    Stumper...

Hey Chappy, That's a weird one indeed. I'll be very intertested to hear if your ISP knows what's going on.
  2. I wouldn't turn off your fire wall. Maybe try dumping your web browser cache.

  5. That doesn't look like KDE... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi The LetterK, No you're right, it isn't KDE, it is XFce4, a great window manager. The post you've quoted ,August 18th, was an old post when I was running KDE. I recently overwrote that image with a new image with the same file name (storage issues at my ISP), when I overwrote my old image it affected all previous slackware screenshots.......oh well. This recent image reflects what I'm running now on my Slackware box. This is Slackware 10.2, running XFce4. I installed 10.2 shortly after it was released, a great distro btw:-)

    Snows A Coming

In my neck of the woods, Northern B.C., Canada, we are into a nice Fall season. The weather is cool, but, we haven't had our first frost yet. I expect it to cool off in late October and go below freezing during the evening hours. The leaves are falling and the mountain outside our back window is beautiful. My 11 year old is debating with her friend about what type of costume she should wear for Halloween.
  8. This is a note to all of you Debian 3.1 users out there. I just re-loaded my repositories today and noticed that there's a new version of Fire Fox availble, 1.0.4-2sarge4. If you've already go it please disregard this notice. I'm not sure how long this has been available.
  9. I'd like to echo what tictoc said, welcome to Besttechie.net, Carnevil! Very cool screenshot!
  10. Happy Birthday, Jsbowen!!
  11. I can also feel that Fall is here in my neck of the woods. I'll be turning off my outside water taps soon to avoid freezing pipes. It is getting colder in the morning.
  12. Heh-heh, thanks for the link to the falling Bush, funny stuff!
  13. Click on System-------->Administration------------------>Synaptic Package manager (enter root password) You might find some strategy games that you can download in the Ubuntu repositories.
  14. Hang in there, Honda_Boy! Be with your Grandfather, cherish him. Make sure you get some rest yourself, don't get too run down. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  15. That is very realistic indeed!
  16. Egad. How did a worm get into your beer? This is a question best considered ater you've consumed 1 dozen Mezcal bottles:-) Heh-heh, in all seriousnes I have no idea why this is done. Perhaps a beer expert at BT can shed some light on this one. Is this a marketing ploy of some sort?
  17. I haven't tried that, sounds good though. I've become quite fond of European beer. I like Faxe, a good Danish beer, and Holsten, a wonderful German beer. I highly recommend these if you're tired of domestic brew. Great stuff.
  18. Heh-heh, my wife has additional descriptors for me:-) To continue....................better half......................... fraction
  19. Okay, great idea for a thread. I have a local computer store near where I live called Data Boy, a small time, friendly operation. About 6 months ago I bought a CD burner from Data Boy for one of my computers, everything was going fine, but, then suddenly the burner died. I didn't think this was a problem as I knew I had the original receipt........but.........I couldn't find the @#&**%%% receipt! I was completely thunderstruck when I took my unit in and asked them to replace my burner fully expecting to pay the damages. They honoured my warranty even though I didn't have a receipt for p
