Love Dolores. I was at a freestyle bike demo last summer and all of a sudden that song started blasting. Then a bunch of kids held up signs that said" You Got Rick Rolled". Didn't think of it much until I heard it on a TwiT podcast. Listening to Stone Sour.

Help ... Can't Get To Regular Site ...
isteve replied to spirittoo's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Actually if they blocked you, you could get that message. If their server is set to not respond to your ip your computer would keep making request until it times out. However if you use a proxy the request is coming from a different ip address and allowing the handshake to take place and answering the request. Like suggested earlier a traceroute could narrow this down. -

Did you do anything at that site to get banned? It sounds like they may be blocking your ip address. -
You can read or write to FAT32 but only read NTFS. So if you sharing a drive between Windows and Mac format as FAT.

Yes, we all know Google is not evil and altering web search would be a dumb thing to do. But they are slowly creeping into everything we do. You pretty much can't go anywhere on the web today without being touched by Google. They know every search you do, they have adds on many websites, they can do Desktop search, they show us how to drive somewhere, They host our videos, images, e-mails, calendars, documents, in seconds find every post you ever made online, they will even be the first page you will see when you open your browser and if you want they will change your toolbar to assimilate yo

New Vista Install But A Coupla Probs
isteve replied to Honda_Boy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Vista 64 needs specific signed drivers, make sure you have the right driver these drivers are different from the 32 bit Vista drivers. If you looking for a more friendly Vista the Vista 32 is the way to go. -

Vista SP1 should be out sometime Tuesday, before you do anything else wait a day just in case. This should have a lot of fixes for drivers and system bugs. You should be logged out when you shut down firefox. I bookmark the page after the login and have my browser just log me in. I never see the login page this way. -
Is anyone worried about google having all your personal info, they now officially own Double Click. If you think about it they now have access to all your e-mails, your calendar dates, your documents, every search you did and just about everything you buy online. Now being able to set one double click tracking cookie they could shape future searches to weight advertisers.

I think there is a large percent of Linux users use it as a hobby. Playing with the system, modifying things, making things work better then the last guy could. I think they find a problem as a challenge and want to make it work part for satisfaction and part to show off for people who care. I think free is a reason but for a very small percent many Linux users have some pretty powerful systems and could afford Windows and Mac. Many Windows users are gamers and spend most of there time playing games for basically the same reason to do better than there peers and show off there skills. Some lik

System Preferences > Parental Controls to set what your kids can and can't do. Works best if Parent and children have different accounts.

Yep, one of the first things everyone does is go to Photo Booth and take pictures with the effects. My friend Lisa's daughter just got Macbook and that same pink cover.

Honda Boy, about 15 years ago I owned a Pontiac Fiero GT with the V6. The thing had some good traction in snow with the engine in the rear but would not steer, I use to turn the wheel and pray. 39 degrees and raining.

So how manywacky PhotoBooth pictures does she have already. Did she get use to the multi touch track pad yet? When I use other laptops now I find myself trying to scroll with two fingers and right click by two fingers on the pad and clicking. Cool trick go to google maps and do the iphone pinch to resize maps, don't know why it works.

Yes, we get thunderstorms and snow at least once every winter. December we had 11" of the white stuff and one unbelievable lightening display with thunder that shook the house.

Running it now, works well looks good.

Here I go again playing follow the leader. High 40's and rain today and going to be 25 tonight the genius on the local news just said there could be icy conditions in the morning.

Apple uses Hitachi, Seagate and Toshiba drives all off the shelf drives nothing special. The mac genius is probably just going to change out the drive and install the os and keep your old drive. My macbook came with a 160 gig drive I just ordered a 320 gig drive to replace it. The macbook drive is user replaceable doing so will not void the warrantee. Also there is a app called super duper that you can use to clone your drive and make it bootable. There are apps to control the fan many people use them to make the fan run all the time at slow speed so it is less likely to come on full when th
