spittoo: Its 5:35A EDT on 3/24/08, and I was able to get there using IE7 with default settings..........perhaps you should also investigate whether Malware/spyware/adware is the problem? Out HJT Team here is really good at this stuff.......There also is the possibility that your IP could be blocking it based on whatever reason your ISP may give......... Good Luck!! Brian -

Matt: What kind of drive is it??? Have you had any luck with USB External Drives? This information will help me when I have my server Brian

Looks like my drives are 20 Gig scsi drives for the server. I will have 5 of them running RAID Brian

I agree with Shanenin: If you manually move DATA that you want from machine to machine, you should be OK, but ONLY the DATA - Vista may or may not support some of the programs that XP does, and if you run into that problem, you will have the data that belongs to that program. Vista's default email program is Windows Mail, which is totally different from Outlook Express and Outlook 2000-2002. I was able to move my moms mail, but it took a while to do so, and you just can't simply move mail if you used Outlook to Windows Mail, because there is no way to take *.pst files from outlook and just

Hello Everyone: Well, I have been busy with preparing to receive my backup machine from the office downtown. This evening, I had the tech pull out all of the drives that were in Emmanuel and Defiant, and had him place the Hard drives from both machines into my newer 1.2GHTZ machine. I also have a IOMEGA JAZ drive that I like, so he's gonna place that card in with the machine, so I will have ONE machine with all drives from my older computers. Once the machine is all buttoned up, we will put XP Pro on her, and then update her, and then I will network her to Oddessy. I have wanted to retrieve

iccaros: I have decided to download the ISO image you provided and have burned it to CD using Oddessy - Now, all I have to do is to wait for my server to be installed with RAID support, and I will attempt to boot her up from the office. Sounds like the Jigdo way was TOO hard to worry about, and anyway, when I get the linux server running, I can ssh or use the GUI to update her remotely Thanks for all the help so far - wish me luck Brian

Marty: I have a copy of slakware, and I think shes a version 3 - I think Ive had it since 1996, but I didnt have a machine to install it on, and I didn't know if slakware is still supported, because there are so many other types of Linux OS's out there. I've used Redhat, Slakware, Fedora, and now debian, and I think my server will be running etch. Linux has become more flexible and easier to administer, because there is more widespread use of the Web to support it. I used to use telnet way back when because there was no other way other then to RLOGIN to get to a server, and now we have SSH,

Hello Everyone: I just started looking around in the last couple weeks, and found that jigdo allows you to download linux distros. However, when I downloaded a version for Windows, and run Jigdoeasy2win, and click on runme.bat I get: Is there a version of this that will allow me to download the debian etch or debian lenny dristro so I can get all of it using this? I dont have a linux machine to download this to, I just want to download the distros and try to burn the disks, nut it seems not to work? any ideas?? Brian
