  1. It's on Physical Graffiti for some reason. Same goes for Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson, Lake & Palmer , the song by that name's on another album altogether (Works , I think). Those dang hippies! Still finishing up that line-up today.
  2. Led Zeppelin , self-titled first release through Houses Of The Holy (depending on how long it takes to finish up here).
  3. The Art of Noise Daft Punk The Magic Numbers Morcheeba Sort of a "novelty songs" theme.

  6. OG-BYN? What's that? We were pretty poor, so I imagine it was "show up" and ... here's your new daughter. I was only two-years-old so my memory is unreliable to say the least. My Sis hasn't e-mailed me back so I don't know if she's done as I recommended and called a local hospital to see if hospitals keep records going THAT far back (Oh snap!), or what. I don't know for a fact which hospital she was born at and she hasn't told me. We lived in Chicago and Childrens Memorial was nearby, so before I call for her (it's not long distance for me) I would like to know if that was in fact the hospital
  7. My sister e-mailed me asking if I knew how to find out the time of her birth. My birth certificate includes the time, so I never had to think about the question before. How, if it's not on your BC, do you find out your time of birth? (No one who was around then and might have a clue is available.)
  8. What?!? Did you consider all that scanning "interesting and fun," or "hard work?"

    My Project:

I decided to move the computer from the family room to the third bedroom (more privacy, less clutter as the family room is visible throughout the house, a couple of other reasons, some of which I have already forgotten). "Project?" You say? An all-day project! (Minimum.) First, come up with a plan. The third bedroom's smaller than the family room so I have to figure out where everything's going to go (plus make room for some shelving that's already in the third bedroom and is likely to stay there). I employ a technique I used when I bought the house and had to figure out where to put the fu

I was gonna say, "You sure did a lot of work recently!" They both look good.

  12. Wow, 200K and it looks that good? Yeah, but you'll never know the joys of slogging through foot high snow and slush during white-out conditions! Ha. So there. ha. i told you ...

Good source, but for the scientific errata I already knew the pertinent stuff about Ni-Cads. They still suck. Apparently, if you have the correct type of charger/discharger, you can successfully recondition them to varying degrees, but what equipment that inlcudes a charger HAS the correct type of charge/discharge cyles? Even if I had the necessary unit, connecting the dozen or so various types of cells would be a hassle. Or at least more of a hassle than buying disposables in bulk when they're on sale.

Nothing much to do with your ongoing project, but you brought it up so: I hate rechargeable batteries. They suck.

  18. I am going to see him with my father-in-law this February. ... Lucky you. One of the very few artists I've seen live, and worth it. Interesting that, in this milquetoast suburban area, we all sat there in rapture but basically with our hands folded neatly in our laps. Too uptight to let go. I wanted to let go but ... I guess I'm as uptight as any. From where I sat (orchestra seating) I could see members of his entourage (family maybe?) peeking out from off stage, I got the feeling they were watching us watching him, unable to just. let. go. They looked at us like we were aliens or something
  19. GTR (self titled). Oh yeah, Steve Howe and Steve Hackett (gotta check YouTube, see if there's anything there from them ... ). ------ Hmm, lookin' very 80's retro. When the Heart Rules The Mind : The Hunter : Hackett To Bits (gee-tar solo):
  20. Can't tell if it's a legit commerce site or just a cute way to entertain using FLASH.
  21. As a joke, yeah, I get it. If they had, things might have turned out very differently. Unless they enforced them as weakly as we do here, then the place would have still been crawling with Europeans anyway.
  22. For some reason Taj Mahal brought The Mahavishnu Orchestra to mind. I wonder what the connection might be ... Must've listened to them both when I was in High School.
