall that many give a high rating to. Comodo Free Firewall
  17. Both series make a few mistakes with actual survival techniques. Take a real survival course to see for yourself what it's like.
  18. It's a bit U2ish. Not bad for easy listening.
  19. You may be using the wrong graphics driver that is trying to run your monitor on too high of a refresh rate or you have set your refresh rate too high. Lower your refresh rate. Right click your Desktop and select Properties. Click the Settings tab then the Advanced button. Click the Monitor tab and set the Refresh rate to 70 Hertz. Make sure the box is checked to hide modes the monitor doesn't support. I would also reduce the resolution to 1024 x 768 for now. If the hissing has gone away you are on the right track to solve the problem.
  20. If only there was a live video of all their songs from my 4 CD set.
  21. I do not rake leaves. I mow over them and let the mulching attachment on the blade disperse them. Mowing over the falling apples and pears is a pain. Usually the squirrels clean them up fairly well but last year they were slackers. When we get those 100+" dumpers I call in one of my friends with a backhoe to push and mound the snow. I have a single stage snow blower on the piece of junk rider that couldn't blow anything over 3" of wet heavy stuff. It takes me longer to start the darn rider than it does for me to shovel. I actually enjoy shoveling up to a point. This year I am going to hire so
  22. Go to Edit > Preferences > Reading to edit the volume and voice. You can make many changes to the Adobe Reader in Preferences. Go to Adobe's site or do a Google search on all of the options.
  23. I bought my Socket A Epox 9-KHA+ with an AMD XP 2400+, Creative sound card and Linksys NIC in a all in one deal for under $100, 5 years ago on ebay. Knock on wood it still runs fine.
  24. Check your firewall settings. Some can and will block DHCP and DNS.
